Lovely stop for lunch,friendly staff, good food.

Smart, clean cafe with plent of car parking. We enjoyed the coffee. Jacket potato skins were rather tough and a member of staff could have been more polite when I commented about the cheese. Yes, mozarella is stretchy and fine melted but not when it is served like elastic.

Stopped for dinner and found the pub very welcoming and excepted dogs. There was 4 of us 2 had the sausages and mash which was excellent, 1 person had the gammon and chips and 1 had the homemade steak pie full of lean steak, all the food was excellent and a good portion. Also the prices very good and a good menu choice. Would highly recommend.

If I could rate lower I would.!! We came for some lunch; me, my partner and 2 children (youngest being 18m) my youngest was making a little bit of noise, nothing too loud and the owner comes over and says we are having a lot of complaints, the noise is getting too much and asked us to leave saying customers have come to spend their hard earned cash there. We had also just spent around £45 of our own hard earned cash and was made to feel very unwelcome. The noise from our 1 year old was just a normal amount you would expect from any small child who is not able to speak yet or communicate properly. If children are not welcome I think they need to put a sign on the door rather than make paying customers feel unwelcome, also the owner needs to learn some communication skills. Very disappointed and will direct anyone I know away from this place!!

The warm welcome when we arrived for Sunday lunch was a great portent of things to come at the Timble Inn. A cosy atmosphere, wonderful staff, fabulous menu and the most delicious food made our visit memorable. We were slightly delayed and rang ahead to see if we could alter our booking by 30 minutes which was no problem at all. Requests for things to be added or omitted from a couple of dishes were again, not a problem. The food was delicious: piping hot soup accompanied by warm, homemade bread followed by lamb which was beautifully rare and incredibly flavoursome. The vegetables were numerous and cooked to perfection. All in all a real treat and a rare gem in the culinary landscape which I will be sure to visit again. Thank you to everyone at the Timble Inn.

We called here for breakfast on our way to Harlow Carr Gardens, I had the regular breakfast, and my wife had quiche & beans (odd combination??), they have an excellent menu, something for everyone, & the prices are very reasonable, what we had was very tasty & an ample portion. We shall no doubt go there again when over the way.

Very enjoyable pub, friendly staff and good food, cosy and comfortable, we will be back, can imagine it is even cosier during the winter months!

We called in on the off chance for lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Please give your chef our compliments. Also your waiting staff were very pleasant & made eye contact with smiles. And with this being a dog friendly pub our little fur baby enjoyed her day out to. We will call back again even though we live 45 minutes away, it's worth the journey. Thank you

Limited menu…pie tasted as I if it had been warmed up .. hard crust .. only softened by the amount of gravy on the plate … my fault for . not asking for the gravy to be seperate … sat on a pipped portion of potato and one carrot

Food and service is always incredible. Love coming to the Roebuck when ever we get the opportunity. My only suggestion for improvement would be to swap the burger for a double smash burger with some home made burger sauce. Really think it would be a winner over the current option

What a wonderful day! The guys serving us were friendly, attentive and the food was delicious. They even offered extra items for the table. Was celebrating a birthday and helped with lighting candles, and even gifted a slice of cake too! Would highly recommend!
