I go to see my mum once a week and take her out for lunch. We always tend go to the Tea Rooms because we know we like it there. The Cafe has warm and welcoming atmospher. We are always greeted with a cheery smile, and conversation as we take our seats. The menu is extensive, but Mum and I generally have the same thing to eat every time we go, because we enjoy what we have. Our choice of drinks may vary from time to time. The food is always well presented and tasty. The Service is excellent not only because of the welcoming you receive, but because of the fact that the gentleman who generally serves us, always remembers Mum's mayonnaise. Will open the fiddly sachet, as mum finds this difficult, he will then ask mum (even though he already knows the answer), where abouts on her meal would she like the mayonnaise. To some people this may seem trivial. Whereas for me and I'm sure there will be others too. It's the littlest of things that give a personalised touch and to see that makes a huge difference. And I don't think for one second that this only applies to my mum. To remember the likes and dislikes, who's doing what, why and when, and did you have a good holiday and so on and so forth of so many people is absolutely amazing, considering the vast amount of people that cross over the threshold. Yes, there will be the regular customers and those who are just passing through. But, I would just like to point out that until 3 weeks ago, early August, due to circumstances beyond my control, I had not been able to get to see my mum and to take her out, since before Christmas. So I had not rung the Cafe in all that time to book a table. But on the day I did ring to book a table for2, I am pretty sure the gentleman remembered who I was? And when mum and I arrived, been made to feel welcome, were seated and had ordered the usual. It was as if I'd not missed a single week. I had forgotten all about about the mayonnaise for Mum's meal, just as well someone else remembered wasn't it. A massive Thank you all at The Denby Dale Tea Rooms .

Came in the tea rooms for lunch and ordered food for our small group. The offer was mostly sandwiches, paninis and the like, and a soup of the day. Everything was minimal in size, with pretty much a large teacup of not especially appetising soup. Most striking was the sandwiches. These were really literally supermarket sliced bread sandwiches, and not good sliced bread at that. Cheese was cheap mild cheddar, the "Yorkshire ham" didn't stand out as anything that you wouldn't find in Sainsburys. Salads were a few mouthfuls and the side of crisps with one order was, I would say, about half a small packet of OK crinkle-cut crisps. The prices were mid-range for a cafe, and in that context really, really not good value. The tea room itself is pleasant and the staff friendly and attentive, and it looks a promising prospect, but not recommended if you want to eat and feel like you've got your money's worth. Genuinely, a meal deal from the nearby Co-op would have been better. For what it's worth, I'd encourage the owners to really rethink their food offer. Decent, chunky fresh bread, tasty cheeses and cooked meats, along with much heartier portion sizes would feel like a good offer and bring in diners - they could even charge slightly more if the ingredients and portions were good enough. As it stands, the food felt cheap, but wasn't.

We made a happy return to this wonderful cafe and we weren't disappointed. We only stopped for a snack but were impressed by the quality of the food we received and of the service. We had bacon and egg sandwiches. The bacon was superb - fine quality and good thick rashers. The eggs were perfectly cooked. This was washed down with a lot of Yorkshire tea that really hit the spot. Simple but perfect. Service was efficient and friendly without being overbearing. We will return.

Food was lovely, kitchen clean and service good, but it feels like God's waiting room. I'm in my 50s yet felt out of place as full of pensioners in their 80s. I do get it's an old building and full of character, but it was cold, chairs are old and hard, china cracked, teapot chipped and leaked and with the waitress stood at the till just watching, you didn't feel you could talk. Quaint and clean, but just felt odd.

It has a nice atmosphere for a small village eatery. The food is always to a high standard and drinks are always hot. Have passed this Tea Rooms several times, but not called in until a couple of weeks ago, when I saw people sat outside in the Tea Garden. I parked up right outside the door, and what a treat we had. My wife had a freshly made tuna sandwich with salad and homemade coleslaw, and I had mushooms and brie on toast, both were delightful. We were spoilt for choice with traybakes, but both decided on cake of the day, which was lemmon drizzle, and it was both very tasty and moist. We sat upstairs as we had taken our dog with us, water and dog treats being provided. We both had large flat white coffees, which were honestly the best flat whites I have ever tasted.

I have been going to this café for many years, and I was really disappointed with how the personnel and management handled this situation. My six-year-old nephew who was visiting first time had brought food from an alternative takeaway because he only eats chicken. We had been seated at a table and had ordered our whilst waiting on our order in the cafe we had got the food out to feed my autistic nephew this woman came quite rudely, suddenly and almost yelled at us, telling us that he was not permitted to eat food from other takeaway orders in their café. The woman was then informed that the child has autism, that we and that he typically only eats chicken. Then she turned back and added, "We have halal chicken." We then continued to explain we are aware but he will only eat chicken nuggets and then proceeded to say "Well I can't be going to Nando's and then taking McDonald's with me, can I?" There was a furious altercation, and the owner emerged from behind the counter without asking us if we were okay or if we needed anything. I didn't enquire about the specifics of the case; it was just, "But I can't deal with this," as if it were too much to handle. As an owner, you can't handle a complaint. Even when you are unable to manage your own employees, you still expect customers to visit your establishment. I believe that this was discrimination against children with impairments because some of them are invisible, and I did not anticipate this from the café I used to frequent attend. I would never, ever return to this café because if your employees are going to be impolite and your management is unable to handle it, then what type of management do you have throughout the entire establishment? I believe that their employees need additional training, and perhaps the manager could step up and take care of her own training.
