I ordered some of the traybakes by post last week so that we could have them on Father's Day. We had family visiting too. The cakes were lovely and very much enjoyed by all of us. Very good service. We did also visit this teashop on 2 occasions when we were staying in the area in April. Had lovely meals and service was excellent too. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Oh what a fab lil quaint country tea room with such a huge varied menu. Opted for the soup of the day and cheese scone…. Absolutely yummy! Carrot & butternut squash… and my man had home made quiche with an array of salad 😋 .. only came in for coffee and cake!!!! … so had the savoury and had to select one of at least 12 cake choices to take away!!… that was decisions!!. Very reasonably priced … when in Aysgarth u must visit. Oh and I was told the lovely kitchen cook makes the daily soup and the wonderful cheese scones… I wonder if she makes all those scrummy cakes?! Will b back xx

Visited on Saturday with my partner about 20 mins before they were due to close, they made us more than welcome and allowed us still to order food, which was absolutely delicious BTW. All quality produce and home bakes, we ended getting extra to take away. The young girls serving us were so friendly and provided an excellent service, never once made us feel rushed. We will definitely go back and may even do an on line order to treat our family 😁

Drinks and cakes inside are great, but sorry to say the take away cappuccino is really quite bad. Way too much milk added so what results is in fact a lot of hot milk. We returned them, got new ones and these were just as bad...

Stopped off here after visiting asygarth falls. This is such a lovely place, the service was really friendly and welcoming. I had the cream tea which was amazing!!!! Best scones I've tasted loads of cream and jam! Had tea which came with extra water and plenty of milk. My partner had an americano and a almond and raspberry shortbread which he said was lovely! Definitely worth a visit:)

We popped in for lunch while visiting the falls, it’s dog friendly and has a hugh choice of home made cakes and a big menu, we had a ham toastie which had a big chunks of ham, sausage sandwich with plentiful amount inside and lovely quiche too. A good serving and great value and also a dog meat treat bag which was so nice with chunks of ham chicken and sausage in it plus some biscuits. So many choices of teas also and the young lady so so happy and friendly. Quite possibly the best tearoom I have been to.

We went there after our visit to the nearby waterfall. Tea shop allows dogs and muddy boots! It is a quirky little traditional tea shop offering afternoon teas, sandwiches, toasties and baked items. We shared an afternoon tea with and it was enough for two of us. I did order an additional drink as afternoon tea only comes with one pot of tea or coffee. The food was delicious, tasties were absolutely gorgeous so was scone. Cakes were lush and I ended up buying few more to take away. Staff is really friendly and atmosphere is lovely.

The perfect location for a tea shop next to Aysgarth falls. We dropped in for ice cream only. It’s some of the best ice cream we’ve tasted and they are not shy with the scoops! Bonus! The setting inside is wonderful. Tastefully laid out with a super choice of cakes and food. It was busy too, so I imagine this tea room has a steady stream of satisfied customers. So if you can go, then grab a seat. If you have to wait, stay. I think you may enjoy this gem! An easy stop off either walking on the trails or passing through the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Firstly I have ordered from millrace previously and they have been good however I’m sorry to say I have recently ordered an 8 piece selection box from mill race & it was absolutely vile firstly the raspberry & almond slice was very small almost like a discarded end piece & mushy balled up into cling film but then as I continued to try the rest it got much worse the tiffin was bitter, powdery & dry with no taste, the caramel slice was again mushy & horrible & made me stay up all night feeling very sick the lemon shortbread much like the first one was incredibly mushy & looked/felt undercooked overall I had to throw away all of it as it was all very unpleasant & inedible, I have contacted mill race & as of yet not received a single reply. I have included pictures two of them is what I received and one is what I expected

The tea was nice so they deserve one star, however one member of staff was quite rude, I was very surprised by it and it was disrespectful. We were asking for a big table so we can sit together, and were refused, but it’s fine. After that we ordered our tea, but after the tea arrived around 2 mins later the staff came to our table and asked us finished our tea asap, I still had a lot of tea. I can’t believe I needed to do shots with of my tea in a tea shop😔 And when I was leaving, I just found they allowed others to sit together. If the tea shop doesn’t want to service people who only order tea in a rush hour, that will be better to mention at the beginning or on menu.

