Chicken shawarma Flatbread is amazing. Cafe does great food and the coffee shop down the road does great drinks.

Called for a light snack as we'd had a big breakfast in the hotel. Asked the two young ladies if the scones were fresh that day, we were assured they were - scone lovers can tell! Guess what? They weren't! Had they been, our rating would have been higher as the little cafe is in a lovely location on the outskirts of town with sheltered outdoor seating. A bit different from when it was a second hand shop!

We came for brunch but they no longer offer this kind of food like they did when located up the road. Its mainly coffee, pastries, cakes or toast. We wanted food for brunch so we left.

Love the coffee and the cups. It was my new go to coffee place. Scones looked lovely but were dry crumbly and stale. Freshly baked ones were on a tray at the back of the counter but they wouldn't serve me one of those until the 'old' ones had gone. Such a shame.

Wanted to go for coffee with family we ended up coming to bexs coffee shop we wasn't disappointed. We was welcomed staff was polite and the atmosphere is brilliant

Was here on Sunday with my husband & 2 kids. The food was delicious with great portion sizes. Especially the Vegan breakfast which I had. The service we received was excellant. We were welcomed immediately & were checked on appropriately. We felt looked after but not rushed. When my son started with a cough, they noticed & so we were offered a warm honey water(free of charge) to help ease his throat. All the staff made an effort to smile us all at various times & it was such a lovely experience for us all. We bought some freshly roasted coffee which tastes just as good at home as it did in the shop. Thank you everyone xx

Had the breakfast... poor quality cheap sausage and very greasy. Think they are more about coffee and it was a good coffee.

Best little cafe I've found in Huddersfield! The coffee is amazing, the staff are lovely and there's a terrific atmosphere. I loved it so much I even bought a huge mug as a souvenir 🥰 (I pretty much had to, love the cafes name!)

Brilliant, friendly and very welcoming cafe / restaurant. The staff are amazing. The food is well presented and tastes to die for. A recent review stated that the staff were very rude and unwelcoming.this couldn’t be further from the truth. My wife and I were in at the same time as that person, the restaurant was very busy and the staff were under real pressure, however they were still very friendly and welcoming to ALL their customers. A real credit to the owners.

I've been coming here over a month, got on well with staff, and left a glowing review previously. Today was Bank Holiday Monday, not really much busier than normal, but attitude was different. I ordered poached eggs on toast, normally excellent. They were like hard boiled eggs. Utterly awful. I tried to get attention of staff. Everyone said too busy. Then sent owners husband, who is not a people person. He was no use. I gave them every chance to fix, and they didn't, and left me no choice. Sorry Bex.

I can’t comment on the coffee because we didn’t stop in. We went to the new Bex’s coffee rather than the original cafe excited to try somewhere new, but were put off when the guy serving was really rude the a customer in front of us just for asking basic questions. There were no labels, allergens or prices on the cakes and when he asked prices, what one was and if there was a menu he got a really frosty reply. Theyre also not taking card, which is fine, but there should be signage before you go in. They were asking for bank transfer or cash, which again, fine, but most people need a card reader to do bank transfers and I don’t really carry one about. We didn’t have any cash on us, and again as the guy in front of us got a really curt response when asking if he could pay by card so we decide to skip it, wander to town and go to arcade. I’ll definitely be trying it again and taking cash with me, I love that the beans are roasted on site and the new space looks really lovely. But there really should be cake prices, labels and allergens. He said it’s because they’re baked new every day, which is fab, but it’s not hard to write this out quickly or have chalk boards. I know working in customer service can be knackering, so I may just have been in on an off day. Will definitely amend if it’s a more positive experience next time.

Would help if they took card- everytime I go they seem to want cash. 😕 It's not cheap so card options should be there.

Had coffee and breakfast there a couple of times, very friendly, welcoming place frequented by mainly locals. Nice coffee. I like that you can order a small cooked breakfast, perfect for me.

I went in here, for the first time. Lovely people, especially Bex, herself. 10/10. I had poached eggs on toast. Simple, but could easily be done wrong. It was PERFICK. Poached eggs oozed yolk. Mmmm.

Extremely friendly staff, amazing food and drinks. Definitely recommend both for breakfast and drinks. I believe they serve the best English breakfast you can get so definitely give it a go and everyone I know who drinks coffee tells me that they have one of the best.

Nice homely atmosphere, good food,good service,lots of cakes and buns on offer all home made. Nice pot of tea made fresh with loose tea.nice breakfast, usual suspects like sausages, bacon, and so on,sausages tasted a little cheap but ok.

What a lovely little café. The coffee is the best I’ve tasted, It is roasted on site & a variety of coffee beans are available to buy, therefore I went home with two bags so I can enjoy the coffee again at home. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just right. I will definitely return again very soon. Thank you to all the lovely, friendly staff. This is a family run Coffee bar and they are very passionate, which comes across to their customers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Went here for a coffee and a meeting with a colleague. Really nice flat white, can't really comment on the food as didn't have anything but what I seen coming out to others looked really nice. Maybe next time I'll try some.

