First time we've had the pleasure of dining and staying at the Timble Inn. From check in to check out nothing was too much for them. The room was great with a separate sitting room area. The evening meal was first class and definitely worthy of the gold star awards and AA rosettes. We will certainly be going back

Visited for lunch in Early September 2024. Had a table by the window, which provided a comfortable and spacey area to eat. The lady looking after us was very pleasant, the menu provided a good choice and was cooked and served beautifully. Cheese board was very good value with a nice and varied choice of local cheeses. Would recommend.

This is a great dinning pub with outstanding food. We went in the evening having previously been at lunch time, food is evening is even more creative. We ate in the cosy dining room which is great for couples . I had glazed quail breast with a mini bubble and squeak to start and a fabulous duck dish, breast, bok choi and confit duck leg spring role with a tangy/spice sauce. The other half was equally impressed with her choices. Add in friendly informed service and an excellent wine list at sensible prices you have just about perfect night out. We really enjoyed

Lovely atmosphere and superb food created at this delightful Inn just above Fewston & Swinsty so the perfect place to eat after a walk around. We’ve been many times and they are so accommodating, we’ve turned up after a cycling trip or with the family & friends or even solo without a booking and they’ve always made it work and never let us down. A mix of Italian & Yorkshire heritage shines through so you’ll know Arancini will be just as good as a Sunday roast. Quality is always high and always delivered with a smile. Coffee is also dark and strong like a real cup of Italian Robusta served in a square in the sun. It’s not easy running a restaurant in these times and the staff at Timble Inn deserve our full support so don’t hesitate to make a trip up there. You won’t regret it…

First visit to this place further up the valley from home, set in rolling countryside, smartly decorated interior, lovely welcome from the three young ladies, typical Sunday lunch menu , the lamb was of great quality and so tender, light crisp Yorkshire pudding, perfectly cooked vegetables, my starter of smoked pigeon breast and black pudding was served very theatrically under a glass, smoke filled cloche ! Nice bottle of Malbec to accompany everything from the wine list!

We’ve been on many occasions in the past, and we’ve always thoroughly enjoyed our visits. However sadly, after our most recent visit, it’s unlikely that we will be in a rush to return. The food is lovely (other than slightly overcooked salmon), but the staff weren’t particularly professional. There were cleaning staff coming and going through the restaurant, right next to where people were eating, whilst other staff were stood around chatting (when there were plates to clear/orders to take). It was a bit disappointing unfortunately.

Tip top. Last minute change of circumstances left us scrambling to find some where in the Dales for a bank holiday one night getaway. We’d never even heard of Timble. Oh but what a beautiful village. Simply stunning Our room was small but cosy and characterful with a great bathroom. But the food was the main attraction and it didn’t let us down. There’s on,y a few covers but it didn’t feel cramped. Staff were lovely. The menu was upper end of pricey but not silly money There’s plenty of veggie options and a full separate vegan menu. Wine list was brilliant even having a ice wine for puds. I loved my goats cheese bavarois with summer veg, Jamie’s pigeon went down well with a yummy parsnip purée although the only let down of the whole meal was the pommel Anna which were just on the hard side. Main of gnocchi was lush and he loved the lamb three way. Great cheese board and I had a rhubarb dish that was epic. Breakfasts were brilliant. Generous portions. Great veggie sausage. Plenty of options. Just really well done. Great place for a overnight indulgence in spectacular setting

The starters were lovely, the mains good, the puddings however were a let down too much "goo" on the sticky toffee pudding, actually made it that I could not eat it all. The service was good, however the young waitresses need to learn to "talk" to the older guests, they are good in asking "parrot fashion" if all was ok. But seem to lack that little extra - ie. The lady brought my Scallops and said "i've got the Scallops" - i replied that one could get cream for that ...............and dur..................not a scoobie!

