Great dog freindly pub inside and out with a covered outside area if you want to admire the sea view.

Tucked away in the little village of Wesk Cowick. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Found this excellent pub whilst on holiday. The staff were very welcoming and also dog friendly. We visited three days on the trot and found the food consistently excellent. I had vegetarian meals which were fabulous, John had meat meals which were equally very good. Can highly recommend this pub.

We came at 2100 hrs on Friday night as part of an MNDa walkng team 53km into a 100 km walk from Leeds to hull . The reception was outstanding from the pub clientel and the licencsee . It was a planned visit but they fed and watered us for a 30 minute turn around as we were time limited. There was no charge for about 20 of us. This was a critical time in the walk for a boost and boy did we get it . This is the kind of place that needs supporting and we will be back shortly with some surprises. Such a friendly atmosphere, the staff are so welcoming

Came here with family for the Sunday lunch. Never been before but we were greeted by the staff as if we were old friends. The meal was outstanding! The staff couldn't do enough for us, making sure we had everything we needed. Sat later in the beer garden which is laid out like an outside lounge. Perfect in every way and we will definitely be returning.

We went on a Sunday for a stop off, Fabulous place to drink and eat. Food is wonderful. Staff are friendly also. would def recommend, please be aware that you may need to book if you are wanting food so would advise contacting them the day beforehand

Proper pub, just as they should be, I wish I lived nearby but as it is, 30 miles is a long way for a couple of pints

This is our third visit to this pub. The first time was earlier in the summer, we’d been to a nearby village and decided to call in for a nice cold drink as it was so hot that day. Even with it being our first time in the staff were great with us. Made us feel welcome. As we noticed they did Sunday dinners we decided to visit again and try out the dinner. Once our order had been placed we didn’t wait that long til it arrived. Choice of four meats, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, mashed & roast potatoes and stuffing were on offer. Very tasty. Late August we’ve come back for a third time for a Sunday dinner. This time around we got to chat with the landlords of the place who were very friendly with us and the service they provide was spot on and what they did never looked a chore to them. Their view is that you are the paying customer so they look after you well. We are coming back again this time treating my mum out for a meal. I don’t think at all you’ll walk away disappointed.

Went for a meal with my other half and the food was amazing the staff were very friendly and I will be making a regular appearance for the amazing food.

My family and I have visited the Ship Inn several times for Sunday lunches. They are beautiful! Extremely good value for money. Suitable for all ages. Very polite and friendly staff.

Went for su day lunch with my family. Couldn't be more accommodating. I am gluten free and my daughter is gluten and dairy free and we both had an amazing home cooked Sunday lunch.

Well what can I say apart from Superb! We went for a Sunday lunch which we have heard so Much about, had to try it for ourselves, and we were not dissapointed. It was gorgeous, didn't have to wait long at all and all the staff & pub owners were so friendly & helpful.

Sunday 16 th. December 2018. We had a wonderful lunch the food was excellent, with large portions & similar with our deserts. The management set two long tables and we had a good family time. All previous excellent reports were spot on in our experience. Many thanks to the management & staff.

Went to the ship on reviews seen on trip advisor. Had Sunday lunch and pudding and they were right, some places you get a plate full but lacks taste, however the ships Sunday lunch was all what other advisors had said. Tasty and a delight to eat , staff were lovely, polite and a pleasure to be served by. We also had the pleasure of baby Orla a lovely little girl who also made an enjoyable lunch. Will be going again, one thing to remember it only takes cash, not plastic.

My wife and family go here most Sundays for lunch they serve excellent meals and deserts all of which are excellent value for money and friendly staff to top it off, what more could you ask for

Went yesterday for Sunday lunch - family of sisters and their husbands. as usual they did not disappoint. Service was great and the owners daughter always has a smile to greet you. The food was delicious, all the meats tender with home made yorkshires and veg. The portions are so good and I defy anyone to get as good a meal at the price. the owner has said they are hoping to sell but we hope they do not sell too quickly and when they do to remind the new owners of the standard they will need to keep. Well done to all the family
