Me and my good lady had our silver wedding anniversary party here last night ,the landlady went above and beyond with the buffet 😋 superb what a great night and what a great pub will have to frequent this place more often

Nice pub, friendly staff, good view and dog friendly. Ticks all the boxes for a nice local boozer.

Wow... Visited this pub for the first time recently and absolutely loved it... Great decor and a great selection of beers at non silly prices. So glad I popped in and I will be back 😎

Very good place to end a hike around a Castle Hill. Cheeseburger was great but I was so starving I'm not sure I trust my opinion on this. The blond ale was very refreshing but again, it was a hot day and I was quite thirsty. Overall I was over the moon that I've found the place. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and the doggies are allowed inside. The pub has rather neutral decor. There's some seating outside.

Great little pub, does a limited range of burgers and pies but the food is great and the people/staff were absolutely brilliant, couldn't do enough to help us.

Good outside area with views of Castle Hill and Huddersfield. Great place to stop on the way up to and the way back down from a walk to Castle Hill.

Such a great pub which we regularly frequent. The staff are so warm and friendly and the premises is always kept clean and tidy, there is a nice family vibe and you always feel welcomed by the other patrons. We enjoy the pub quiz which is 8pm on a Tuesday where they put out lovely food for us to enjoy and we often go on a Friday for a bit of an unwind. Great pub great location close to castle hill and the surrounding area a must visit if your in the area.

Very pleasant Sunday lunchtime. Good beer, good surroundings, very attentive service. Definitely going back.

Lovely traditional pub, nice reasonably priced food. Very limited parking, so you may have issues on some days.

Absolutely stunning pub, beautifully dressed! Was not expecting it. The lady behind the bar was so lovely and inviting, the fires were on it was cozy and warm with good music. Will definitely be back. Can't wait for summer as the outdoor area looks amazing

Smashing little pub that breaks up the walk to Castle Hill! Quirky, warm & welcoming, with friendly bar staff. Can't beat sitting next to the warm log fire with a decent pint! Clean & well run. Definitely worth a visit!

Very good and traditional place near Castle Hill. I'll definitely visit this place again after a walk on fields ans mountains around as it feels so cosy. Thanks for your customer service. It was great and very cheap and good food. We didn't left anything.

Great decor, great beer. Friendly staff. Plenty of seats outside with a nice view.

The inside has an eery and empty feel to it. It's full of locals who gave us an odd look at we walked in. The beer garden is a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a pint in the sun. The prices are affordable and the beer is cold.

Very accommodating, very welcoming staff with hot drinks like a mocha, as they don't have a button for it they go the extra mile to make one for you. The tables inside have changed orientation, quiet pub but the parking has to be desired as some cars park ovr 2 bays.

Spent the evening with a live band for Halloween, got dressed up too, great staff wonderful night to be had by all highly recommended

Being a wheelchair user it is too cluttered with tables no chance of getting to the bar when i was there last night to see a band

The drinks were good, the place is good. But the attitude of the bartender was really weird. We were a South Asian group of six girls. She was quite impatient with us. Won't visit again.

Sat outside few weeks ago what a beautiful outside setting.Loads of seats and tables plenty distance apart good service. Much better than old Vic.Credit to new owners.

A great place with a great new Landlord. Sitting outside recently after the re opening due to the pandemic, I can see that the staff have been overwhelmed due to the unusual amount of customers on site. Well done though - I’m sure the Landlord appreciates everyone’s patience. Keep up the excellent work and thank you so much, it’s an awesome pleasure and venue.

Horrible people very rude held our wake there landlady rude to family members staff rude 👎

Went out for drink. Sat patiently at table waiting for waitress service as it said to on table instructions. Went to ask after 10-15 mins, and was told someone would be out. Waited another 5 minutes and walked off. Waitress who said someone would be out was knelt at window watching us walk off. Poor service. Would of frozen to death before getting drink. Which was strange as everyone else seemed to be going in to get their own :-(

Car park is full. No one in pub though. Needs some wheel clamping to sort it out.

My Company Yorkshire Blinds & Curtains of Huddersfield were invited to install blinds at the Victoria Hotel. It is so good to see such an investment being made into a local pub like this. I am sure it will do well and on that basis I give it a 5* review.