We were a family of four, 2 adults, 2 children, 10 and 7. The atmosphere wasn't great because it was fairly quiet (though we were late arriving for our booking at nearly 2pm on a Saturday). We were put on a table in a room to the side next to an elderly couple. The room maybe had space for 20 covers or so and there was no background noise or music. It was slow getting orders placed. There were pods on the tables to summon the staff and it felt like they waited for thosenbefore attending, rather than keeping a watching brief. The kids and my wife enjoyed their food. My starter was smoked pigs cheeks which were very tender, but the sauce was dull and the smoky flavour too subtle. My main was a lamb rump dish. The lamb was dry and overcooked with scorched cauliflower and chickpeas. These left an unpleasant, gritty residue that left you waiting for horrible, unexpected crunches on your teeth. The kids' dessert was poor value. It was £6.50 for a single scoop of ice cream on a crumb and, curiously, my daughter's dessert was sticky toffee pudding, which was a big portion of pudding and the same sized portion of ice cream, for the same £6.50. A glass of sauvignon was around £11. Overall not terrible but struggling to justify £125 for a lunch for two adults and two kids.

Booked in advance for an 80th birthday meal for my mum, really looking forward to it. Mum has a severe allergy and all communication prior was excellent, she had to pre order (not an issue) to ensure allergy was catered for. Contacted a couple of days prior and was told kitchen and front of house knew and was no issue. However, on arriving when I mentioned this the front of house staff knew nothing about it but had to go and find out. Service was fine but simply fine and food okay, however for the price it should be a lot better and it is not worth the drive out as there are places far superior in harrogate and surrounding villages. Not a great environment, none of us were impressed , ages ranging from mid 20’s to 80 and would not recommend or go back. I feel that i5 was booked for a special birthday and they were aware and yet not even a happy birthday was offered. Just very disappointing.

What a treat! Our super generous friends had booked a table for the four of us at the end of our gorgeous walk and if anything, food and service were the best we’ve experienced at the Timble. I could have chosen any one of the wonderful starters or main courses, but opted for the kohlrabi followed by the duck and then shared a fantastic chocolate pudding. The presentation and garnishes were absolutely wonderful and every part of the meal was cooked to perfection. The waitress was a delight and happily dealt with our queries and made our evening such a special one. Thank you.

This was a celebratory dinner as my two grown up children both have their birthdays in December, and we were able to have a family meal together at this lovely restaurant. The weather was filthy. Dense fog on the drive their accompanied by what Peter Kay would call ‘that fine rain that soaks you through’. Mercifully on this evening before Christmas Eve there was no other traffic on the narrow lanes that form the way there. Once inside, there is a warm welcoming glow and friendly greetings. We had a cosy table for 5 in an alcove in the main bar. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy, but there was a gentle buzz to the atmosphere. Service was prompt, but they ran out of alcohol free beer after the first one. Bit short sighted that, in the run up to Christmas, and given the location of the pub most patrons will need to get there by car. To the food, the starters seemed to be universally well received by all of us. Mine was superb, and the roast cauliflower and cauliflower purée to accompany perfectly prepared scallops was judged just right. There was a lot going on with the garnish too, but everything was done with a light touch. Two of our number opted for the ‘Christmas lunch’ and the feedback, it was ok but not exceptional. The turkey was dry, and the roast potatoes tasted like they had been hanging around for a while. This is not unusual for pub grub, but the Trimble Inn bills itself on a higher plane that that, with prices to match, so must go into the category of ‘could do better’. I opted for the steak, which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by the reliable fare of fries, mushroom, tomato and onion rings. It was very tasty, but didn’t justify a price of £33 for a 7oz steak. It was very good, but £25 would have been a more appropriate price for food like this. The service was excellent, and we even had a wireless buzzer on the table which enabled us to call for the waiting team, and the bill when we were ready. So all in all it had been a good evening, we left happy, but with slight mixed feelings about the quality of some of the food. All credit to the restaurant for having a full vegetarian menu, and the opportunity to mix and match between this and the main one. None of us is a vegetarian but it is good to have the choice when a Christmas meat-fest is in prospect.

