The food was OK but the cafe is full of signs telling you what you can't do. Really odd. Won't be going back.

We used to call just to use the central heating and read the papers but the coffee is superb and so are the cakes !! What really makes this place though ,is the ridiculous humour ,warmth and friendship that every customer gets from Steve ,Helen ,Jane and the rest of the team . All food is well prepared and served and not overly priced. Steve just needs a loyalty card

Great quality food & Excellent service Being a food lover, the quality of the food I consume takes priority over anything else. I have never once had a bad meal at Marshmellow. Speedy serving and very well presented, making the food look even more delicious. Hot drinks spot on, very rich in taste and stay hot for quite some time! Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Location also very attractive, being close to the greenhead park and the town centre. Car park available across the road, free of charge. Very warm and friendly staff also, who make me feel very welcome everytime. Highly recommend, by far my favorite place to visit when hungry on a morning or early afternoon. 👌 Date of visit: July 2019

Usually walk to marsh mallow on a Sunday, weather permitting. Dogs not allowed inside but a nice sunny outside area in front of the cafe to sit in. The lovely lady that is waiting on, on a Sunday always brings our dog a sausage and makes a fuss if him. It's the great friendly staff that brings up back week after week. And great coffee by the way!

This was my first drop in at the Marshmallow cafe in Marsh, Huddersfield and it was a nice treat. I had a really well cooked bacon buddy and two excellent cappuccinos . I met an old colleague there and as the ambience was so lovely and unpretentious we chatted for two hours with not noticing the time flying by. So Marshmallow will see me again for sure.

our usual saturday visit before shopping; we had lunch, i fancied a tuna melt, this was on a panini roll with melted cheese [cheddar + mozzerella], it was good,i think next time i'd ask for some onion with it. hubby had a hot beef sandwich with caramellised onions, he polished that off quickly. i had plenty of tea left in my teapot so i decided to have some cake, i chose sweet potato + orange, it was very nice and filling! i need not have worried as my hubby finished it off, as well as his victoria sponge! which was washed down with a latte. we were replete and ready to shop.

Nice coffee, dangerously delightful cakes and friendly, smiling service. No this isn't a dream, but a reality in an otherwise busy main road venue in Marsh, Huddersfield. I've never been a fan of Costa or Wetherspoons as places like Marshmallow's are what a true coffee shop, cafe, newspaper-catch-up, chilling-out, watch-the-world-go-by, chat to your mates, place should be. Long may it prosper!

we called for lunch on a lovely sunny saturday. we both like Marshmallow's soup's, but it was a little too warm. after saying that, hubby had a hot beef 'n' onion teacake and i had an italian chicken panini, with a little side salad. i was looking at the cake selection with interest, but the panini was very generously filled, so i could'nt find room. my hubby decided he had room, so he had 'rhubarb + custard cake' which he managed to devour, along with another coffee. a very nice lunch which was made all the more pleasant with the friendly staff, enquiring after our well being.

I called in here yesterday afternoon. In truth ,initially , the most important aspect was whether they had a loo( I am at that age). I had been visiting the area and faced a journey back to the sunny side of the Pennines.I was so glad that I called (and not only for the obvious reason). The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the fayre very acceptable - and very reasonably priced. Not only were the staff friendly - I found myself in a conversation with a man who is a regular - he knows when he is on a good thing. With a café like this in the area why people would pack the KFC across the road is beyond me - the youngsters of today - eh?

Had chance to see what else was available, plenty of choices and all looked tasty and fresh. Nice to have a couple of tables outside, good for people watching or a crafty ciggy.I shall defo go again and spend a bit more time and money! These small independents need local support. They always ask how I'm doing and ask after the children. For a small village business, the service is 5 stars with personal touches that you won't find in the big chain coffee shops. Excellent coffees made more pleasant with personal touches of patterns on the top. Lovely salads paninis value for money. The only thing that spoilt it for me was seeing a couple of staff outside smoking once seeing them not wash their hands before serving food again. This is a shame and lets te cafe down.

Nice drinks and choice of cakes. Just what the area needs. Lots of space between tables, which some places fall down on - trying to cram to many in so customers can't have. Private conversation!

Called in to Marshmallow for lunch with friends one day. We had an excellent meal. The sandwiches were freshly made with delicious bread and plenty of filling. The toasties cooked to perfection and the Caesar Salad I had was delicious, lovely fresh salad with plenty of chicken and just the right amount of dressing. I was surprised when given a huge brown teacake and butter to go with it, the salad itself was very satisfying and for less than £5. The coffee is excellent and hot - the best ever at a very reasonable price. The café is very clean and inviting with outdoor seating ideal for this weather. The staff are friendly and helpful and have plenty of newspapers to read whilst waiting - although the service is very good. Parking and bus stops are close by. Will definitely go again.

I couldn't say that this is the best places for coffee in Huddersfield, as I haven't been to every place in Huddersfield that serves coffee, but it's probably the place that I've enjoyed going to the most in HUddersfield for coffee.Like everywhere there's the occasional blip - e.g. a cappiccino that's too weak or lukewarm, but on the whole the coffees consistently good. The Americano, which is the easiest to get right (other than espresso) is consistently good enough to drink black with no sugar (a rare occurence here in the uk), and, unlike Costa and Nero, does not expose a frequent over-extraction of the espressos used to make it. The Coopers coffee seems consistently strong enough without this.I would reserve 5 stars for a place that uses genuinely freshly roasted coffee, but as these are almost non-existent in this country, most places could never have 5 stars from me - however, due to the nice interior and friendly prompt service, four stars in the next best thing I can give. This is, though, purely on the coffee (it is a coffee shop after all), rather than the food as well - given that I've never had any - but what I can say is that what I've seen other people eat looks very nice (salads, soups paninis etc.).I can recommend this place a lot, but please don't follow my advice and go - it will make the place more crowded and spoil the peacefulness of my morning coffee!

This is a lovely cafe - a great choice of coffee, good food, plenty of newspapers to read and very friendly staff. There's a small public car park across the main road and also parking in the side street

This place occupies what I think used to be the Marsh House pub (near the post office) and the contrast couldn't be sharper. It's now a friendly, unpretentiously stylish, cafe that does just the best coffee. There's the usual range of coffees, and everything I've tried - from espressos to capucinnos - has been great. Intense, flavoursome, authentic taste unsurpassed anywhere in Yorkshire for me. Prices very reasonable too. And the option of a pretty genuine mint tea a nice twist. There's a range of food on the side. Nice ice cream in a range of flavours, paninis, sandwiches (both around £3.50-£4.00) soups and cakes. I like the fact that they they asked how much chilli I'd like in my Mexican chicken paninin and upped up the schoville count accordingly.Been in with our kids a few times and really relaxed and family friendly. It's not a massive place, not at all up itself, just elegantly simple in a brown furnishings and cieling fan kind of way. But if you're around or passing through Marsh and like your coffee, well worth giving it a spin.Think they have a facebook page - Facebook.com/marshmallow.huddersfield for more info, including occassional evening events.

Always a pleasure visiting here. Great range of soups and reasonably priced coffee £2 or pot of tea £1.60 (Dec '18). The staff are friendly and there's a outdoor seating area which in summer is a real sun trap.

Great selection of craft beers, always changing. Highly recommend 'Neck oil' when it's on. Loads of choice for non beer drinkers too. Not tried the food since it's changed, menu looks good though. Really friendly and helpful staff.

What a lovely place. Very welcoming. The food was amazing. Would highly recommend you try this place. The roast of the day was really good. The 1, 2 or 3 course lunch menu is really good value. With the generous portions we only managed a main course.
