Lovely family meal here, great value for money, delish food, great service and excellent customer service from Matt/Mark (sorry couldn’t quite remember) :)

We had a great evening at The Hare & Hounds. Exceptionally good value for four of us. Fantastic service from Matt and the rest of the team.

It has become an annual post holiday last hurrah for our two families as it never disappoints. (We do come more than once a year!!) Staff are friendly and attentive and the food is amazing value and quality. A firm family favourite. Matt and Claire looked after us so well this evening and Aimee managed to get all 9 meals out at the same time. Throughly recommended.

Local pub filled with local people. Didn't eat food, so can't comment. Drinks were quite expensive at £10 for 2 drinks, but still nicely poured. Background music needed!

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting this pub for the first time. The staff were really friendly and the food was *excellent*. (Thanks Amy, the chef). Definitely recommended. We'll definitely return. 👍🙂

We called in on spec. The pub was friendly and inviting and busy. We checked out the menu an decided to "double up" for a small additional charg were given double the fish, double the gammon and double the toppings. We were only expecting g more chips! The food was tasty and well cooked and we both enjoyed it. The atmosphere was relaxed a d friendly and we we spoken to by yhrla lord each time he passed a asked if we needed anything. Great service. So glad we stopped and stayed.will definitely go again.

We moved into the area 5 weeks ago and have eaten here 3 times already. The food is delicious, the service outstanding. Our children (10 & 7) are made to feel so welcome here, nothing is too much trouble. Matt is particulalry awesome! So glad this pub is on our door step.

Super friendly staff (especially Matt), fab food and a rustic ambiance. Perfect for a little meal out.

The service was amazing, staff very attentive, especially the manageress. Food and drink both very enjoyable and really good value for money. My only small negative was that the tables felt a little sticky but this will not put me off returning

We recently came up to the Hare and Hounds for food, and wow, was the standard delicious!! Talk about refreshing. I had the sweet chilli chicken with rice and it was like something from a thai restaurant - excellent chillis that were flavoursome but not hot were sliced on top just for colour and flare, it had delicious crispy chicken, the rice was perfect and the veg throughout tasty and bursting with flavour. My husband enjoyed a fantastic inch thick steak that came out sizzling with onions and mushrooms - the fries were great too. Two years or so ago we came and it was average at best but it's undergone a change in management and the manager is really good. It was a busy night when we went in, but they cleared a table specifically for us (a nice booth) and were very welcoming and helpful. Big shout out to the chef who that night, was working in hot kitchen on a 28° day. Can't imagine how hot the kitchen must have got. What an impressive chef. Please put in air con for her, she deserves it, only costs £800 lol, I couldn't see any round the back when I left. 🤣

My family and I visited the Hare and Hounds yesterday, the pub was extremely clean and well presented, which is a credit to the cleaning staff. The bar staff were friendly and gave advice in the menu and how long the food would take. The food was wonderful, lots of choices on the menu. Ollie the staff member who served me was a plesent chap. The food was hot and enjoyable.

Fab friendly service from Matt & Claire. Very welcoming especially as we took our dogs, and they were very accommodating. Would recommend!

It's about 20 years since I was last here (I live locally) and was very surprised by our lack luster experience yesterday. The young man behind the bar could hardly be bothered to come and speak to us, when we asked if it was ok to sit anywhere, and later when ordering food I thought he was very unhelpful. The pub was quite empty for the whole time we were there. As my friend had chosen food which was not available, a young woman came over and explained suitable alternatives and she was brilliant, very friendly and very helpful. The young man seemed to snatch empty glasses and plates from our table and certainly did not return our smiles - what a misery ! The other staff members were friendly and this is a convenient place to meet up for lunch and a chat but we will not be rushing back anytime soon.

Great service and brilliant food served from Matt! He didn’t disappoint when I wanted extra chilli on my spicy fries and boneless chicken! Food was lovely, thank you.

My friend booked for 3 of us for lunch today and we were very satisfied with the food and service we received. The meals are very good value, the quality of food was excellent. I wasn’t expecting my food to be so tasty but the young lady who prepared my 5 oz rump steak cooked it to perfection - the accompanying chips, mushrooms, and onion rings were also very tasty. Will definitely be eating there again and would recommend to anyone wanting good value, well cooked food.

