Went for carvery, but they had no electricity. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate us anyway, offering very generous takeaway portions at reduced prices. Well worth a visit, especially when the lights are on... 😀

Collected 2 Sunday cavery from yourselves today and they were absolutely perfect as always. Good sized portions, plenty of different vegetables to choose from, all well packaged and still warm when I arrived home. All the staff are very friendly and helpful even when very busy like today. Thank you, we will be back again soon 😃

Family of 4, we called in and we’re very happy with the food and service, this pub is a good find, we’re here on holiday and have been coming to the area for many years but had never been to the Watts Arms before. Will definitely be back, reasonable prices, great value, generous portions and high quality in a traditional old country pub.

Had a lovely Sunday Cavery takeaway from here this week and it was absolutely delicious. Great portion sizes, lots of fresh vegetables, the meat was tasty and it all arrived hot and cooked to perfection. The young gentleman behind the bar who served me was very pleasant, and chatty while I was waiting. Great service from all, we will definitely be back 😋

Behind an unassuming frontage lies a welcoming pub who serve honest home-cooked food and the portions are huge! Stopped in my tracks by delicious sweet and sour chicken whilst my family had a similar experience with their meals! Great value and fast, kind wait staff. Wish I knew about this place at the start of my holiday in the local area, we'd have been back loads! Update Aug 24: Returned again a year later to find the same quality of food and service as before. Portion sizes large, cooked to perfection. The waiter was really attentive and kind. Really love this place, wish we had somewhere as good as this local to where we live.

The best village pub.. The carvery is outstanding and unlike most chain pubs. You actually get a damn decent amount of meat..

We ate here on 3 occasions, whilst on holiday in the area, and it is gold stars across the board for Laura and all the team involved in making this a special place.We were warmly welcomed by friendly, caring staff and fed like Kings on glorious well cooked food.Huge portions,so make sure you are hungry on arrival.Many thanks to all the team for 3 enjoyable evenings spent in this lovely village pub.We will be back next year!

Only a small pub. Food was nice, had fish and chips, nearly didn't have it as usually if menu says fish it's either pollock or Thailand river fish, but it was haddock.

Staying in the area on holiday and needed a dog friendly pub and this pub certainly is. Food is good and reasonably priced. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Absolute gem of a place, customer service was fantastic. The lady running the kitchen was so bloody nice and treat my dog to a Sunday dinner. Nothing was too much trouble and food portions were HUGE. My partner has autism and usually struggles with new places due to sensitivities to fruits and vegetables so always asks for things plain, and it is one of the only places that has actually given him what he asked for the first time without him becoming stressed at the thought of asking for something to be changed. The young lady who took his order was clear in her understanding of what he asked for. Maybe small things to some people but huge to us as food is a massive trigger for him. Thank you to such a great team for making us feel so welcome. Will definitely come again soon. Five Stars 🌟

Popped in for a couple of pints while staying in the area. Two rooms , bar looked small and busy so we went in the "lounge" . Very friendly , and our small dog welcomed. It was a bit stark and brightly lit, however was clean and looked like some decorating/refurb had taken place. Decent choice of beers on draught and partner had red wine. Didnt eat so cant comment. Pleasant hour or so spent before we left to grab takeaway from over the road.

The Watts Arms is a nice traditional village pub. It is situated just off the main road, so you dont notice it when you drive through the village. It is a two roomed pub with the lounge mainly for meals. The bar has a dartboard and a pool table. There is a good choice of beers, lagers, and cider, including two cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I haven't had any food here, so I can not comment on the meals. There is some outside seating. A good pub worth visiting.

Amazing food and friendly service Definately go again

Huge portions, very reasonable prices and the home made chips are amazing. Would definitely return. We arrived Sunday afternoon having booked for 5pm. We’d hoped to have the carvery, but as they were at the end of carvery serving, meat choices were limited so ordered from the menu. Food was amazing. See pictures. Only minor thing was no water offered for the dog, but he was welcome.

Staying in the village, after seeing reviews decided to give it a try for Sunday lunch. We chose carvery. Amazing food and plenty of it. We then had biscoff cheesecake, shared between us. So yummy. Staff very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Came tonight for dinner with my elderly mum and my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. First time but won't be the last. Very friendly from customers to staff. Food absolutely spot on and the size of the portions was amazing. Certainly can't say you don't get value for money. All freshly cooked and you could tell it was home made. The night was slightly spoilt for us by the noisey group on the table In front of us who really could have more decency to keep their cackling down a bit. None the less, this isn't the fault of the pub and we couldn't fault the service. The customers in the bar even held the door for us as mum went out and wished us a good night. True friendly local pub with fab meals and a mixed grill you wouldn't believe. Thank you. We will return.

Just had our Good Friday fish and chips, they were absolutely fantastic! Lovely fresh fish and ‘proper’ chips. Will defo be having the fish from here again.

