A most welcoming village pub with a range of local beer and others on draughty. We were to early for meals but enjoyed a relaxing few hours in the pub

Thoroughly enjoyable. Either eat in the convivial atmosphere of the pub, or pop into the small restaurant to sample the good quality food and service that the whole hotel gives.

Dined here a couple of times before, normally great.. Although the food was good again, my poor review is based on the very poor ( and what i consider deliberate) service.. it was quite obvious a member of staff was going out if her way to make my experience a bad one.. Wont be going back…

I’ve been coming here for some years now and what a warm welcome I get after a two hour drive from Scotland. I always get the same, Oat milk Latte and porridge. Done to perfection. Karen who always serves me is a little ray of sunshine who always seems to brighten up my morning. Absolute five star service from Karen and the team. Always a pleasure to visit.

Beer was good....20 mins plus to wait for food even though near empty on a Monday lunch. Wasn't worth the wait....poor food

Ordered delivery service which was excellent. The food was extremely good and arrived fresh and hot.

Great Chinese takeaway, fresh and ready within 15 minutes to collect. Recommend peking style chicken and spring rolls.

Not good, food cold, cabbage totally raw, pork fatty, soup cold, bread stale and returned, we were discounted two meals and the soup but after waiting nearly an hour and twenty mins it was very disappointing, we booked and they had to move table round in a freezing side room, booked ahead for 11. Yorkshire puddings were good. Pleasant couple but not up to scratch

Booked in during a family trip away and was incredibly disappointed. All roast dinners were swimming in thick flavourless gravy. The trio of yorkshires were essentially a soup. I’m unsure where they buy the gammon from as it tasted off? We all played a game of fish for our dinner. I cannot even describe how much gravy was on the plates. The potatoes and yorkshires tasted like they’d been pulled out of a deep fryer? We then asked for a dessert menu just to see the options, to which the waitress had to hand write it and proceeded to slap it down and walk off….only to never return. Maybe the chef was off. But I absolutely would not recommend this place for a Sunday roast.

Fantastic food. Burgers are great. A new dish, chicken waffle was tasty too. Welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

It had been a while since we had been. We ate in the snug which was nicely decorated and comfortable. We both had fish and chips which were excellent. However my highlight was the delicious trio of lemon desserts . Lovely service thank you . We will be back

Booked a family meal for my dad's birthday at Akebar. The Sunday lunch was fantastic. Great portion sizes, lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back
