We're staying in Tholthope and fancied Chinese on a Sunday night. The food was delicious, made spicier than normal for us and was steaming hot after a 5 mile journey back to our holiday cottage. We'll definitely be putting a recommendation in the guest book for you. Thank you, best Chinese we had in ages!

1st time visit as on holiday near here, the meals we had and service was second to none, brilliant, the only thing was when it came to paying the owner I think was standing over you and pointing to ,service charge not added , will not visit again, £60 including service charge, no wine or beer just had 2 small coca cola,s and 2 meals +poppadoms.

I came today to buy some products from the garden centre and I decided to have a cuppa and a piece of cake. I chose the chocolate Yule log , unfortunately the cake was very dry and stale to the taste so we did not eat it. When I politely raised this with a member of staff I was told it was yesterday’s delivery. I heard the waitress raise this matter with her colleague’s but no refund or exchange was offered, this is bad customer service. I have worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 30 years and I have a two one degree in business management and tourism, I should have been offered an apology and a different slice of cake, this would have been good customer service and this would have avoided a bad review.

We had a lovely meal and Sunday lunch here and they were both excellent! The food was to a high standard and the staff were all warm and friendly. We stayed in our motorhome on the pubs site which was also great! The pub is handy for the park and ride into York. A highly recommended 5*****

Visited as a couple 7 March. We were staying in the hotel. Ambience was good. The eating area could perhaps do with a bit of updating but it is fine. Menu is a mix of pub classics and more adventurous dishes. I had one of the latter as a starter, Lamb Tagine Roll with harissa mayo and smoked aubergine purée. Very good. The roll had chunks of lamb and the mayo had a kick. Tasted and presented very well. I had steak and ale pie for main. Appeared home made with real chips. Again very good Mrs W had the pork belly which she enjoyed too. We had a very nice bottle of NZ Sav Blanc as well. Very good value.

I have eaten at Clark's for over 25 years but now I will never eat here again. I am sick to death of the staff being rude and lazy thus resulting in poor hygiene and poor food. I ordered a chicken tikka Jacket potato with salad. I was told they had no salad except cucumber and tomato. When I got into my vehicle and opened the box I had the smallest jacket potato ever that was so cold it hadn't even begun to melt the butter or cheese, 3 pieces of cucumber and a bit of soggy tomato. Disgusting! I went back in to get my money back and saw staff cutting up lettice. So clearly the woman who told me no salad couldn't be bothered to chop it. The staff are rude and snappy, it's a hassle to serve you. The whole place is grimy so Im not suprised by how low their hygiene rating is. I've also rung up to order food to collect and been told that they don't do that (an omlette) when I've been ordering it for the last few years. They just can't be bothered to do it. Avoid if you want nice food and nice service.

This is properly the worst Indian food ever. The poppadoms tasted of old oil, the starter chicken pakora the batter was soggy. The chicken chatt was taste less. The pancake was just raw dough. The 2 main course were tasteless, we ordered to different of different strength, sadly they tasted the same no heat no spice not thrilling at all. It left us still craving for that Indian kick, and sadly a waste of 48 quid. Come on guys if you carnt cook the food of your hearatidge don't cook, it's unfair to paying customers. .

Cafe is closed with only the bakery open. Made to order sandwiches to take away. Cafe life in Easingwold seems to be centred on the market place now.

Worst Parmo I’ve ever had. It was seriously bad. This place really shouldn’t even be selling Chicken Parmesan if they can’t make them properly. The chicken was about 3 mm thick and covered in a thin layer of cheese. I wouldn’t even consider it a real Parmo. don’t waste your money. Get a kebab instead . Such a waste of money. Ordered a hotshot but there was not a slice of pepperoni or jalapeño in sight. I could tell by the state of this horrendous thing I had ordered that it wasn’t going to get any better if I went back and complained so I just ate regardless. Such a disappointment.

Darren
