We arrived to an empty car park in a group of six cars, when we entered the shop 2 or 3 at a time we were told we should of phoned ahead of arrival we were made to feel un welcome and will never use this place again we were all really shocked at how rude the owner was I would not recommend this place at all shockingly bad attitude.

Delicious ice creams and cakes. We sat outside in warm sunshine. Really good path from the car park to the parlour. Lovely employee singing coming from the kitchen as they were closing up! Made us smile.

Didn't even manage to get to the cafe as there is a long walk on uneven ground from the carpark. We tried pushing my wheelchair up there, but the surface is uneven and it just wouldn't move. Really disappointed as we were really looking forward to trying the ice creams and milkshakes. Maybe something on the website about ♿ access would be helpful.

What a wonderful find! Open weekends at the moment and so welcoming even in the wild January weather! We visited twice during our holiday and had a wonderful experience on both occasions. Delicious toasties, waffles, pancakes and drinks. And of course, ice cream! (Had to be done, even in January!). The owner and staff were friendly, helpful and fun! Barn beautifully converted, with a lovely mezzanine and a very welcome woodburner! Just the best!

Such a gem of a place! We stopped for lunch after visiting a nearby waterfall and had such a nice time we stated for ice cream. They were really helpful with my gluten allergy, offering to scoop ice cream from a fresh tub and very understanding of our barky little dog. The staff really created a warm and welcoming atmosphere and we'll definitely go back. Lovely jacket potato too and gorgeous sundaes.

The best creamiest ice cream ever, and what do expect when the ice cream is made on the owners farm using their own jersey milk. The portion sizes are very generous but I always manage 3 scoops just to try the different flavours, of which there is an amazing variety and always changing. The staff are so friendly and happy it has such a lovely atmosphere when you walk into this beautiful converted barn you instantly feel valued as a customer. Anyone in the Dales needs to visit this little gem of a place, guaranteed you’ll agree it’s the BEST.

Lovely ice cream shop with a big range of different flavours. I got a scoop of the cherry crumble which was really lovely! Good sized portion for a single scoop. Very creamy texture with very good cherry flavour and pieces of biscuit in. The cone was also good and tasted fresh. Pleasant staff, and average prices for the ice cream. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Mixed quality. Two of us had fruity flavours ice cream and were very happy. One had pistachio ice cream which was bland and two of us had cafe latte ice cream which tasted insipid. Not convinced it had ever seen coffee All five ice creams were quick to melt on a very cool day as well. Nice cones and a great barn conversion but I’ve had better ice cream in the Dales at Brymor

We stopped here for a light lunch and ice cream. The staff are all very cheerful and welcoming, as well as being dog friendly. We had the pea & mint soup with a cheese scone....delicious. There were just to many flavours to choose from so had three scoops; Malteser, Rolo and Lemon Meringue. A fantastic place to stop off.

We came especially to look at the creamery! We fancied just a cup of tea each, we came into the cafe and told to wait behind the line! We never saw the sign !! We waited nearly 10 minutes to be seated and a large queue developed we were all just not sure what was happening! Eventually we were seated after what seemed quite a while we decide fed to find a cup of tea elsewhere! The venue was lovely and lots of lovely bits and bobs to buy but the lady in charge was not welcoming and took way to long! Hence the mediocre review :-(

Called on a whim on our way from Leyburn to Hawes and my goodness, I’m glad we did! My son offered to treat us both to an ice cream - wow! What an an amazing array of flavours....I chose the black currant cheese cake and apple crumble and the boy had Christmas pudding and rum and raisin. Both were absolute triumphs....I’ve tasted MANY ice creams over my 53 years but this was, hands down, the best. Really friendly staff and generous portions not to mention the amazing view. Can’t wait to visit again VERY soon.

The folks behind Wensleydale Ice Cream Palour believe in using only the best natural produce available, and the high quality shines through in every single item on their menu! I'm not surprised that their ice cream is so uniquely delicious because only Jersey milk from their own herd is used! What a rare find! Dairy connoisseurs know that Jersey cows produce only A2 milk proteins, which are more easily digestible than standard milk, meaning even the dairy intolerant can enjoy the great taste of Wensleydale Ice Cream. Being a tourist from a hot tropical climate with probably the highest number of ice cream parlours per capita, I must admit that the ice cream and milkshake I had today ranks as probably one of the best in the world. To the folks at Wensleydale Ice cream parlour - Whatever magic you're working, keep at it and your ice cream will travel the world!

I had a wonderful spa experience at Forest Spa and a decent stay at the lodge yesterday. I really wish I could give the estate a 5 star rating, but there were a handful of things that just didn’t quite meet the mark. For starters, it was very confusing how to get to the spa - signage definitely needs to be increased. Once in the spa, the lockers are located in the waiting/dining room which was odd in my opinion (I’ve been to a ton of spas and never seen this before). The staff were extremely friendly and my massage/scrub/facial session was amazing, which is why I wish I could give them 5 stars. For those that come for a spa day, you preselect your lunch choices at check in. It was clear the snacks were a separate charge, but the form made it appear as though the dessert was part of the package. At checkout, I was surprised that I was being charged 9 quid for a small scoop (seemed like half a scoop honestly) of sorbet with a little bit of granola. Pretty absurd. As for the lodge itself, check in was extremely confusing as it was hard to find the reception desk in the dark (since it gets dark around 4pm now) and then once checked in, they give you a map and leave you to find your room on the massive property (not just one central building). After lugging my bags to the reception desk (most of the way was gravel so had to carry my suitcase), I had to lug my bags back to where I started and ended up going in circles trying to find my room in the dark since there was little signage or help available. I ended up having to go back to reception and confirm where I needed to go and eventually found my way. This definitely put a damper on my spa day and completely reversed the relaxation I experienced earlier. Once in my room, the shower looked like an accessible room type shower (even though it was definitely not an accessible room since on the second floor with no elevator) with no door or barrier dividing the shower floor from the rest of the floor and I knew that was going to be interesting - I was in fact right once taking a shower. The bathroom floor was soaking wet after my shower, but thankfully it was only me staying in the room so I was able to use the extra towels provided for a second guest to mop up the water. The room was spacious and cute and the bed comfy, however, the pillows had a weird smell to them that almost made me think they weren’t clean. Dinner at the Coach House was nice, however, I paid 50 quid for a drink, water (that I didn’t ask for) and a main dish - seemed excessive, but I guess that’s what you get when staying at a place like this. Overall, the staff and service I received at the spa, lodge and restaurant were all fantastic. Just really wish the estate was able to meet the mark on all other areas.