Proprietor was very rude Ask to sit together and was told no we had to sit across two tables when another group of six was allowed to sit together. After a table next to one of ours opened up we ask if we could push the tables together and free up the bigger table. We were told no as they wanted us to leave as we had not ordered food,we still had full cups of tea and had not been there for more than 30 minutes. When as we were leaving I raised it in a conversational manor that we had felt rushed and they had been difficult about us sitting together. The Proprietor then called me rude. It was a shame because it seems like a lovely tea room. If they had wanted us to order food if they sat this should have been made clear in the beginning.

Amazing!! Came for a walk to the falls and happened upon this wonderful tearoom. Had no idea it was there and was overwhelmed with the quality and choice of the food. Three of us had afternoon teas which were massive, loads of choice, really generous and the staff were happy to accommodate minor tweaks. I had a tuna salad (off menu) and am gluten free and dairy free and again they were happy to accommodate! For the quality of the food, the service and the afternoon tea it's somewhere I would have thought would need pre booking but they had it all freshly made for us in such a short time! The warm cheese scone with Wensleydale cheese and chutney is a favourite of ours. The biggest positive to us is they provide a toddler/pre schooler menu with healthy choices. You might think that would be common practice but sadly no and it was amazing to see. Next time we’re holidaying in the Dales, we’ve decided we’ll only visit here for lunch! Couldn't be bettered! At first glance, the prices were 'realistic' rather than inexpensive...but, my goodness, what good value they turned out to be! Very generous portions of tasty, very fresh food (we can personally vouch for both the quiche and bacon roll, but we saw other enviable meals served to other diners during our visit!). In fact, we enjoyed it so much we couldn't resist an unecessarily generous selection from the takeaway counter for our supper (such a huge quantity packed up for us that some of it had to go in the 'fridge for breakfast the next day!). Will certainly return here whenever in the area...don't change anything!

Normally my ideal cafe contains three important elements: a pleasant view, good food, and nice staff; however, the Mill Race Teashop can claim five; not only an amazing takeaway service but also the best pork pies in the world (further turbo amazing if had warm)! So, with a bridge side spot overlooking Aysgarth Falls and the River Ure (or Yore for any heritage fanatics) I don’t believe the scenery bit requires any further explanation; stunningly beautiful. Now to the food; one of the reasons why I have upped my training regime is the scones and the pork pies. As for the lunchtime platter for two; a real wholesome treat, especially if you’ve been out walking and have a bit of a hangry on. Oh, and the cakes! Wash it down with a great range of tea and you’ll see why I’m a repeat visitor there. The staff are lovely; all of them! 😁 So, with the three main elements covered, the fourth aspect is the takeaway service. If we get visitors (we live within 5 miles) then we order their takeaway cream teas. I do heartily recommend this; especially if you want someone else to do the catering in your own home. All of the amazing scones and cakes mentioned above plus some nice sandwiches (with proper filling) make this a great option. They also bake birthday cakes; the chocolate cake for my Mum’s birthday and the coffee and walnut for our friends’ anniversary were both amazing! Finally, I am known by them as the “pork pie man” for my regular consumption of their pork pies. As I say, they are the best on the planet and if you are able to grab one warm from them it will be a life-changing experience. Many thanks again all for your hospitality! Sorry we’ve not seen you for a while but we’ve had to spend some serious “scone related” time in the gym! See you soon 😁👍xxxxx

I cannot praise this place highly enough. We visit for lunch every time we are in the area, and have been about 10 times now. The ham and cheese toasties are to die for, and I would indeed choose for my last meal on earth. ALL the food is consistently great, EVERY visit. All the excellent cakes are made by the team who run the cafe. Please visit if you are in the area. You will not be disappointed, and I defy you not to leave a 5 star review.

We happened to come across this tea room and loved it. Friendly service, amazing value, definitely recommend the afternoon tea (we shared between two).

We attempted to visit the cafe but were quite rudely turned away. We were told the cafe was full but we would have been happy to wait but when I suggested that and we were very curtly told the wait would be very long. The person was very rude and we left as quickly as we were turned away. We will know to avoid this cafe in the future.

We visited for my husband’s birthday. He was greeted with a birthday card hand written by Jake Jones - such a lovely touch. We had the 6 course taster plus the phenomenal cheese course and my husband also received an additional chocolate cake with the petite fours. The presentation was excellent throughout, the flavours and combinations sublime! My husband had the wine pairing and the Sommelier explained every one so well. We couldn’t fault our evening! We will definitely return and highly recommend it.

LOVE the food and coffee in here. The people working there are really kind and will help you with what you need. We purchased their cheese scones, lemon cake, rocky road, 2 different ginger cakes, and tartlet 😋 We will be going again to try more things from the Deli and Pantry 👌
