I have eaten at Clark's for over 25 years but now I will never eat here again. I am sick to death of the staff being rude and lazy thus resulting in poor hygiene and poor food. I ordered a chicken tikka Jacket potato with salad. I was told they had no salad except cucumber and tomato. When I got into my vehicle and opened the box I had the smallest jacket potato ever that was so cold it hadn't even begun to melt the butter or cheese, 3 pieces of cucumber and a bit of soggy tomato. Disgusting! I went back in to get my money back and saw staff cutting up lettice. So clearly the woman who told me no salad couldn't be bothered to chop it. The staff are rude and snappy, it's a hassle to serve you. The whole place is grimy so Im not suprised by how low their hygiene rating is. I've also rung up to order food to collect and been told that they don't do that (an omlette) when I've been ordering it for the last few years. They just can't be bothered to do it. Avoid if you want nice food and nice service.

We were driving through easingwold on route to somewhere around elevenses time, saw this place and pulled up on the main road opposite st. Monicas hospital. We initially were just nipping in for a sit down coffee ,as they have a small seated area inside the shop.perusing the menu and the blackboard my partner & i opted for the roast beef & roast pork rolls which come with salad garnish and coleslaw. We had black americano and cappucino to wash down our food . Coffee is very good.food followed and the sandwiches were very nice too. Vast array of cakes, pastries to buy and they do daily specials.whilst we were there, cottage pie, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, sliced carrots and cabbage alongside the beef & pork were available to take out or eat in.i must say the cottage pie, which appeared to be selling well, looked nice with peas, sweet corn & green beans in it . They even do a meals on wheels dly service locally which is a good thing for the local community. Highly recommended !

Called to at the market place shop to collect some pies for a friend. My friend rang the shop at 2.30pm to add a couple more pies to her order and was told that was fine. The shop closes at 3pm and I arrived at 2.50pm to find the shop locked up, lights off and the closed sign on the door so couldn't collect my friends pies.

My wife and I called in for two sandwiches to take out..we ordered beef sandwiches, what a disappointment, they were far too big and should have been cut into two pieces, the beef was far too thick and should have been cut thinner,we couldn't eat it.We expected better. What a shame.

If you want a great full English breakfast, you can't beat Clarks Family Bakers in the Market Place. Washed down with a cup of good Yorkshire Tea - can't fault it.

A lovely cafe, well worth a visit. Had coffee and toast which was very nice. Lovely thick bread, soft butter and tasty marmalade. Excellent service, asked if we wanted more butter or marmalade. Then popped through to their bakery for bread and cakes to take home. Perfect!

Called in with kids for lunch asvwe were passing. Really is something to suit everyone on the menu. Food came quickly and was good. Only thing that lets it down are the toilets round the back near the carpark. Had we used car park and seen the toilets first we defiantly wouldn't have eaten there! But once inside it was absolutely fine. Hence the 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 We were at the 1 on Stillington road out of Easingwold, not the 1 in the market place.

I have stopped here twice recently. The 1st time I bought a sandwich to take out which was excellent. On the second visit sat outside in the sunshine on one of the tables provided and enjoyed a proper egg mayo sandwich on thickly cut brown bread with crisps, salad and coleslaw. Food not limited to sandwiches as breakfasts are served as well as a lunch menu.

We called for lunch and what a wonderful lunch. We eventually decided to order sandwiches but with such a lovely menu it was difficult to choose! The bread was thick and so tasty, lots of salad with a lovely dressing, crisps and coleslaw and the ham was proper Yorkshire ham. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and we will definitely return and would recommend to everyone.

We go to Clarks often when we take mum back to her home town of Easingwold. The food is excellent and well presented fresh and generous portions. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially as we are unwell they take time and show us dignity and respect and always reserve a table. If you can possibly fit anything else in have a pud! and if not buy something from the bakery next door and take it home. We were loathe to do this review as more people will go now but remember our seat when we ring ! Thanks All of you Carol and Shirley and Mum York xx

Never been to Easingwold and was pleasantly surprised by so many eateries. Chose Clarks and we were so pleased we did. Both ordered sandwiches with crisps, salad and coleslaw. I had tuna mayonnaise and my husband egg and cress. I must have had a whole tin of tuna in mine, such lovely thick fresh bread and such a refreshing change to tiny thin sandwiches you usually come across. The plate was completely full, no room for anything else on it. Such hearty portions!

We tried this tearoom/cafe just off the market square for a change , having tried the more centrally located cafes previously. It is a bit tucked away on a side road leading off from the central square, and more old fashioned and traditional . The bakery next door was established back in 1923, and the cakes, scones and bread are all freshly baked daily on the premises. The service was friendly and quick, we sat in pleasant summer sunshine on an outside table, and ordered 2 coffees and a cheese scone. There was a steady stream of locals going into the bakery next door for fresh baked bread, and there are also fresh made sandwiches, sausage rolls , quiche , cakes etc to take away. .Maybe because it is just outside the main tourist area, the prices here for coffee and cake are a bit more reasonable, so good value for money, a bit less trendy, perhaps appealing to a more mature clientele. The cheese scone was warmed for me, served with a little pot of butter, and was tasty . We had an appointment to go onto, so this was just a brief pit stop, but for a straightforward cup of tea or coffee, maybe a cake or a sandwich, then this is a good quieter traditional alternative that is good value for money compared to the more trendy busier establishments on the central square.

We have visited Clark's in Easingwold three times now recently and on all occasions we have had good food and service. First time we had lunch and it was lovely and reasonably priced, and the 2nd and 3rd time for tea and cake, also lovely and not too pricey. It's not a large place, but is small and friendly

Four very happy customers at Clarks this lunchtime. Christmas dinners all round which could not be faulted and can honestly say it was the first and could well be one of the best Christmas dinners of the festive season. We had turkey with stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, mash, perfect sprouts, carrots complimented with cranberry and bread sauces. Followed by a mix of Chrismas pud and Lemon syllabub between us. Not forgetting to mention the great staff. You won't get better. Deliberated writing a review for the sole reason that once word gets out might struggle to get a table next time!

