Friendly member of staff told us that they no longer do food since lockdown except for cakes and beverages. Didn't stay for cake as we were hoping to have lunch.

Just called in for a cup of tea. It turned out to be proper strong tea - well done! And a milk jug that actually pours properly. Nice environment too. Will return.

The theatre is wonderful and so is the bar. Its only small so if you arrive close to curtain up expect a bit of a wait to get served. Drinks go in plastic glasses and can be taken into the venue.

The ERT cafe has become our favourite place to have lunch and we often bring friends. Spatious cafe in a quiet setting, very friendly staff and most of all, a wide range of excellent meals! The daily special is always delicious and vegan and gluten free, but certainly appeals to everyone. And as an added bonus, the cafe is dog friendly and staff always bring out a bowl of water for our dog.

I regularly visit with my mum and son and we have never had a meal that we havnt enjoyed. All of the staff are very helpful and polite and the chef is particularly an asset to the cafe bar. All of the food tastes fantastic and it is all very reasonably priced. Nothing is too much trouble and they will try their best to accommodate any allergies etc people have. I would thoroughly recommend this cafe to anyone.

My daughter and I visit frequently for lunch and we are never disappointed. Everything is made by the chef on the premises, freshly prepared as ordered and is delicious. The menu gives an excellent choice but there is always something different to try on the daily specials board as a main course and soup are displayed. As the portions are very generous we haven't tried the cakes but they look delicious. There is a wide choice of coffee, tea and other drinks and so lovely to be able to help yourself to water.. The environment is calm and relaxed with the opportunity to eat outside on warm days and the staff are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. This cafe bar really is a hidden gem.

Visiting friends for the weekend and popped in for a bit of lunch. Very impressed with the selection of food at a reasonable price. Best bean burger I've ever tasted and wonderful homemade tomato and red pepper soup. Treated ourselves to delicious millionaire shortbread with our pot of tea. All of the food is freshly prepared by friendly staff so sit back and relax in this lovely listed building.

I had no idea there was a Café in the Theatre when I came in to book tickets so I decided to stay for lunch. I had a Bean Burger and a Latte and was really impressed! It was a hot day so I sat in on the terrace and relaxed, it is a hidden gem and I would definitely recommend to anyone living or visiting Beverley.

My wife and me went to the House Cafe for afternoon tea, we had a choice of sandwiches and of course, hot drinks but also a choice of jam to go with the scones, we also had a nice slice of cake which appeared to be home-baked but very nice (and moreish). The staff is very friendly and efficient and service was excellent. Parking is non-existent in the immediate vicinity but if you're in the town it is a short walk from all other centrally located sites. A very good experience all round. Well done House Cafe.

We were looking for somewhere dog friendly for lunch after our visit to Wandahome in South Cave. The owners were really welcoming and it was nice and cosy inside on a cold day with the fires lit. As it was a Sunday we opted for the Sunday Roast. It was a tough choice though because the menu is fantastic! The drinks menu is equally as good as the food menu too. The food came out in good time and was one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time! We managed to squeeze in some deserts and can definitely recommend the chocolate brownie and the sticky toffee pudding. Service was excellent and our pup got lots of fuss too. If you’re in the area and are looking for great food and drink in a lovely atmosphere, then this is your place! You won’t be disappointed.

Afternoon tea was amazing. Delicious homemade food. Surpasses more famous afternoon tea destinations. Excellent value for money.

We stumbled across this little gem on a Saturday late afternoon. Fabulous pint of Marmalade Porter followed by a gastronomic extravaganza of small plates…..all amazing! So good we cancelled Sunday lunch plans and are returning today! We have eaten at Michelin starred places on many occasion and this food is right up there but in a relaxed environment and very reasonable. We have found our new fave place for our visits to the east coast and will struggle to go anywhere else now. Would highly recommend 🙏
