Espresso Corner in Kirklees

So every time I come to espresso corner it's honestly the best coffee you can get anywhere, the lady behind is always so friendly it makes it such a lovely experience

Great corner to sit and observe people ..;) Cappuccino was great and a smile..makes my day. Kind person serving me also looked up places nearby to do photocopying. Lots of seating area.

Coffee was very nice. However, staff were not welcoming and seemed to be annoyed I came in with a pushchair.

The staff were constantly swearing at customers, I had the ploughperson's lunch and it was awful. I also saw a mouse running across behind the counter whilst I was ordering my food.

Doing a solo cycling trip from Themchester to Themsfield, and dropped in for a sandwich. They only had a table for 2 (but as I am a they/them ) it was perfect for one! Opted for the Reuben, the emthemtal cheese was divine , I would have liked some Hellthems mayo, or Colpersons mustard, but sadly not to be.

The ploughpersons sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was incredible, would absolutely recommend

I'm a frequent customer of espresso corner as it's a lovely little spot with a great atmosphere, lovely, friendly, happy staff who clearly enjoy what they do, delicious coffee and food and clean space. The menu is diverse, well thought out and carefully executed. Everyone is welcome - the vibe is inclusive and not at all judgemental.

This is a great spot for a quiet coffee in the morning, with it being being nice and small it’s very chilled out. The person who served me was so lovely - I was feeling really chatty and they totally went with it while I was waiting for my coffee which was lovely. They have the best decaf in town, which I appreciate in the afternoon, and their regular coffee is also great, robust and tasty with great balance. I think they even roast it themselves? Honestly, they really know what they’re doing here, and everyone’s so friendly. It’s my regular coffee spot!

Honestly a gem of a little cafe! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the cafe genuinely feels like a little safe haven in the town centre. The food is super tasty and the variety that is there for vegans, veggie and all is absolutely fantastic. This cafe goes above and beyond.

Fantastic, after being so highly recommended online I had to give this place a try… MAN was it worth it! (Correction, *person, sorry) If you don’t mind your espresso being gender fluid, then your tolerance will be rewarded in the form of an exceptional coffee - and if you can stomach the idea of food that doesn’t identify as human, then you’re sure to love Espresso Corner. TRIGGER WARNING! They also have a controversial drink on their menu, something called a “Flat White” & “Long Black” I was obviously deeply concerned about the colonial undertones of such names, and had to consult my trusty copy of “Piers Morgan’s Get mad; Go Viral”, but after raising this with the staff, they did a great job of reassuring me that not only will they will happily serve these drinks to all nationalities, but there was no need to call the national newspapers after all… phew! All in all, this is probably the best coffee in Huddersfield centre - and hopefully the hype will translate into positivity for the baristas, roasters and owners who work incredibly hard to keep the quality at such a high standard. The only criticism I have, is they should stop letting customers bring in their own food; I don’t want gammon on the next table over whilst I’m trying to enjoy my coffee.

Such a shame from local independent cafe, a real disappointment. Needs to rethink its menu and staff attitude. From what I understand it's really going downhill

One of my favourite coffee spots in Huddersfield for a solo date, very much so a hidden gem! Really friendly staff, fresh food, cute little latte art, love going in Summertime also, seperate produce from bakery things to coffee makers to buy. Highly recommend : )

I’ve frequently been to espresso corner and each of my visits has been; welcoming, warm, safe and enjoyable. The staff are 10/10 and always up for a chat, it’s extremely chilled and calm, perfect for doing work etc, I’d like to highlight yet again how amazing staff are. They are so accommodating and helpful and they’re always super kind. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Espresso corner has always proved its experience and coffee expertise every time I have gone in The baristas are friendly, confident, and genuine good eggs. The cakes are not to be missed, and a trip here brightens up any morning, lunchtime or afternoon 10/10, will visit again

The tiniest cup of coffee I have ever purchased. Tasted fine but extremely poor value for 3 sips.

Lovely little place with tables and counter seats by the window. Coffee was delicious with non-dairy milks available. Had the charcuterie board between me and 1 other person and it was the perfect lunch! Super tasty and great service.

Good coffee and friendly staff, but the service was slow, food was disappointing and for what we got it was extremely overpriced....£17 for 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches I could have made at home.

Superb little corner cafe in EVERY respect. They have delightful little tasty cakes and a plethora of drinks for sale (plus hot food). Prices are more than fair - in fact I would say below the usual expensive prices other cafe's charge. The added bonus is the male staff members who work there are pure eye-candy. The main staff member is a young male with short hair and a spiky fringe. He is gorgeous. And his assistants are smiley and lovely to talk to. I will continue spending here for a long while yet and I only PRAY it remains open considering most cafe's in Huddersfield close down.

Came in and had beans on toast and a Chutney Toastie - which were both great. I also had a coffee with was strong and really hit the spot on a rainy day. Liked the vibe and enjoyed the overall experience. Spoke with the person behind the counter about reviewing the cafe and the photo's I'd taken and overall left with a positive impression. A week later called and spoke with an owner or manager who outright gave me grief for reviewing on a new platform without their permission. Real bummer as besides the communication it really was a 5-star experience...it was just the call a week later that left me rattled :-/

Generally a busy place, small and cosy and very clean. Not the cheapest but excellent coffee and cake, with a brilliant vegetarian friendly meal board. Brilliant position for people watching, great for small groups or solo.

Very very disappointed after visiting The Espresso Corner in Huddersfield town centre. My latte was cold and undrinkabke by the time it got to me. It took 10-15 for a coffee and there were only around 3 people in the cafe other than myself. Staff were rather ignorant and the whole vibe of the coffee shop was cold and unfriendly. I left and got a much nicer warm coffee from a Cafe Nero 2 mins away. Always willing to support smaller businesses dispite the higher prices but this place was a joke. Plus my sandwich was basically just a huge, dry wedge of stale bread. horrific.

Excellent coffee and food. The vegan cakes are amazing. Favourite sandwich is beef, onion chutney and cheddar, also the bacon sandwich. James, Jackie, Millie and tadas are friendly and helpful. Dark woods Coffee beans to takeaway, common grounds is excellent.
