Fantastic independent café with relaxing atmosphere, welcoming decor, comfy seating, super clean and tidy, friendly helpful staff serving absolutely delicious homemade food and drinks, with plenty of veggie and vegan options - and the best skin-on fries. Can't wait to be back to try the veggie breakfast! Highly recommended.

Unpretentious, down to earth and most importantly really fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Staff go out of their way to help you and make sure you have everything you need. The veggie breakfast was very tasty with many different flavours that hit the palate. Thoroughly recommend A***

Came in as a group of 7 for lunch. The dining area was full (which is always a good sign) and service was fantastic, getting food and drinks out in good time. The menu is extensive and includes many veggie/vegan options which is great to see. Everything was tasty, chips were fantastic. I got a vanilla latte and it was the best I've ever had 😁 Would definitely go back!

I'm fairly new to being dairy free due to my child's allergies and haven't found it easy to find good vegan food. The food at Katie's homemade kitchen was amazing! I had a vegan omelette sandwich which was very good and a very generous portion, and the person I was with had a meaty meal which she also rated very highly. Difficult to find a place that does both well. There were toys/puzzles for my 2 year old to play with at the table whilst she waited for food, and Katie and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be visiting again!

Amazing menu, something for everyone. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, plus meat dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff. My salad was amazing with a wonderful variety of fresh food and my husband loved his vegan sandwich and skin on fries. I would highly recommend. Also in a beautiful village.

This was our 2nd visit to Katie’s, as a couple of (relapsed) moon-rakers (from Slawit) residing on the opposite side of town near Castle Hill, we several cookoo’s as distant (long lost) relations! My wife and l like to eat out often, so when we visited Marsden and decided that only Katie’s eatery would do again, as we enjoyed our 1st visit there. We were pleased that it was very quiet when we entered and we were seated near the ‘canal’ picture window. Then suddenly the tables all filled up…. Our order went through fairly quickly, we both ordered a basic sandwich, egg mayo, and tuna mayo, both came with a ‘dressed’ side salad, all accompanied with tea for 2. We both had 1/2 of each sandwich. The food, although basic and simple, was delicious. Bread lovely and soft (freshly baked?) and the fillings very tasty. The tea was delicious Yorkshire decaf! Mmmmm. The staff were all friendly and only too happy to help. Big thanks from K&P. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The worst coffee I’ve ever tasted. Staff didn’t know what a flat white was, I was brought a milky coffee in a large cup and had to bring it back up to the counter where another member of staff remade it. Second time around it resembled a flat white however the taste was awful. My partner had ordered a hazelnut cappuccino and it was full of syrup…no coffee taste although probably a god send considering the taste of my coffee. Staff did not ask if everything was ok when we went up to pay. Won’t be back.

Lovely family orientated venue. We opted for the home made Beef Sunday Lunch. It was delicious. Reasonably priced and very tasty. Staff were helpful and the plane had a relaxed family atmosphere. Will be back to try their breakfasts, which looked amazing.

Absolutely fab little place in Marsden, catering to pretty much any dietary requirement you can imagine with culinary finesse. The menu is extensive and all food delicious. I particularly recommend the mushroom shawarma. Bonus points for the many in-cafe dogs available for petting.

Great hidden gem in Marsden. Well worth the visit. Polite, chatty, and extremely friendly, accomadating staff. We asked for their recommendation. Which was off the specials board. It was the chicken sop sandwich with fresh chunky chips. Mouthwatering was an understatement. An excellent choice by far. Thank you for your amazing hospitality. A wonderful host in Katie. Enjoyed every minute in her cosy, eclectic cafe listening to live music on Sunday evening of the Jazz festival. Katie and her attentive team will get our appreciative support anytime we are back in Marsden.

I come here from time to time for a lovely breakfast, their large breakfasts are very large and if you can eat it get your drinks for free but trust me they are huge, they do vegan, vegie and meaty so when passing through have a pew and say hi

Lovely stop after a hike in Marsden. Menu is incredible! Very spoilt for choice, went for the vege breakfast which was sensational! Very dog friendly also. Will definitely be returning!

We were recommended by two people to have Katie do the outside catering at our anniversary party. They were right, she was very good and professional. We were particularly impressed. The food was delivered on time to a very high standard and the guests were delighted with it. She did separate dishes for the children and those on special diets. We would definitely use her again.

Me and my partner visited earlier today as we had heard great reviews about it and wanted to see for ourselves. We walked in and were met with lovely staff and immediately sat at our table. We were given menus but had about a 15 minute wait before orders were taken, however not many people were in at this point and if they were, had already ordered. We placed our order and waited another 30 minutes for our food, we knew that would be an estimated time as we read online that it was all homemade. When my partners food came there was a huge hair that was very clearly in the egg, almost as if it was cooked within it. I received my food and it was incredibly greasy where I thought it would be fresh salad. No one performed a check back whilst we were here to check on our food, thus my partner didn’t want to make a scene. I don’t think we shall be returning in a hurry, really let down as we heard wonderful things and were really excited to come.

