Just moved into the area 1st time in the fish and chip shop excellent fish sausages chips and gravy - great food

Absolute gem of a cafe. Doesn’t look much from outside but its a great little cafe. I’m a vegetarian and they happily swapped out the sausage and bacon fron the full english breakfast for wilted spinach and rocket and sourdough. Cooked lovely. Coffee is delicious too. Friendly staff. It was so goo that I came back for the second day of my stay.

We travel to attend gigs at The Parish about four times a year. We book hotel accommodation in the city and eat out in local restaurants. The Parish is an absolutely amazing asset to Huddersfield! We visit lots of different live music venues around the country and can say with all honesty, that The Parish is our favourite. The staff team are professional and create the perfect night out to promote live music …please help this amazing venue and team of dedicated staff to survive!

I was very much looking to a saturday evening curry which I ordered using the website promising 45 minute delivery. I phoned 90 minutes later to check where it was. The manager denied having received the order, was not only unapologetic but extremely rude and aggressive saying that it was not their responsibility. I spent the next three hours trying to have my payment refunded. In the managers defence he did eventually apologise for his earlier conduct. However, if you value your disposable income, free time and sanity stay well away.

Never a bad meal. Fish to die for and chips just how we like them. Nothing is ever too much trouble, service with a smile.

I ordered the curried chicken with rice and peas, tasted okay but nothing memorable. It had something missing, maybe more scotch bonnet and curry flavour. Fried dumplings were good. Not all options on the menu were available. I would consider going again to try another dish but only if I was in the area.

Hands down Great chips unfortunately let down by the queues waiting to order, 1 staff member when it's busy is just not enough. 8/3/25 Extra staff on tonight however it was more luck I got in b4 the queue. Still can't fault the food. The only downside is... It's cash only.

The food was OK but the cafe is full of signs telling you what you can't do. Really odd. Won't be going back.

Arrived for our 2.30 booking to find a sign - closed due to fire? Why are you taking bookings? We booked the day off work today..... Very disappointed. I have just received a a feedback from via email asking how it went today?

Nice food and great when you fancy a proper dinner without all the prep and washing up

Popped in for dinner whilst in the area for work. We didn't have a booking but space was available. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Poppadoms and chutneys were served and were good and served quickly along with draught Kingfisher. The main course of Veg Thali was really good. The mix of rice, alloo and saag dishes along with a naan, bhaji and superb chickpea curry made for a very filling meal. The waiters were friendly and service was efficient. They also kindly booked a cab for us to get back to our hotel.
