Wilfred Deli and Pantry in Richmondshire

LOVE the food and coffee in here. The people working there are really kind and will help you with what you need. We purchased their cheese scones, lemon cake, rocky road, 2 different ginger cakes, and tartlet 😋 We will be going again to try more things from the Deli and Pantry 👌

Top-notch all around! You can tell you're not dealing with a run of the mill bakery as the place looks almost as good as the baked goods. However, the selection is subtle and understated...yes, I know what you're thinking, "who isn't selling a sausage roll?". But oh boy, who sells sausage rolls like this...that's a whole other story! The service was warm and welcoming, like I've been coming here my whole life.

The food and drink is absolutely amazing everytime. I get my lunch and coffee here nearly everyday when I'm working. Chris is such a sweet man and never fails to make me smile, the same with all the staff. Will always recommend. ♡♡♡

Me and gf seduced by the cake in the window, drawn in with the 'Death by chocolate' slab of cake. Couldn't decide what to get as ALL looked appetising. Went for slice of that, slice of banana loaf and honeycomb/ white choc flapjack. OMG the flapjack was amazing... Stunning, soft, squishy and tasted delicious. Shame dont live nearby as would've gone back and cleared of them all :) Lovely place, smelt lovely, lovely staff and hoping come back soon. A gem in Richmond.

Every time I go in here you're made to feel welcome .. even as a rough looking Geordie bloke with a terrible sense of humour. The cakes and coffee are excellent and at good prices relative to others nearby. Lovely owner and staff!!! Helpful and friendly! Every time ... Just wanted to get around to this review as it's overdue and well deserved.

Popped in to get takeaway lunch, awesome sausage rolls, cheese & tomato pastry, chocolate 🍫 cake and carrot 🥕 cake, and 2 cappuccinos. Great value. All was delicious freshly made and boxed 📦 ready to take away for our alfresco lunch in the town square.

The cakes here are amazing! Great deli too but don’t go too late for the cakes as they sell out of the best ones quite quickly

Absolutely fantastic deli. Every time I go to Richmond I have to stop here for pastries and sweet treats. Beautifully arranged shop with excellent produce and wonderful staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Great coffee and a lovely chat!

Great coffee. Normally lovely staff but on one occasion I was asked to add my own milk to my flat white. Not the best barista experience. I wasn’t rude only I asked for less milk as UK cafe do add too much milk, too much froth, to their flat white coffee. I would definitely visit again to buy a coffee but expect the barista to kindly listen to my request for less milk. Thank you Wilfred. You are wonderful.

So fabulous to have this deli/coffee/homemade bakery store in Richmond. Best coffee, fabulous pastries and lovely products to buy. Clare and Alfie both so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be frequenting whenever in town.

Fantastic food - randomly called in here and man the sausage rolls and bacon and cheese pastries were out of this world. Coffee was lovely too. Great friendly owner - highly recommended

I ran in the shop when I seen the scones as they looked incredible, couldn’t wait to get home to try them, I buttered them as that’s how I like them, bitterly disappointed with the taste, so dry and tasteless, I was gutted, it went straight in the bin, my husband said the same, dry and horrible, what a waste of money, but couldn’t eat them, won’t be returning to the shop.

Best cheese scone I’ve ever had!! Food is absolutely delicious and great coffee, a perfect place to grab lunch or a treat. Highly recommend!

It was my first time visiting Wilfred Deli and it will not be the last! I had an amazing courgette filo pie with couscous, followed by an equally amazing slice of chocolate cake. Highly recommend!

What a stunning little deli! I popped in for lunch today as the beautiful selection of fresh, home made options displayed in the window caught my eye. The lady was so friendly and came over and came over to explain what everything was. I opted for couscous salad and a warm spinach pie(delicious). This is definitely the place to go if you want fresh, good quality options that are very reasonably priced! I can’t recommend enough. Looking forward to making it a regular option for lunch🙌

I pop in about 3-5 times a week every week. What can I say, I absolutely love Team Wilfred, their produce and their service. And yes, I know I’ve done a review before, but I’ve realised it was a year ago and this place just keeps getting better :)

Called in this shop today for coffee, cake and sausage rolls all were so delicious. The man serving was so polite would definitely recommend going in here.

Best coffee in Richmond by a country mile and if you can leave without buying a scone, sausage roll or some sort of yummy treat, you’re a psycho.

Some nice stuff, i'd say overpriced however there's not many other higher end delis around so realistically the price reflect the quality available locally.