Decided to stop off here for lunch. Not many in the cafe and plenty of space to sit. Great that they allow dogs. Ordered two basic sandwiches. However we had to wait ages for them to arrive. Had to ask twice re how long they would be as we were starving and getting bored. When they finally came, no apologies about the wait. Staff were okish but nothing to rave about. The sandwiches were really lovely but why it took them that long to make them I’m not sure especially as the cafe was really quiet. They did look very busy with take out food so perhaps the cafe customers get a bit neglected. Not sure. Toilet needed a good clean too. Again something which the staff failed to notice. Shame really as the food was really good.

We absolutely love eating here. The food has always been delicious from the sandwiches to the cakes. Excellent amount of food for the price too. My only complaint is that the servers can be slow to get your order and drinks but I understand the challenges. Certainly won't stop me from returning!

The staff are all lovely and will always do their absolute best for customers, naturally this can be more challenging for them during busier times, but even then they will do everything they can to help. There is an amazing selection of food (for meat eaters and veggie/vegans alike) and just when I think I've tried everything on their menu, they update it and new goodies are available! They're also fantastic at adjusting for dietary requirements and will happily tweak the menu however they can, they've never made me like an inconvenience for asking either. As a gluten free vegan it's one of a very limited number of places I can actually eat and it's wonderful to have so much to choice for a change! The atmosphere is also brilliant, during quieter periods it's nice and relaxing, and in busier periods it has a nice buzz to it. I often go by myself to study or read a book and I regularly take family and friends along too. Every single person I have taken has raved about the food and service afterwards and I personally have never had anything that I didn't enjoy. I have no doubt that I will be a regular for years to come, I'm sure my friends and family will be too!

Visited for the first time for Sunday lunch. Had a wonderful nut roast with a variety of fresh vegetables, followed by a cherry and almond scone. They have a varied menu which includes vegan/vegetarian or meat options for most items. Loved it so much I went back the next day and had a super tasty vegan cottage pie! Highly recommended!

The food was excellent, they do meals for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Good sized plate at a good price. Tea came in a big pot and was sufficient for at least 3 cups each. Would I go back, yes.

Never visited before went in on cuckoo festival day. Got in around 11.45, about 10 minutes later it was heaving, couldn't believe how many vegan options they had and the plate portion was very generous, staff were very polite and helpful

Such friendly staff and great vegan food choices! The breakfast was just what I needed! Homemade brown sauce and hash browns, and the toast and the mushrooms and the beans... Everything was delicious! A week later my order of Vegan Deluxe Hot Chocolate was offered to me again without the slightest hesitation and with a big knowing smile! Great service, great food!

If you want a really nice healthy fresh vegan or vegetarian meal. Katie's Homemade Kitchen is the place for you. Very open and quite large for a place so cosy.

Amazing little cafe that does the best and most eclectic all day breakfast/fry up I have ever had. I had the vegetarian option which had hummus, egg, fried veg, sriracha beans, blue cheese, beetroot croquettes - which all sounds odd but really worked - amazing and very filling. Hubby had the bean cottage pie - also extremely tasty and they also sell beer!!! Very reasonable at about £10:00 per head. Will definitely come again.

I really wanted to leave a review for the sheer comedy value of my visit to Katie’s Homemade kitchen. After completing a long walk I went in with friends for a well earned sandwich. Lovely young lady serving It took longer than expected for two sandwiches, and when they arrived we’d forgotten to ask for sauce. Mine with brown and my friend asking for red. They took the sandwiches away for what took longer than expected. Hunger was kicking in now so after receiving the sandwiches we headed out To my amazement the wrong sauce had been put on the sandwiches, my friend had brown and I had ….. pasta sauce??! !! It has got to a point where I had waited long enough so just needed to eat so ate my bacon, sausage and pasta sauce sandwich

We have lived in Marsden ever since Katie's Kitchen opened but have never been in. Had friends staying over so went for breakfast. We all absolutely loved it. Staff and service excellent. Food delicious. One of our group was gluten intolerant and the selection she could choose from was brilliant. Portion sizes are huge. We didn't book but there were a few tables reserved so might be worth booking so as not to be disappointed. Couldn't fault it we will be back.

Had a late breakfast here whilst staying in Marsden. Wide variety of choices, especially if you’re vegan / veggie. We’re carnivores, but equally plenty of choice. Generous portions of food, which were lovely. Cafe was full even at this time of year, so you might want to try and book in peak seasons.

This is the best place to eat for any combination of diets. Extensive menu, good home-made food and plenty of it. Good job we don't live closer or we would be in there every day! All excellent value too.