Delicious food, good service in a warm and welcoming environment. We ate from the a la carte menu. The food was all perfectly cooked, flavoursome and fresh. Beef daub was a hit, fish pancakes stuffed with scallops, fish and seafood a delight, fish and identical chips cooked to perfection and goats cheese tart was stunning. Desserts were good and macchiato coffees perfect - hot, good espresso and perfect froth. Lovely Christmas Eve treat after a walk around the lanes and Swinsty.

Went with my father for sunday lunch and it was terrible from start to finish , we asked for a quiet table but were seated next to a large family as they said the other tables were already pre-reserved - no one sat at any of them whilst we were there!! The food was average , but the staff were so inattentive and most of the time stood in a group with the manager , just chatting about their social lives and ignoring the customers . I was trying to get their attention to order more drinks but they continued their conversations so i resorted to going up to them and was told quite curtly that there are buzzers on the tables to press if i wanted service!!! I appreciate it's lockdown so the restaurants are having to make adjustments and I'm not gonna see the place in its "best" light. We're being asked to tolerate sachets of salt n pepper, using our phones to browse the menu, rearranged seating in less than ideal areas, so if you're going to ask the customer to accept these detractors then at least have the respect to apply the govt funded eat out to help out scheme. Costs u nothing, compensates for the inconveniences and lack of atmosphere that the customers endure. Disappointed with my experience of this place

The staff could not have done enough for us but at the same time kept a safe distance. Anything we needed was only the press of a button away. Service was not compromised, and neither was the food. Both of which were to the same high standard that we’ve grown to expect and for which the Timble Inn is known for. Six of us went for Sunday Lunch. The last time I was here must be about 30 years ago. What a lovely transformation. We were seated at a very pleasant table in a quiet area not too near and not too far from the bar. Ordered drinks and decided to miss the starters. We ordered 5 rare beef and 1 chicken. Everything about the meals was excellent except that at least one slice of beef on each plate was very chewy. Cooked correctly and tasted good, just chewy. The irritating thing that some of the slices were not. By the time we had detected and agreed the problem we had got too far to complain. As it happens the chicken was perfect.A pity because the rest of the lunch was too a very high standard.

A number of minor issues meant that it was not as enjoyable as this Mother's Day treat could have been. First the service. This was a bit sloppy. Several times the waitress had to come back to check the order, placed one meal in wrong place and also to check on the order.....for example didn't know what the cheeses were. Second, the cheeses. Local cheeses are not always better than some better known ones. This was very true here, especially the quite bland goats cheese. Then the lamb! Overdone, should have been pinker, which was disappointing! The other thing that was disappointing given it was Mother's Day and lots of young childen about there could have been a better Children's menu. Given this, the price for a children's menu was expensive.

Called in for a drink after walking our dogs around the local reservoirs. It was a sunny day so we sat in the garden (although dogs are allowed in the bar). The table was covered in previous occupants glasses and plates. A waitress came out to bring drinks to the table next door and I asked if she could clear the glasses and mentioned that the table was very wet so could she wipe it down. The people at the next table said theirs was wet too ie could she wipe that one down too. She told us that it had rained earlier hence the tables being wet. We'd been walking locally for the previous 3 hours and it hadn't rained in that time so I can only presume the water had been sitting on the tables all morning. She returned about 5 minutes later with some orange cloths, one she put on our table and one on the table next door, these were to enable us to wipe down our own tables!!!!! We couldn't quite believe what she'd done. My husband went into the bar to order drinks and she greeted him with 'hello lovely'. Whilst he's a good looking chap he thought this a bit informal for a first meeting!! We were quite amazed at the lack of service particularly as the pub wasn't busy.We live locally but I doubt we'll go back!

Great find. Good beers, friendly staff, and nice menu. Prices are reasonable, and it’s well worth a visit. We will be back

Fabulous building in the lovely Yorkshire Dales. The village is typical of the area and whilst a grey day it was still pretty. We are at the Timble Inn Restaurant, with plenty of choice for the Sunday lunch menu. The service was excellent and the food was really good. However, compared other great places to eat in the Dales, this was a bit overpriced.

