Union Jack Fish & Chips Dore in Sheffield

Diabolical fish and chips!! Luke warm, bland and overpriced! £8.30 for a regular Cod - seen bigger goldfish in a mates kitchen!!! Over £15 for regular cod, chips and peas! Would not recommend and won’t be going again!

Quick, friendly and efficient service on a busy Friday night, but the fish chips were expensive and disappointing. Chips pale and floppy, i.e. undercooked, batter on fish soggy. First time I've tried this fish and chips shop. Won't go again.

We visited here today for the first time. Went for fish and chips but decided to try the Thai food. It was absolutely delicious and so tasty. We will definitely be returning and can highly recommend.

Dore is very lucky to have Tarin she is such a great Thai cook ! 🇹🇭. I had pad Thai and my friend had fried rice . They were both so delicious . I have had a lot of this food & this ranks very highly in my opinion . 5 stars and we will be back .

A bit below average, fish is not very big and was quite mushy and the chips tasted like frozen no flavour.

Popped down for lunch today and had the Chicken Massaman curry. Came with boiled rice and tasted delicious and filled me nicely! Great service too :) Look forward to sitting outside next time!

Had fish and chips from here a few times and has always been good. First time trying their Thai food today and it’s absolutely amazing! Tastes so yummy and freshly cooked. Will definitely be back again!

My son enjoyed the cod & chips he wanted. I tried the Thai green curry & was happy with my choice - fresh & healthy food, prepared on the premises.

Doesn’t even deserve a star food is absolutely shocking, Use to go here all time, but been goin downhill for years and now hit rock bottom especially yesterday when my daughter got food poisoning from there!!! not happy will not be returning will be seeking legal action

Seems like a good chippy overall, very good fish cake butties and a few weeks ago I tried small fish and chips although I wished I put my own salt and vinegar on as the staff member put loads of salt on, she did say tell me how much but can't tell when others are doing it. Had to go back for more vineger as it was very salty. I went in and asked if I can have more vineger man said of course put as much on as you want, but why couldn't I do that to begin with? They use one of those salt pots with about 10 holes in so beware as just need a little sprinkle. Saying this, they were very friendly though and will come again.

Top mushy peas..to artform levels..!! ( lived in Dore till I was 18..I'm now 59 and live away in Lancashire but visited yesterday....but the chippy's still v good)

Well cooked good portions and served with a smile ☺ If customers like smiling just turn up with cash 👍

First visit as I always seem to either have no loose cash or miss the opening times...Staff were lovely, I had small fish and chips ..fish was fresh and flaked beautifully, are came home hot...chips were traditional chippy chips...both crunchy and soft mix... depending on your fave.... The quality was excellent and the wall was full of people munching happily before they continued their walks.... Definitely a winner.

Definitely the best fish and chips in south west Sheffield. Steve usually cooks the fish to order so it's always lovely and hot. Always cheerful and friendly service as well.

Absolutely brilliant fish and chip shop. Really good food and great staff make this our place of choice at least twice a week. Try the middle cod, it is superb, thick chunks of fish in tasty batter. You will not be disappointed.

Got fish and chips from here recently they were the worst Iv had in a long time . The batter on the fish had that stodgy uncooked lining inside, the fish was not fresh and had a strange smell I couldn't eat it . What a shame but how can you get batter so wrong when that's all you do ?? Thought we would try this place again they were as bad as before soggy batter with some of the fish actually raw , Undercooked chips ..just awful
