We stayed here in January after the Inn reopened after New Year. All the staff were really welcoming and helpful. Our room (rm8) was spotless and had fantastic double aspect views and benefited from a separate access doorway with was useful for luggage etc. My only observation was that the next morning, the breakfast seating area near the reception / bar felt cold. Despite this, we would definitely stay again. Great team and lovely venue.

Smart, clean cafe with plent of car parking. We enjoyed the coffee. Jacket potato skins were rather tough and a member of staff could have been more polite when I commented about the cheese. Yes, mozarella is stretchy and fine melted but not when it is served like elastic.

Absolutely fantastic breakfast. Fresh farm reared meats. Homely service and very friendly.

Visited lots over the past 5 years. Definitely gone downhill recently. Food portions were so small today. Dirty looking tea towel bringing main plates out looked like it had not been washed for months. Adult main mash was literally two spoons worth. Chips on some portions really tiny. Fish really small too. Staff seemed pretty disinterested too. Not helped by serving water glasses holding them with fingers inside glass. Really slow too as took 1h for a main course. Not busy in anyway and plenty more options elsewhere. Want to support local but really poor today.

A place that seems a bit out of time and could do with a refresh in decor

The Sunday lunch menu is very limited with a choice of 3 different Sunday roasts, Fish n Chips, and a Veg option. That's it. We were then very disappointed to find out that they had run out of fish n chips. Crazy when the menu is already so limited. We weren't happy when the TV was put on for the football when we were hoping for a cosy family dinner. The final disappointment was that a 10% service charge was automatically added. We removed this and tipped our lovely waitress with cash. So many easy improvements could be made to have a massive improvement if the owners would listen to feedback.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Both my husband and I got food poisoning after both eating a chicken Sunday roast here. I emailed the pub and no response, not even an apology! I question their food safety and hygiene standards and would avoid eating here like the plague!!!

It was a freezing cold day, we had been out walking so I decided to treat my family to lunch. The plates were cold, the mash was cold, the room was too. I spent £74 for a very megre lunch. The waitress piled the plates up right in front of me. Not very professional I am sad to say. Hey ho, never again. Viv.

Limited menu…pie tasted as I if it had been warmed up .. hard crust .. only softened by the amount of gravy on the plate … my fault for . not asking for the gravy to be seperate … sat on a pipped portion of potato and one carrot
