We popped in early evening 18th Nov to this traditional British pub with the roaring fire, locals / walkers / residents with dogs at their feet and a great selection of drinks and beers. Whilst we did not have any food on this evening the food that was being brought from the kitchen looked fresh and homemade. The menu is what you'd expect from such a quaint place. We were staying at pods some 3/4 mile away. With being non resident we asked if they done breakfast. We paid the evening before and breakfast was served 8.30 - 9.30. (I do not know if they'd serve non residents at peak times) Whilst I'd say breakfast was limited, it emulated the food from the night before fresh and homemade.

Misunderstanding with my order .. I wanted chicken nuggets, accidentally got fish strips... I am not a fan of fish, usually avoid it and don't eat it. Decided to give it a go. Very pleasantly surprised, it was very good and tasty. Might be having actual fish and chips from now on!

Bit grubby in areas (downstairs toilets) and bar area tables were dirty. Lick of paint etc but nothing major. Room great. Spacious, comfy bed and all usual bits and bobs. Menu a bit dear. Had 2 curries which were full of big lumps of broccoli and cabbage! Few bits of chicken. Only 5 people seated and the service was very slow. Nothing wow about the starters either. Breakfast is continental. Bacon and sausage available plus pastries and cereal etc. Did the job. Self service. Location of hotel great for the cave and walks etc. No entertainment nor any other pubs around so an early night. Bar staff nice but get chatting to locals and don't realise people are waiting. Saw 2 couples give up and go bed.

My husband enjoyed a tasty giant yorkshire pudding with lamb and vegetables and my cheese and onion pie with chips and veg was tasty! A lemon meringue pie with cream and a moist Yorkshire teabread with butter and cheese for afters, served with a nice pot of Earl Grey and a china cup and saucer, finished the meal nicely!

Stayed 1 night in the 4 poster bed room. Very Quiet, extremely comfortable though of a limited space. The bathroom and toilet ensuite with a corner walk in shower. The shower hose offers very little flexibility. Even meal was excellent and a Fresh Full English Breakfast The hotel is undergoing refurbishment adding extra rooms. I'm sure it will be a future success

Came in to have a coffee. Lots of cakes and bread on display but nothing has a price on! Would have to ask to know what anything costs! Pies uncovered on top were over cooked/burned. Not sure why you would put them out. And everything being uncovered and where people queue is off putting. Seeing people cough and sneeze next to food you are expected to eat is not my idea of good hygiene. No one in kitchen wearing hair nets, and saw one member of staff wipe her nose on back of her hand, another poking her ear before both went back to handle food. Young woman asked if we wanted food. I said no just coffee. Reply was well you’ll need to wait. Well the wait wasn’t worth it. The drink I had was nothing like coffee. Warm milky water maybe. Very disappointing. And somewhere we have previously enjoyed. It used to be excellent. What’s happened?

We visited The Marton Arms on a Saturday night in May as part of a weekend of celebration for my mums 80th birthday. What a lovely place to go! Great food, beer and service!👍🍺 Heather and the team looked after us superbly. Thank you! 👏👏