A very traditional and unassuming pub from the outside. On entering the staff were very attentive but most importantly the food was lovely and the portion size was tremendous! We had the gammon, steaks etc and each plate was served with pride. The food was definitely home cooked, the chips and onion rings were lovely! Highly recommend a visit.

Went for Sunday lunch and one of the few places Where there is an alternative to a carvery on a Sunday! I had pie and chips and it was absolutely delicious! My kids, 6 and 4 could have shared a meal there was so much ! Will definitely be back.

We both had gammon, well I couldn't believe the size of it ,we both had to ask for a doggy bag to take home.every thing was nicely cooked, value for money. Would definitely go back.

Delicious meal this afternoon with my Son and grandchildren,food was hot and well served wide variety of meat and vegetables, a very good price and the syrup sponge and custard I had for dessert was absolutely superb....we will be back

Traditional pub with no frills. Sunday carvery was excellent. Meat was tender and tasty with lots of veg. Great value. Just make sure you have a good appetite.

This is the 3rd times I have ordered from here and I must say the food and service in general is very good. The carvery has been good, however, I have ordered steak twice now, the first time I ordered medium rare and it came medium to well done so recently I ordered 'rare' so I could guarantee (i thought) I would have expected something at least pink and a bit bloody, not only was it very well done, the steak was very thin and grisly also made up of 2 bits of meat (not 1 steak as you would expect) uneven thickness. The rest was very nice and well presented but after 2 bad meals now I am wondering whether to order again.

Stayed on holiday close by to the pub, and saw they offered take out while still not able to fully open. Ordered 3 x evening meals Friday and 3 x Sunday carvery lunches yesterday. Wow, what can we say! Amazing food, generous portions, fresh and hot, well packaged and price was great value. Staff on phone and face to to face were friendly and helpful, and all current Covid guidelines maintained. Thank you.

Ordered from here for the first time this afternoon for Sunday roast and a steak dinner for delivery. Quick service and friendly delivery driver. food arrived red hot and didn't dissapoint. Large portions and great quality food and very reasonable I can't wait to be able to go eat inside the pub when it's possible. 5 star

Wonderful Sunday dinner couldn't ask for better

Me and my hubby throughly enjoyed it. The first time we have eaten from here we will be ordering again. Even told people how amazing it is. Hubby had chicken wings starter and fish and chips for mains and I had lasagne and fudge cake yummy. Can't wait to order again.

We use this Restaurant for Sunday Lunch and Friday Evening Tea, food is always perfect and last nights homemade stew was to die for, thick carrots, large chucks of beef, plenty of Potatoes and perfect dumplings, Sunday Lunch is great success and not a frozen...

Had a few meals here, would definately recommend the Sunday Carvery, book if you can as it's really popular. The meat was perfect...large selection of freshly made veg's, yorkshire puds etc. Excellent value for money, first class service, clean and comfortable, friendly. Will be back!

Carvery is not normally my thing, being vegetarian, but a great choice here, vegi meatloaf, mince, sausage or burger. Staff here friendly and extremely helpful. Plates piled high whatever your choice.

It great for food top pub and restaurant

We've now had several meals here since we moved into the village less than a month ago and not had a bad one yet. The first thing I have to comment on is the lovely atmosphere and the great welcome we received. The locals, as well as the bar and kitchen staff, were friendly and acknowledged us! Ricky behind the bar is very knowledgeable about his beer and keeps a good cellar, plus there was a good variety on the pumps which pleased my other half immensely - great prices too. I quite enjoyed the idea of starting to tackle the range of gins - it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it! And now onto the piece de resistance, the food! The food is lovely and such great value - fresh veg, home made chips, big plates filled with good, home cooked food. My fave - the home made steak and ale pie which consists of a deep dish full of delicious steak and gravy with a puff pastry lid. Plenty of tasty gravy to dip your chips into but also plenty of meat. I had the gammon one night - or should I say a side of pig that almost filled the plate. Even the side salad is good - no paltry bit of iceberg lettuce, slice of tomato and a quarter of cucumber here. Nicky doesn't do things by halves, and I mean that! But don't worry about the big portions if you don't have an appetite to match - if you have a smaller appetite there is also a children's menu available, or just have a word with Nicky, she's very accommodating. My other half enjoyed his lasagne, scampi and a dish off the specials board, and he's not easy to please, believe me. So, here's to many more future visits - cheers :)

Booked a table for Mother's Day lunch. Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and quickly showed us to our table. Although they were full, we were made to feel welcome and not rushed. We opted to try the carvery. We had a few reservations as the price of the carvery was £6.50 but these were soon gone. Choice of 3 meats and copious amounts of fresh veggies, stuffing and yorkshires. I have never had a better carvery. This is what a carvery should be like. Well done to all the staff, 5* service and quality. going back again