Popped in for refreshments after a stroll around the lovely village of Easingwold, intent (indeed desperate) on having a fruit scone (rhymes with bone). Our tea and coffee was delivered in oversized pots before the waitress broke the devastating news that they had run out of fruit scones, offering me instead the far inferior cheese scone. My grief was partially mitigated by the fruit cake alternative.Putting things into perspective, your real world doesn't come to an end when the scones run out, but it is unforgiveable in the tea room world. What is really unforgiveable is a lavatory without toilet roll and very odd service... hence the points deduction

Can here for a change for dinner. But was sat waiting for over 10min for someone to come and ask me what I want. When she did come she took my order then 2mins later came back as she had forgotten what my drink was. There was not many people in about 6 in all. When food came it was very nice, but not once did they come to see if everything was OK. Had to go and get the bill.

Clark bakery started almost a century ago and the main premises on the Long Road are still going strong. The market place tearooms are closer to the small centre of Easingwold and unless you are nipping in for a quick cuppa, the market place is the more comfortable place to sit and eat. It is a place of bare wood tables and chairs, excellent baking and cheery service. They have an espresso machine so they do have a full choice of coffee styles available, using Taylor's coffee. Snacks, breakfasts and lunches available. This is a bit like going back a decade or three - it is not the modern cafe but it is a nice little place to sit quietly and enjoy a little piece of Easingwold cultural history.

A bit like going back in time - this place is desperate for a makeover. We had coffees & cakes after their pork roll with all the trimmings. The pork was OK but nothing outstanding. Coffee hot enough & OK taste-wise. Vanilla slice tasted a tad old & was certainly stodgy. Service? Youngish farmers'-daughter-looking girl was cheery & helpful, but the rest of staff seemed below par. The chef trudged through the café to their stockroom whilst we were there: he looked dirty & slovenly & certainly did nothing to enhance our views on the place. Old toilets are located outside & a walk into the car park to get to them. As I said, a bit like going back in time! With this in mind, there is probably a lot off potential, but right now we wouldn't return as overall it was below average & hardly a cheery place to be at all.

I visited here on 3 occasion's with different family members in a week! The staff are friendly, the Chef was an absolute Star! She literally done everything she could to accommodate my coeliac disease, meaning I never felt left out! The food was do fresh & tasty and no one left anything on their plates! Also bonus, they have an adjoining bakery with fresh baked items! Definitely worth a visit, if in Easingwold. Definitely recommend this lovely cafe.

Kids menu said see Special board but actually there was no special board for kids, again for pudding, kids menu advises seek specials, I did and was told I would have to pay adult charge? Shouldn't be advertising choice like this if they just dont do it? Also ice-cream detailed with a wafer and it didn't come with a wafer. Didn't complain or ask for wafer because I felt bad aboutasking about the specials menu twice. Service polite and friendly but slow - lots of eyes being rolled from customers. Shame because the place could be great.

We should have noted that all the café/restaurants in Easingwold were full except Clarkes. The good points were, the poached eggs were really dark yellow and tasty. The bacon was tasty and the beans were nice as well. The bad points. We ordered two Americano coffees and they came in cups not much bigger than expresso size! It was impossible to get you finger through the grip to hold it. Two good gulps and it was empty! We complained about the size of the cups and were brought two more in slightly larger cups. When my order of poached eggs on toast with some beans arrived it had part of my wifes order on it and the waitress didn't know what to do so we just swapped the items with our hands. We had asked for brown bread toast and were served the thinnest cheapest supermarket bread that I have ever seen. If it had seen the inside of a toaster for more than a minute I would be surprised. We queried with the waitress what spread had been used on the 'toast'. We suggested it was cheap margarine out of the huge plastic tubs and she didn't disagree. The 'toast' was soft soggy and inedible. I had also ordered a side portion of bacon which was 60 pence. For that I got half a slice of bacon!!My wife had a sausage which was really quite small and the portion of mushrooms she had could have fitted on a desert spoon. The staff were really quite dismissive and when we told them what we thought of the quality and the portion size one replied with 'well we are fully booked at lunchtime'This is without doubt the worst breakfast we have ever had and will not be returning. I must say they do an amazing job of making sure all the other cafes in the area are full so they should be applauded for that!!

We came for breakfast, we ordered a full English and both of us asked for it without some items which was no trouble and was offered extra bacon instead. All arrived as ordered and nicely presented. The waitress was attentive and pleasant and the cafe itself was nicely kept and clean. There must have been an offer on too which we hadn't noticed as the bill was a few pounds cheaper than expected. Looked like a good choice of food on the menu for any time of day.

I came here with mam for a cuppa, though partly because another place up the street had closed - at half 2! This is a nice little place with disabled access and a mixed toilet, which I didn't have an issue with. They had just stopped serving food when we got there but we weren't hungry anyway after a cooked breakfast at Mainsgill on the A66.

Cosy and friendly little cafe attached to the Millbry Hill shop but with its own entrance looking out over the bridge and the River Leven in Stokesley. Would definitely recommend the cheese scones.

We were staying at Hunton on holiday and wanted a local cafe so that we didn’t have to drive too far, ‘The Nest’ did not disappoint. What an incredible location, really friendly staff and gorgeous scones. Given that my Mum made thousands of them when we had a restaurant (and hers were always delicious), she gave 10/10 for the cherry one and I’d give the same rating for my yummy cheese one. If you like scones, stunning views and cute animals, this is the place for you!