Dropped in today just to grab a coffee and cake. Lovely place, wonderful smells, very good coffee and cakes. The man serving was exceptionally pleasant also!

Best coffee in town by far, proper good flat whites - as an Aussie I can confirm. Went to Mocha before couldn’t drink the two we had ordered, then found this awesome spot. Not to forget… the best sausage roll I’ve had in the UK. Ended up leaving with beans two coffees and a sausage roll for around a tenner! Great bargain!

The best place to eat in Richmond. We had the best evening eating at the Wilfred Canteen for a supper club. 5 course meal, every course was delicious. The deli itself is fantastic, a great selection of sweet and savory treats. A must visit, especially if you're wanting something a little extra special.

Lovely little deli! Got some Montgomery's cheddar, lime and kiwi pickle and toffee vodka here and they were all amazing. Staff were lovely, friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely visit again.

I finally made it to breakfast at ‘The Canteen’. The relatively new walk-in cafe down the leafy lane Newbiggin. A gorgeous little light and airy beamed room with views of the gleaming steel kitchen area where the magic happens. I had a piping hot plate of soft, fluffy scrambled eggs with perfect, ultra crispy bacon on a base of tangled greens. Absolutely scrumptious. My favourite coffee was served via an individual stove top espresso maker - very cute and cool. These guys have transformed my Richmond experience with their fabulous deli and now this canteen is the icing on the carrot cake.

Looked wonderful but frittata was watery and tasteless. Plum tart was burnt disappointing

Our favourite deli in Richmond. The welcome is always warm, the sausage rolls are out of this world as is the homemade chilli, carrot cake...everything! A gorgeous little find well worth a visit. And great news that they've now opened 'sit down' along the street, Wilfred Canteen. Love this place!

Had an absolutely superb flat white as it opened at 9am. Only the butcher from around the corner had got in first. I reckon they should open from 8am but good things come to those that wait.

Excellent! Our 1st time visiting Wilfred’s and their cakes and coffee are wonderful…. A pleasant change to have good coffee served by people who care about what they do. Can’t praise them enough and look forward to going back soon. A must visit for anyone visiting Richmond.

Visited Wilfred's Deli today, a wonderful choice of healthy homemade delights, some tasty treats as well. The sausage rolls are top notch and the scones are amazing. Well worth a visit, I will be back.

Good quality food, the sausage rolls in particular are excellent. I like the range of products and the unusual cheese selection. Fresh bread available to order a couple of days a week. I visit every Sunday.

Stopped here on the way home for some lunch. Sausage rolls were really tasty, and my kids said hot chocolate was yummy. Staff were good at recommending both cheese and wine to match our tastes, which we bought and took home for later. (Both were great btw).

Atmospheric deli with unusual and delicious food. Just had an intriguing, super tasty slice of a Greek recipe, vegetable, filo pastry pie. Still warm from the oven no less. Something new every day, it's full of surprises. Thank you.

They have little competition in Richmond. Some excellent bought in products ,unfortunately lots of London markups . Mostly marked down for some lacklustre home made items. I’ll give them 4 stars when things taste better

Always friendly service with excellent cakes (carrot cake and mince pies particularly good), treats and selection of well chosen drinks. A favourite destination of our whenever in town. Can also recommend the bread from two dales bakery delivered Wednesday and Saturday.

We were just passing through Richmond having spent a few days in Barnard Castle when we noticed this little Deli. We bought some sausage rolls and a Scotch egg which we ate whilst out walking near Mukka. To say they were delicious is an understatement. The service was also really friendly so thank you and I hope we'll be passing by again so we can sample more of your scrumptious delights.

Visit the deli regularly for lunch, the food is really innovative, tasty and healthy thanks to all the organic vegetables used. It is a lovely pleasant environment and the staff are so friendly. Don't leave without trying their famous sausage rolls!

Having tried this Deli when we last stayed in Richmond, we felt compelled to go back to see if their very high standards had been maintained.Well praise be...they had, and some.It was difficult to pick a favourite, from the various savoury rolls, wonderful cheeses, salads and so on.But for me the Lemon Meringue Pie stoke the show and I have to say that we tried something every day we were in Richmond. I am a savoury kind of person, but the meringue pie had a wonderful balance of citrus and sweetness and the pastry was divine, with a crunchy finish.I understand that one of the owners mother makes the lemon curd for the pies.I hope I haven’t judged too soon, as I am just about to have a slice of their carrot cake, which I managed to grab on our final day, as on all previous days they had sold out.Lovely friendly people serving in the shop and the owner and his mother gave us the time of day. BRAVO!