We stayed overnight for dinner bed and breakfast on 10/3/18 with our friends and we had lovely rooms and an excellent dinner and service! However when we came to pay our bill prior to leaving we got a bit flustered by the lady who took our payment! The bill did seem to be considerably over what we had budgeted for but we paid and left. However on our arrival home we perused our receipt only to find we had been considerably overcharged! This was for drinks and wine we hadn’t had and not taking off the deposit we had paid! The manager was very good about re-Imbursing us but failed to apologise or offer us any compensation and I felt he was very dismissive about the whole issue, which I feel is not a good customer service and will not return or indeed recommend this place to others

Was expecting an old country inn /pub was not the case more like a restaurant with rooms lacked cosy atmosphere. Food was okay but over priced . Our room was lovely but let down by the cleaning in bathroom and very lumpy bed. Expected more for the price.

Perfect Sunday lunch. Classy place, sensibly priced. White table cloths, good wine list give this place a quality feel. Fish quartet starter and roast beef main were first class.

The Timble isn't a big Inn and the bar area is 'cosy' so you can feel a little close to other diners. The staff were great and made it plain that although food stopped serving at 2.30 we could stay all afternoon drinking coffees or whatever we chose. Food quality is good and the prices are only slightly higher than other pub restaurants in the area but the service is generally much higher.

This was our first visit for a number of years and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The Timble inn is set in a beautiful part of the dales and the interior is gorgeous. We we were warmly greeted by the friendly bar staff and were very excited by the delicious offers on the menu. My prawn cake was absolutely delicious, as was the main course of the chicken ballottine and the gooseberry fool . The portions are on the small side and our friend who had the turbot had to ask for the mashed potato, which should have been included. We were slightly disappointed when our waitress had to keep popping back to the kitchen to find the answer to every question we had about the menu, including to find out the soup of the day. That aside, the timble inn is a special pub and hopefully we just had a few teething problems as the new menu had been launched just the day before.

Was staying in Leeds and took a car ride out over the moors to the Timble Inn for Sunday Lunch. Took about 40 minutes from the centre of Leeds. Very scenic and enjoyable journey, Timble Inn in a great location in a tiny, sheltered, little village near the moors.Enjoyed a Dark Horse beer at the bar and settled down for lunch. Very jolly chap welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed roast lamb as a main course and then a very good cheese board for dessert with 6 local cheeses, including a charcoal smoked cheese which was very unusual (but very tasty). Food was of the highest quality and definitely is going to get the top marks. All in all a great location, impeccable service, great value for money and food of the highest quality. Must check it out for any special occasion.

Went to this charming country Inn just outside Otley!! The whole place is beautifully appointed and very well presented. The lunch was delicious very well presented and well cooked. They pride themselves on using the best seasonal fayre and it showed. The service was excellent but then was a little slower as Lunch staff left. The GM was very helpful as was the lady that took our order and gave me information about the place. We looked at two of the rooms which we're extremely comfortable and certainly worth a visit Overall great impression and we look forward to returning for Dinner.

Our first trip to The Timble Inn and can definitely say it won't be our last. The setting is just so picturesque, surrounded by countryside in a quaint little village, well worth the drive out. The staff were excellent, really friendly and helped us to feel relaxed. The food was very very good, my lobster ravioli as a starter was in particular a highlight, cooked to perfection! Keep up the fine work Timble Inn, we will definitely be back.

Visited on a Wednesday lunch time intending to have the set menu, however as it was a hot day we didn't fancy the limited options so chose from the main menu. The wild mushrooms on sour dough was a delicious starter and we chose fish pie as a main course, which was also very good. There were reasonably priced sandwiches on the menu as well if you want a cheaper option. Good choice of wine and lovely location - it's quite a small dining area so best to book.

The staff are great. They accommodated our new baby and made sure we had room for the pram. The food is the best quality whenever we come. Every time we come it makes me think why we didn't eat there before this year!.

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.
