Only open Thursday evening and Friday lunch, best to book in advance. We had two courses, cauliflower soup and fish cake starters and roast pork and rainbow trout mains. Cost was exceptional value at £21. Was delicious and professionally served by the students. Would highly recommend.

First time visited here and not disappointed. While not a vegetarian, I did not miss meat in this super tasty and freshly made wrap. While they don't have gluten free options (I asked for a co-worker) anything in a wrap can be served as a salad box. Great food, friendly server and well worth the money. Update...came back again with the husband...still excellent... Card payment accepted but pay cash if you can....doesn't cost small businesses!

A cosy little cafe within easy walking distance of the town centre. Friendly service and £3 for a great mug of latte and a tasty cake, fantastic.

Elwell's restaurant in Beverley stands out as a hidden gem that delivers on all fronts - service, cuisine, and value. From the moment you step through the door, the attentive staff creates a welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The service here truly shines, with staff who strike the perfect balance between professional efficiency and genuine warmth. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate diners' needs elevates the entire experience. The food is nothing short of excellent. Each dish demonstrates careful preparation and thoughtful presentation, suggesting a kitchen team that takes pride in their craft. The quality of ingredients is evident in every bite, and the execution is consistently impressive. What makes Elwell's particularly noteworthy is how they manage to deliver this high standard of food and service while maintaining reasonable prices. In an era where quality dining often comes with an eye-watering bill, Elwell's offers remarkable value for money. The portion sizes are generous, and the pricing feels fair for the quality received. The combination of outstanding service, excellent cuisine, and reasonable prices makes Elwell's a standout choice for both special occasions and casual dining in Beverley. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that excels across all aspects of the dining experience without commanding premium prices. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a reliable, high-quality dining experience that won't break the bank. Elwell's proves that exceptional food and service can still come at accessible prices. Verdict: A must-visit restaurant that delivers consistency, quality, and value in equal measure.

The food and cocktails were all really lovely. We've been coming for years. My only criticism is that it makes me uncomfortable that they now add a service charge on without asking. We're already spending £100 between two of us. It does make me hesitate coming in. It would be better to leave tipping to the customer, instead of making it an expectation. We asked for it to be removed and were made to feel awkward about it

A little gem of a place tucked away in an industrial area next to the River Hull. It was recommended to me so we used it for the cafe stop on our ride (7 of us). Tidy place, warm welcome, great value food which was served quickly, and huge mugs of tea and coffee (refillable for free with food). Toilet facilities good, plenty of parking and a steady flow of customers. Will certainly visit again.

This is not quite a review, just a story, I guess. I went to eat here a handful of times maybe 6-7 years ago when I was on my business trips in the area on a regular basis. Great selection of seafood that was hard to find in down south and I always made time to stop by for lunch on my way. One evening I managed to have a dinner there, and had maybe one too many glass of wine with delicious meal, and happen to chat with owner's son, whom I commented looked very young! He laughed it off, I had pud and coffee after that, paid with good tip and I left. Then next thing I know, every time I called to make a booking I was told it's fully booked. I gave up after maybe 3 attempts. Maybe it was coincident, maybe? Maybe not. Apparently that was a touchy subject? Or was it because I'm not white Brits? (They always was a bit funny with my accent and asked me to repeat many things. This never happens elsewhere.) My favourite eatery was no more for me. I was never banned from any place before and this really made me nervous to even talk to any staff in restaurants after that. I do miss this place, because I loved the food, loved the building and I was telling anyone and everyone how nice it was. It was rather painful to be told "It's fully booked" everytime without any explanation.