Initially went for a coffee and noticed they do brekky until 2pm so stayed for breakfast. Very welcoming, we had our baby with us and they sorted a high chair and better seating for that. Ordered coffee and food, excellent service all round and good value for the price...only down side we couldn't pay by card!! 😳

Nice cafe well decorated and clean - My full English was lovely - quality tasty food with nice presentation, one friend had the soup & toastie with hot drink deal and it looked amazing great value for money staff were welcoming. Other friend had the chicken flatbread which looked great. Can pay cash or bank transfer no card payments tho

If you have taken the decision not take cards, maybe a sign? Or perhaps mention it, rather than acting insulted that someone wants to pay that way. Again perhaps mention that you can't do breakfasts because short staffed rather than acting annoyed someone has asked when you have a sign up advertising them outside (don't put the sign out?). No toilet roll in toilet.

Lovely little coffee and eating place. They roast their own coffee beans, which you can buy to take home. Coffee and food was delicious. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Obviously passionate about all the different sources and tastes of the beans too. Will definitely go back. BTW its cash only

A cute lil cafe just outside Huddersfield. Unfortunately, at the time of this review, they don't yet take card payments, so its a cash only cafe. It's a little inconvenient if you don't happen to carry cash at the time. Fortunately, a cash machine is nearby. Cappuccinos are good!

They don’t take card. It’s cash or bank transfer only. There is no internet signal there so you have to use their Wi-Fi which actually doesn’t work!! Its 2023 I just want to enjoy a brew without this kind of hassle. Won’t return.

Breakfast was perfect! And the coffee too!

Cheap grotesque brown sauce served in HP bottles! Scam. The sausages were cheap and didn't fill the bread cake- quarter of the sandwich just bread and margarine. Nasty tasting coffee. Will certainly not return. Despite this, staff were friendly.

Got a small Breakfast which was a good portion size and very good value. The coffee was lovely too. Just note that it was cash or bank transfer only.

Went for breakfast, nice little cafe, staff very friendly, coffee was really good, the only let down was the breakfast was swimming in oil and the sausage was really cheap and either deep fried or microwaved, they had a lovely selection of cakes and pastries, wish I had sampled some, would definitely go back but not for the breakfast.

Have lived near Bexs since 2018 and have never had a bad experience here. The coffee is great, breakfasts are spot on, and the cake is invariably delicious and served in huge portions!

Absolutely love going to Bex’s Cafè. Fantastic coffee and homemade cakes, the staff make Bex’s Cafè a pleasure to visit. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Love going there!

Amazing little jewel . Rather unexpected from the way it looks outside but it was a perfect little cafe inside . Staff were amazing food was out of this world . I cant praise this place enuf . I will definitely be going again .

100% the best hot drinks in Huddersfield/Halifax. Very polite and helpful staff, who are always willing to go the extra mile. I can not recommend Bex cafe enough.

Coffee with oat milk didn't mix. The coffee was separate from the milk. Returned and received money back. Customer service was bad. Got dirty looks from the server and the waitress had bad manners. First and last time.

A group of 6 went for the first time today we were seated upstairs. We ordered vegetarian breakfast..I didn't want tomotoes or mushroom so was subsisted for an extra halloumi slice. Veg sausages were amazing! We all Enjoyed the food it was hot and delicious... only slight nighle would be 1 egg isn't enough definitely need 2! Also don't margarine the toast...butter please! Oat latte was delicious...the coffee definitely has flavour. We would definitely return..CASH ONLY or Bank transfer accepted!

What a fab cafe, go with cash, no card facility. Ordered a small breakfast was delicious. Thick cut proper bacon, eggs looked like free range came with brown toast, beans and 2 sausage. Yummy. Will be back.

Only been in a couple of times..but this will now be my go to place when I go to the launderette. Lovely place lovley staff and food..and lemon and ginger tea..

First visit and the greetings by staff was very positive. Lots of lovely coffees but I had a red berries tea. Delicious. Upstairs loo was very clean. I’ll be back.

Just visited for the first time with my husband this morning for a full English. The service was very good and they were all so friendly. Had to sit upstairs as it was so busy so it was a little chilly but they’d done all they can by putting portable radiators up there so can’t fault them for that and It wouldn’t put me off coming back. Probably the best coffee I’ve ever had.

We love Bex's, a really lovely warm atmosphere with great characters, thanks for your excellent coffee Reginald, the superb breakfasts Bex and Heather, the great service from everyone. Have a wonderful Christmas love from Steve and Dawn.

Very friendly staff. As you would expect from somewhere that roast their own beans the coffee is excellent. The vegie breakfast was wonderful, they have a great cake selection of which the apple and cinnamon tasted of autumn. The staff are good with children and made my 3 year old daughter very welcome.

Food was good. Information is wrong on the Facebook website. Cards not accepted. The knife was greased and had finger prints on it. Next time I will try a different cafe...

Very very disappointed, overpriced average food purchased from Aldi down the road and they have the nerve to charge Costa prices!! Cakes are NOT home made but in a factory, very dishonest! We are in a recession, yet these lot are ripping off working class folk. I wish I had taken pictures of what I witnessed! Use tinned tomatoes which they microwave in front of your eyes, to make matters worse they refuse to take card payments, be warned. I had to rush to the cash machine to pay for my dinner, no better than average and cost £20 for 2 ppl!!! Highly disappointed as I like supporting local businesses. Would I come again, certainly not.

Great place and great people, breakfast was wonderful, they have a great selection of cakes as well, coffee was a little mild, so for me it isn't the best as I prefer bolder flavors. All in all a wonderful place and would recommend.

Lovely bacon and sausage sandwich. My Americano was large, but it was weak and tasteless....I left most of it. All around the cafe is coffee grinding machines and sacks of coffee beans. So I thought the coffee would be top notch......I was very disappointed. To sum up.....Good food, poor coffee.
