We visited while on holiday in the village after reading the reviews on here. The restaurant is small but didn’t feel awkward at all - just glad we booked! The pasta dishes were all delicious and everything was very reasonably priced. Lovely friendly waitress and atmosphere was perfect. Definitely give this place a visit if you’re staying in Ingleton!

A very small family run restaurant, but with a lovely intimate atmosphere. Lovely freshly made italian dishes - so it's not fast food, but well worth the wait.

My husband and I visited La Tavernetta on Saturday night and are so pleased we did. Both of us were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and how reasonably priced it was. We shared a bruschetta to start, which was delicious and very filling. For mains, my partner had the wild boar ravioli from the special board, which was very flavoursome and I had the salmon penne, which was divine. The restaurant itself is teeny but a welcoming space and we didn’t feel pressured or rushed in any way. The staff were attentive and friendly. While dining we saw many walk-in customers being turned away due to the restaurant being fully booked, so booking on weekends is clearly necessary. We will 100% be booking again next time we are in the area.

The absolute best Italian food I’ve had outside Italy. The food was literally incredible. What we really liked was that it wasn’t too rich, just carefully and deliciously cooked. We had bread with an excellent olive tapenade, calamari, mussels and garlic mushrooms to start. Then steak and truffle pasta, lobster ravioli and pasta primavera. All of them were amazing. The portions were perfect. The restaurant itself is super cute with kids drawings on the walls and authentic Italian art work. The service was also fab- super chill but very attentive. We waited for nothing. I can’t stress enough how much this place is worth a visit. It was just a wonderful experience from start to finish. Thanks so much! - shout out to the waitress with the blonde hair who worked Thursday 27th June- you were awesome. Really grateful for a great night out.

A gem of an Italian. It has a cosy feel, there are only a few tables, but the food is exceptional. I had a pasta dish from the specials board, but I can't remember the name, but it is one of the best pasta dishes I've ever tasted. We finished off with a Sherry and coffee, a nice end to a lovely meal. Highly recommended if you stop in Ingleton.

We’ve eaten here a few times before but it is worth mentioning that the standard of food and service has never dipped below a 5 star rating. Always been served by polite staff who are chatty, even when the restaurant is busy. The chef / owner will take the time (if he can) to come and chat to customers. The food he delivers is always top notch, never had a poor meal. Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We booked a week in advance having been informed that the place is only small. Thankfully there was a table for two spare at 6.30 on a Sunday evening. The place was full on arrival and we saw people being turned away. After a friendly welcome and a hint to take a photo of the specials board as it's quite comprehensive we were shown to our table. There was some delicious sounding specials so we opted for two pasta dishes and a tricolor garlic bread all to be served at the same time. The food was absolutely delicious and two happy customers had a nice walk back to our B&B nearby.

Ordinarily this would be a five star review. This restaurant is one of my favourites, it’s a lovely little place and the food is delicious, which is why my husband booked a table for my birthday last Sunday for us and two friends. We had travelled to Ingleton and were staying over specially for that night. We walked past the restaurant earlier in the evening and saw guests eating there, so when we returned at our booking time, 8.30pm, imagine our disappointment to find it closed, with all the lights off. Pubs nearby had all stopped serving food so we had my birthday meal in the kebab shop. I would dearly love to know the reason why my reservation was ignored/ forgotten/cancelled.

Last night we had an absolutely fantastic meal! This is my favourite restaurant and I wanted to take our annual Dad's Christmas night out there, to show them how good it is, and it didn't disappoint. They were wonderfully accommodating of our group which was full of Christmas cheer (and a bit of boisterous enthusiasm - apologies for that!). The service was friendly, patient and efficient. The cooking, was, as I complimented to the very hardworking chef, 'off the scale". My Nduja infused pasta (orecchiette) was umami heaven, and the chicken with chestnuts and Marsala sauce was one of the best mains I've eaten for a long time. The combination of flavours was perfect. In fact, the 'hybrid' English Christmas/Italian specials menu was so tempting - I would have liked to try everything on there. Thank you for a special night and I will be back soon, as I suspect will a number of my friends.

Staying in Settle we had intended to eat at the Game Cock Inn but they are currently closed and we asked them where they would go to for a meal and they gave us one recommendation - La Tavernetta. It is tiny so booking recommended. I am GF but there were plenty of options which isn't always the case with Italian. The helpings are good and the service relaxed presumably due to everything being prepared once ordered. The wine list isn't huge but of good quality. We live a long way away but if we were passing or in the area again we would definitely eat here. Just over £35 per head inc wine.

Don't expext to get either authentic Italian dishes or food of a high standard. The menu is far from extensive or remotely Italian with only 1 pasta dish, homemade Spag Bol! We had pizzas, sadly they were undercooked, doughy, far too thick and not partuclarly tasty!A bottle of wine was over £20 and quite poor quality so did little to soften the blow of a dissapoiting meal. Greater range of price, quality and variety much needed. On a more postive note however, The waiter, a real charecter, had a great rapport with diners and the owner/chef is very enthusiastic and passionate, never before had I been asked if I wanted ice in my wine or beer!I am no Gordon Ramsey but the amount of dough on our pizzas would have made 6 not 2, the range of meals should include more Italian mainsays, many of which are simplicity to make and in particular, starters such as mozzarella, salami, breads and oils with balsamic or focaccia or an assortment of veggy antipasti. It certainly could, however, have a great deal more to offer, building upon the atmosphere especially, which is warm and inviting, in such a small place you literally sit shoulder to shoulder with your fellow diners and this adds to the warn cosy feel.If the current owners sample a few of the other local Italian eateries, even as far as Windermere or Bowness restaurants, as a form of comparison the lessons they could learn couyld transform thier little place into a gem! I hope that they do as we woukld be back on a regular basis, I wish them all the very best.I know thety have been instrumental in putting Ingelton on the map for WW2 events and are to be appauded for their community spirit and enterprise, we do wish them well in thier endeavours. We look forward to coming back to see if any changes have taken place!

