My partner and I visited Swirlz for National Ice Cream Day! We had a seat outside, and enjoyed our ice creams. My partner was given his ice cream at the till point, whilst I had around a 10-15 minute wait for my waffles, by which time Matt had finished his ice cream. It would have been better for them both to have been served together. We disn’t see anywhere on their Facebook that they did a doggy gelato. If we had been aware of this, we would have taken our puppy along.

Great sandwiches and sausage rolls at a great price. Chicken mayo sandwich packed full, could have done with a bit more chicken in though. Sausage rolls warm and tasty. Lovely .

Really good top quality comfort food for this time of year and good prices. Staff are really accommodating and cant do enough for you! Quiz is very entertaining. Good selection of spirits and good atmosphere. All in all a great place to go!

We went to get some ice cream with friends. They had loads of flavours to choose from! Definitely reccomend the chocolate orange 10/10.

Went for the cheesecake which was excellent. Attentive staff. Made to feel very welcome. A definate to go there again soon.

Absolutely nothing to fault here. One of the best pub meals we have ever had. It was recommended by our Airbnb hosts and we are so pleased we tried it out. The Belly Pork and the Lamb Shank were both so well cooked, seasoned and served with ample sauce/gravy. The apple sponge pudding was so light and fluffy and the ‘special’ dessert of chocolate and brandy torte was perfect. The staff were welcoming, polite, professional and did everything to please. Well done, we may live 125 miles away but next time we visit York we will be back. Thank you.

Lovely food, very rarely busy, friendly staff. Takeaway is also good. Possibly a bit pricy for a regular trip.

Absolutely beautiful place. Lovely staff. Very helpful. I spilt my wine before a sip and immediately cleared up and gave me a free one. Made me feel comfortable not embarrassed .Amazing food and extensive food and wine menu. Top quality food. Would highly recommend definitely.

Tbh a little bit out of the way but they looked after us after we slept in the wrong room on the first night..lol Both of us had the best 2 nights sleep for absolute ages and breakfast was proper.. very quiet countryside location and the bus is only £2 to York centre

Sadly we never sampled the food as we were passing through. This is a lovely traditional pup with a very friendly and welcoming landlord. We have to keep using these establishments or we will lose them forever. Good beer, friendly locals and dog friendly, what more do you need. Thank you
