Used the hotel as a night stop over from Glasgow to Essex, very pleasant, full English breakfast was great for the journey south. Certainly would stay again.

UPDATE TO LATEST VISIT ON 13/10/24 I booked a room for a Sunday night stay on their website, a deposit was taken but when we got there I was told they were shut. According to the bartender/waiter/receptionist It now only operates on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. CHECK WITH THE HOTEL BEFORE BOOKING YOUR ROOM. Visited on 14/05/24: Excellent pub food in a great location. We stayed overnight and the room was spotless, comfy and quiet. It also overlooked the car park so we could keep an eye on our bikes. We had a traditional Sunday Roast dinner that was very well portioned with homemade Yorkshire puddings and tasted delicious, both the pork and the beef. Then the warm apple flan with vanilla ice cream was a real treat. Black Sheep's best bitter was in fine fettle along with the other guest ale. In the morning there was a very good selection of freshly made pastries and croissants along with a good cup of coffee. The Full English Breakfast is generously proportioned and will set you up for a long day of walking or biking. Very friendly and courteous staff too. If you want somewhere cosy with fantastic food this is the place to visit. Will definitely be back.

I have just stayed for 1 night with my wife to do Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent. Staff very welcoming and in particular David who couldn't do enough for us. We also got a free upgrade to a larger room inside the main building which was very welcome. Nice comfortable room with a hugh bed and a nice view from the window. There was a good range of real ales in the bar and we had the 2 courses for £25 offer in the evening which was good value. Really tasty food and nicely cooked. The cooked breakfast was lovely as well. Can't really fault the place, and we'll definitely be back.

This hotel is great! Very nice decor, gives old English vibes. Our room was pretty big and bathroom more than ok. Floorboards squeaked a bit, so you hear everything thats going on in the hallway. But thats part of the charm i guess. We had dinner at the restaurant and were quite surprised. Food was super good and not to expensive. This hotel is super dog friendly, a big plus for us. And although the room was a bit warm at night (old English charm and vibes make for non AC rooms), definitely recommend staying here!

Stayed here for 2 nights in this beautiful location as we did the waterfalls walk up in Ingleton - a short distance away. We felt very welcome and a minor issue was resolved very quickly. Very friendly staff, very comfortable and excellent food in a lovely pub.

🌟Super Chef Leighton saves the day in Clapham! 🌟 After a long walk we were looking forward to our stay in Clapham and it was such a stunning pub in a beautiful location for both relaxation and adventure. My partner and I are vegan and also had to adhere to the FODMAP diet for medical reasons but unfortunately, despite an email being acknowledged a week before, were greeted with a lack of communication and understanding by the manager. Luckily, Leighton the head chef was more than up for the challenge and showed a great deal of enthusiasm for making a delicious dinner and brilliant breakfast. A young waiter on shift was also very helpful with checking the wine and general service. Service at breakfast was a little fiendly in regards to the diet aspect but the food was great again thanks to Leighton and overall the stay was pretty pleasant with a great room too.

The best value for money hotel in the whole of the north of England. We were travelling down from Glasgow to Wales and needed to rest a little on the journey down. My fiancée saw this place and looked beautiful on the outside and the fireplace just made it feel so homely! Seriously friendly staff! A big massive thank you to Will, the customer service God! He worked night and day to make all the guests feel super welcome and hats off the the chef who cooked us an amazing breakfast! It was the thing of beauty! I have been so impressed I think I’ll book another stay and have a little more time to explore the area! Seriously good job guys! Thank you!

Perfect location if you’re doing the ingleborough walk. Service slow even when quiet. Hotel room was clean and basic, the heating was an issue as no thermostat so we were either freezing or boiling. Bed was ok however duvet cover was too small for the bed so we were fighting for covers. We didn’t sleep well at all. Bathroom ok, no wash products just hand wash in shower. Finishing touches should be better, the shelf on the bathroom is sloping so doesn’t actually hold anything. Breakfast was very limited. No continental apart from rice crispies or croissant, no fruit or yoghurts and hot menu was very limited. With more attention to detail it could be better. This is NOT a 5 star hotel. I would say 3 at most at the moment.

****DELIVERY REVIEW**** Perfect if you fancy a plate of disappointment with a side of disgust. Chicken doner came without a salad, and no sauce. Naan was meant to be cheesy but it was plain and half-raw. Mint sauce came out of nowhere, as it was not in the order. Bubble tea was utterly disgusting, and should honestly be taken off the menu. Glad I had it delivered before actually dining in, now I know it is a place to avoid.

We stayed in one of the cottages as we have done previously as we like the space and views. Firstly, the niggles… parking outside the cottages is tight and in some cases very difficult to get in and out of without causing damage to cars or misc ironmongery in situ. Yes, “it’s a good job there’s a large carpark” as the receptionist said rather condescendingly, but as the spaces are there and unloading of stuff is required, it’s inevitable that cottage guests attempt these spaces and end up regretting it. Our other niggle was the breakfast team weren’t as on the ball. There was no natural yoghurt during our 3 night stay, bowls had run out and not been replenished (the staff knew but as it was approaching the later stage of the breakfast window, they’d ignored the matter) and breakfast generally was not the slick operation we’d experienced before. We had lovely meals in the snug and in the restaurant, although the snug is small (3 tables) so if two tables were being used by couples dining and one by a group just drinking (as was the case), the noise disturbance was unpleasant. On to the positives, the cottages are very well equipped and serviced to an above & beyond level each day. The staff in the bar and restaurant were all efficient & engaging. It’s a lovely place in a beautiful setting with a friendly vibe offering varied & quality food. We’d recommend and would revisit.

Best place to get an ice cream from, the owners of the boat Nick and Cath are so friendly, their hospitality towards both regular customers and visitors alike to the Town is second to none. You can also buy tea and coffee along with your favourite chocolate bar. Also don't forget Roo she's a lovely little pooch. You know Spring has arrived when you see the tug with all the shutters up and the flag out.