We popped in for a quick lunch and were disappointed that the new menu didn’t have the fantastic meat-free burger on it. However, this made us choose something else and we were not disappointed! The milk chicken burger was succulent and tasty, the ‘extra fish’ fish ‘n’ chips great value, but the biggest WOW was the sizzling halloumi platter which was A-MAY-ZING!!! Lovely, friendly staff in a comfortable setting made this an absolute pleasure. Thank you - we will be back!

Had a really nice meal. Simple food but good quality with very good service. Good value for money. Has improved greatly from last visit and will return again. Would like to see more beer from local breweries.

Everything was great, food, service and cleanliness were all top notch. We go out on a regular basis and it's unusual for everyone to be happy with their meal but Tuesday was a triumph, which was great because it was my choice of venue, many thanks Jenny

The Mega Gyros was plentiful and very tasty. The Wife loved the Gammon. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Changing channel to watch Sky Sports was not a burden to ghe staff member. Loved the whole experience

Took my mum for lunch recenlty. The service was brilliant and the pub has a really cosy feel. The food was lovely and great portion sizes too. We'll definitely be back!

This is a lovely local pub. The staff are fantastic and really make the place: Matt, Claire, Joe, Amy, Ollie, Jenny and all. They are incredibly helpful and accommodating and I can’t praise them enough. The food is quite good: had two lovely meals from the new menu recently.

We popped in to the pub and had a meal while the car was being serviced locally and so pleased we did. A lovely friendly pub and Matt who served us did a great job. The food came quickly and pipping hot and it’s not typical chain pub , but proper home cooked food ( the batter on the fish was 10/10 ) so light and crispy and moreish. We have learned this is a new menu and I can’t recommend it enough. I will certainly be back soon for another meal.

We are in most weeks and it’s one of our favourite pubs and places to eat. The whole team are so lovely and friendly , even when we’re in with all our kids or just us. Matt is so friendly and helpful and takes time to talk through the menu with great recommendations. It’s more like catching up with friends. 5*

The Hare and Hounds in Dore is a lovely quaint pub in the heart of Dore Village, Sheffield. Matt and the welcoming team fitted us in for a chicken n mix sharer on Mother,s day,when they were really busy,which was really tasty and definitely recommended for a light snack.Thanks to all for a very good quick service,and lovely food,we,ll definitely be back .

We had Mother’s Day lunch today and Matt and the team were amazing. We were a party of 10 and they catered to us wonderfully. Very friendly, made us laugh and the entire experience was lovely. This was our first visit but won’t be our last!

Cosy pub with friendly helpful staff who worked together as a team to make it a lovely visit with a nice atmosphere. Matt went out of his way to make us all feel welcome (5 adults, 5 children) as did the lady serving on the bar. The kitchen staff made sure our meals were exactly what we wanted and it arrived within a reasonable time and all served together. Not usually a fan of sizzling pubs but enjoyed this visit and will definitely return.

We had delicious food to celebrate Mother’s Day and friendly and efficient service from Matt.

Just wanted to leave a quick thank you review, because we recently visited the Hare and Hounds with our father who is currently recovering from a stroke and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We just put our head in the door to ask if there were hot drinks so we could sit in the front beer garden to enjoy the very rare (but still cold) late winter sunshine. The bar staff were fab, suggested going to a different part of the outdoor space where it would be less exposed to the wind, waving us through a shortcut to get there in the wheelchair, showing us the patio heater and just generally running around to make sure we were able to get some sunshine for a few minutes in the wheelchair without getting too cold. We were only staying for a cuppa and some crisps, but the care and attention was really welcome, THANK YOU!

Last time we were in the Hare & Hounds was about 40 years ago on a King Ecgbert school reunion 😊 Then Sunday we dropped a challenge on them and they were very helpful. Great takeaway food. Matt & Clare were very helpful. The food was excellent. Definitely on the list to drop in the next time we are in Dore. Thank you

Just had drinks , but due to loads of young children at 6pm, not all well controlled, there was a long delay for food. I arrived later, with colleague, just for drinks

Jenny and the team were just brilliant providing a funeral wake. Great lunch buffet, teas, coffees. Nothing was too much trouble. Service was great. Enjoyed immensely by our 50+ guests. Excellent value. Thank you.