It’s a village cafe so the dining experience is rustic & informal. However, the food, drink & service is brilliant. A diverse, locally sourced menu, that caters for all dietary needs. All of the furniture & crockery is up-cycled. Personally I choose a vegan diet & the selection is vast & absolutely delicious.

Cups had lots of cracks in them. Dirty spoon- badly stained. Egg deposits on forks. Chef seen out of kitchen area with dirty tea towel over shoulder. Staff seen handling a dog and not washing hands afterwards. Tables not clean. Floor sticky. Lacking ventilation.

I had a vegan breakfast to take out and all I can say is wooow wooow wooow each and every time. Every single element of the breakfast tastes beautiful, the flavours are fab and everything is unique and uniquely flavoured! The portion size is great and the service is just as amazing as the food!!!

I ordered Sunday veggie roast dinner. Came out cold, sent it back, I managed to eat a third before giving up. Everything on the plate looked and tasted like it had been warmed up more than once,roast potatoeswere particularly bad, Poor quality food , tasteless , very disappointing ,won't be returning. Freshly cooked for it was not.

Love the veggie breakfast here. I ordered small one as thats enough for me and a tea. Unfortunately the tea came in a cup with tea bag in it. If they put it in a pot it much better and nicer.. i hope they can consider that for the future

Hmmmm..... food outstanding, 5 stars for food. Service 3.5 ish. Small place. Brilliant menu, loads for vegetarians and vegans, spoilt for choice really. Has some outdoor seating on the pavement. I was served by a young blonde lass, an unsmiling lass, not friendly or welcoming, more like a robot or someone on autopilot who didn't show much care, interest or initiative. I asked for a table for one. My first time here, so I was unaware of what their system might be. Didn't look like table service, as after some time of no one coming to take my order, and with this lass stood behind the counter, staring out the window, supping on a drink, I went to the counter to order in the end. Their hot chocolate actually comes with vegetarian friendly marshmallows, rare as hen's teeth to find them. No yukky boiled cow hoof gelatine in them! Ordered hot choc, a thirst quenching Fentimans ginger beer. Asked for the vegetable soup as my starter, and then followed by a mushroom, tomato and spinach chickpea omelette. The hot chocolate took a while and it wasn't very busy. It was lovely though, very good hot chocolate. The food took a little while and unfortunately for some unfathomable reason, two staff brought out my hot starter and hot main together....?! When I queried why had they brought both courses out simultaneously, the answer was, oh, you want them separately? Errr, yeah, cos otherwise whichever one I eat first, tother will go cold. I mean it's not exactly rocket science, eh? A bit of common sense would have gone a long way. It was obvious, as stated at the start, there was only me dining, hence asking for a "table for one". So, the next thing was my soup starter was about to get carted back to the kitchen, errr, hello?! Back to front or what? I know it would be easier to reheat soup, rather than the omelette, but that isn't the point. Soup comes first. Have to say, the soup was delicious and perfect, a very good soup. Boiling hot, like the weather, so took a while to devour. Omelette eventually came back out and rahhh, lil miss finally seemed to have found a smile from some dark drawer recess somewhere. Maybe she was new. Maybe she was shy. But she needs a bit more customer awareness and a bit of sense. An older lady (the one who had tried to carry my soup back away) did come over and ask if soup was OK. It was more than OK. I wouldn't write the place off because of one staff member, because both the menu choice/range and the food were great. Interesting, unusual wall art in the loo, a mural that looks inspired by the trees in a Dr Seuss book, liked it, it's quirky. Do go and try their food, it's great and it's a nice little café.

Looked very nice but times are wrong on Google. Says confirmed with phone call 5 weeks ago, says open until 4pm Monday, closes at 2pm in reality . Refused to serve food at 1.45pm. You'd think they'd be greatful for custom after being closed for so long.

An enormous cooked breakfast and mahoosive breakfast buttie. The staff were very welcoming and allowed us to sit anywhere, which with a dog was appreciated. The food was great quality and still had a home made feel to it. Would def recommend this cafe.

The New Marsedner sandwich was delicious. Quirky little place. Not impressed with much else, sorry. We ordered coffees and they didn't arrive until after our meals had been served, the young man serving our coffees must have been new as he looked a little lost and mumbled as he got to our table. I don't mind if he is new, but if not maybe a little more training would help. Another member of our party found a hair in his food and the table felt a bit tacky. The young lady serving was lovely and very friendly.

arrived 2:15pm after hiking at Marsden moor and west nab. the staff were friendly. it has free wifi. the only disable toilet was clean. the large part of menu consist of vegetarian dishes. we ordered meaty big breakfast and big vegetarian breakfast. the vegetarian breakfasts were tasty. they were values for money especially tea for three.