Great find: light lunch of homemade soup, salmon en papillote with roasted squash. Delicious! Excellent bottle of rosé purchased too. Such a friendly, relaxed and personable welcome.

Came across this quaint deli in the heart of Richmond. My husband and I had our two dogs with us so we sat outside enjoying a cup of tea, blankets were provided to keep us warm. We watched people passing by, giving our two dogs attention whilst enjoying our tea. We will definitely be making a trip back to the Deli in the near future as the food inside was very tempting.

On our way driving home from Edinburgh my daughter and I stopped half way for lunch in Richmond.. We found this place and had the most amazing Tomato and sweetcorn soup. The owner was so lovely and friendly as was the other guy working with him who gave us the recipe. I wish we lived closer and could visit more often. I would highlyrecommend going here to eat or see what delights they have in the deli.

We were visiting Richmond for the morning when the sausage rolls shouted ‘try me!’ through the window.We tried, delicious alongside a salad of roast veg for me & rice for my husband.We washed down with hot chocolate - again very yummy without all the sprinkles, cream etc usually offered.Limited seating just one long table seats 7 or 8.So impressed we took some take-out. They made the most delicious sour dough ham sandwiches stuffed with Yorkshire ham and a Yorkshire curd tart & a coconut slice.All food was delicious - the deli is superb inside.The location is superb just off the market square along a narrow street with some lovely shops and a couple of galleries, Lucy Pittaway & Mackenzie Thorp.

What a beautifully set out eatery! A scrumptious selection of goodies to have whilst eating in and a tantalising display of produce to take away too. The staff were courteous and efficient and made the lunch visit an extra special treat . We’ll definitely be going back, when next in the area.

We went for a coffee and a piece of cake in the raining morning, the place is very cosy and the staff welcoming. Flat white coffees tasted really good. We tried the Traditional Yorkshire Curd Tart and a Ginger Cake, both excellent. Recommended place for a perfect coffee/cake warm-up stop.

This place is on Finklecstreet at the top end of Richmonds market centre heading towards MacKenzie Thorpes gallery.

Wandered past this coffee shop whilst on a day trip to Richmond with family. Excellent decaf coffee and quite pricey but very tasty cakes. Owner was very pleasant and welcoming, allowing us to stay past close whilst my partner breastfed our son, which was greatly appreciated. A good looking lunch menu which we didn't get the chance to try but certainly hope to return in future

Those.sausage.rolls. Fresh out the oven, amaze!!! Salad selection was highly original and tasty as was the quiche. Obs we had to try the cake - not too sweet and really rather good. Decor was cool too, but more up to date than the dying 80s presentation elsewhere in town had some good looking foody gift choices too.

Love this place. Weekly lunch treat. Looking forward to seeing the renovation.

We ran into Wilfred Deli by accident while walking around Richmond and stopped in for two coffees to go, The counter service was good and coffee fresh and hot.

While wandering around Richmond we found this super deli/coffee shop. We had coffee and some wonderful home baked cakes, and marvelled at all the other sweet and savoury delights on offer. Highly recommended.

Fantastic wee deli with a nice selection of delicious home made sandwiches, bread, cakes, snacks and other treats.Great selection of cheese (and great recommendation too! ) The mushroom frittata was fantastic and all washed down with some wine from London's Berry Bros & Rudd as a picnic sitting at the aude if the river. Worth stocking up here for picnics / hikes etc.

Stopped for a brew and a snack having been drawn in by the sausage rolls on display in the window. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and the sausage roll and Rhubarb & ginger cake were both excellent. Lots of nice deli treats to buy as well. Rather than go to the chains like Costa pop in here and support local shops - the food and drink are so much better.

Popped in at the end of lunch on a Monday - they were in the process of tidying up. Stock was low but they made me a delicious ham and cheese sandwich on the spot. It was very good - high quality bread, lovely ham and salad. Had coffee too, which was very good value . Looking around the deli - lovely range of cheeses and meats plus various bottles.

This is the most middle-class almost café I've been to. It's expensive but clean - the staff are lovely. Give it a go, it's interesting.

Definitely the most expensive sausage rolls I have bought the kids , but definitely worth it and the tastiest - especially when got out of the oven. Kept missing breakfast - only served until 11am and being too early for lunch - but at least the sausage rolls kept us going
