Visited 4 times in last few weeks. Savouries look appetising and coffee was good, but.... Last 2 visits left a poor impression. The cake selection was minimal. Staff need to focus on customers. I don't want to be ignored while staff chat with each other, nor do I expect to be ignored by someone intent on studying her phone!

Lovely little cafe that we visited twice whilst on holiday in Askrigg. Stuffed cookie was divine. Americano and cappuccino sorted our caffeine fix. Only problem was black tea had milk in it , which we didn't realise until we had left. That said would definitely go back.

We arrived to an empty car park in a group of six cars, when we entered the shop 2 or 3 at a time we were told we should of phoned ahead of arrival we were made to feel un welcome and will never use this place again we were all really shocked at how rude the owner was I would not recommend this place at all shockingly bad attitude.

Great service and great food. Chef obliged me in spite of being 15 mins past his no breakfast notification. Very friendly. Quite a discovery this place, which is a bit tucked away. Will definitely be back. Just how cafés should be.

Verrrrrry slow service and I'm so sad to write that my sister had a long dark hair in her fish cake. They brought our food out over an hour later and then still didn't bring out the 1 year olds kids meal until after we'd got ours. Sorry to say I wouldn't come here for food again.

There are three pubs/restaurants/hotels (?) in Askrigg. We have been coming here for over 30 years and seen so many changes in all three we feel really qualified to comment on the latest change. The latest change is The Kings Arms is now the best place to have an amazing Sunday Lunch with such a fantastic atmosphere. We sat in the bar area which has the most relaxing atmosphere made all the better for not having a television spoiling everyone’s delightful experience. With friendly dogs very welcome and space to relax and enjoy a local pint of Askrigg Ale ( brewed just down the road) this is truly the place to be. Where locals rub shoulders with us out of towners and all get on so well who can’t help but just relax and enjoy yourself. Our lunch was a delight and so filling it was amazing. Arriving hot and prompt I cannot recommend the food more. You do not have to travel any further for the best of times and I can only add, book in advance to avoid disappointment. Lastly I did ask for a doggie bag at the end and came away with more than I expected, see my photo - This was a joke by the way, simply added for cuteness!!

We were staying in the village and went to the White Rose for an evening meal. The bar area was quite busy - it being a Friday night, but the bar staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful. When we ordered we were offered the choice of remaining in the bar area or sitting in the restaurant area to eat and we chose the latter. Our meals were all very good and reasonably priced and waiting staff were pleasant and efficient. The beer was well kept too!