During our time in Ingleton we were looking for somewhere different to eat, that would suit all members if our party, as one wont eat anything that is "foreign food". This restaurant suited us because they had something for all. It is small, and I would think family run, so if you are expecting Piccolinos then dont. Judge it for what it is. We had a very nice meal, with some lovely home made coleslaw, good service, some healthy banter and the bill was very reasonable. It was good food at a good price, with a variety to suit most tastes. That's good enough for me. Having travelled around various place over the past fortnight there is far worse out there!

Before heading to Ingleton, I did my research and readily identified La Tavernetta as one of the 'must eat there' places. Before popping in last night, I noticed the two very poor reviews added recently which didn't fit at all well with others.Having now eaten there, I must add I am deeply sceptical of those reviews. My wife had one of the specials, chicken and sausage risotto and I settled for a pizza (I forget the name, sorry). They were both gorgeous. Hot, fresh and tasty. The only quibble I would have with the pizza is that it was a little too heavy on the toppings for my taste but I know many people like a ' fully-loaded' pizza, I will concede this detracted marginally from the authenticity. The bottled beers were a tad pricy but where isn't this the case? Yes, the place is compact but what on earth is to be expected in this neck of the woods. If we were staying longer, there is absolutely no question we would return and try something else from their very tempting menu.I'd like to add that the staff were cheery, friendly and had the perfect level of attentiveness.

I recently visited la tavernetta after hearing that it was under new management. I was very optimistic but was incredibly disappointed. The first issue I had when I opened the box was my takeaway pizza wasn't sliced which makes it very hard to eat, but that was the least of my problems. My pizza was burnt at the edges yet soggy in the middle, the pepperoni and salami on top were honestly so over cooked that they were hard. The chicken was chewy and the whole pizza was greasy. After the box being open about 5 minutes the pizza was cold. I am not going there again and would persuade anyone considering it to avoid it. A waste of money for what I got.

We've been visiting Ingleton for several decades and finding somewhere to eat out was always a challenge. When La Tavernetta opened several years ago, it was a little gem of a place but the quality of the food did slide in the last couple of years. We started our holiday on the day that the restaurant re-opened under new management so we booked ourselves for the following Friday. It's a cosy, friendly place with a varied menu. The takeout side of the business was doing a roaring trade whilst we were there which was great to see. The pizzas were delicious and the blue cheese gnocchi was genuinely the nicest blue cheese sauce I've had, it was perfectly seasoned. I'm glad we can continue to give business to a local family run business. Ingleton has gone through some tricky patches over the years but a few more businesses with the same approach as La Tavernetta will see it through.

I'm torn.We enjoyed the food and everyone raves about this place but being a busy restaurant and takeaway and only having one waitress dealing with all this isn't an appropriate excuse for poor service. One more member of staff could have made all the difference. We were seated and it was around 35 minutes before our order was taken. In this time the adjacent table were complaining that they had ordered a bottle of wine but had received only a glass each and we noticed another table who had been seated give up and leave. It was starting to look/feel like a fiasco. We had garlic mushrooms and a pizza each, we were in there for just shy of 2 hours, and with 3 330ml bottles* of Peroni each the bill was over £40, which I didn't feel represented particularly good value for money. We agreed we'd probably have takeaway in future but not sit in.*These were served in half pint glasses, so wondered where the rest went!

We took half of my pizza which I couldn't finish though, simply too delicious to leave it behind. You should definitely try this place and see for yourself. Fairly reasonable price too.

Me and my boyfriend have recently moved to the area and wanted to try out the local restaurants. We have previously been spoiled by the abundance of great restaurants in Manchester so to be honest we weren't expecting much from a very small Italian in a village. Boy were we wrong to assume! I ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. My boyfriend ordered the 3 peaks pizza and also commented on how delicious it was. The value for money is brilliant! It is very small so I would recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment as you cannot book. We will most certainly be back to try out the rest of the menu.

Very small premises and tables can't be booked. However, if you can get in, the food is excellent. The Peroni went down well after completing the 3 Yorkshire Peaks. This is not a high class intimate place but the food and atmosphere have much to recommend it.

This has to be the smallest Italian restaurant we have eaten in, you can't reserve tables we were lucky and got the last table the food was really good, and the wine good too. A real must if you can get a table.

After seeing good reviews we decided to go here. We went in and saw there was just 1 table left out of maybe 5-6 in total. The waitress showed us to the table and flung the menus on the table and walked off. We began to view the menu and after waiting longer than I feel was acceptable to be offered a drink or any other sort of acknowledgement we decided to get up and leave. Shame as although the starters were limited to basically bread or salad the food could actually have been good. Shame about the service.

We have been having take away Pizzas from this restaurant for many years, and the Pizzas are always very good.

Excellent food at great prices, really nice small place, first come first served, can see the Italian chef busy making your meal, like the fact you can't book, you've just got to be lucky!

We were recommended to visit this little hole in the wall Italian restaurant in Ingletonby locals whilst staying in the Dales. You cannot book they work on a first come first seated basis but it is a very welcoming with a good atmosphere and good service. It is so small you can see your food being cooked in front of you, very authentic Italian with a relatively small menu, but the food was very good and would visit again when in the area.

If you go to Ingleton, you have to go here and order the 3 Peaks Pizza! It's a little like a calzone with three pockets of different filling. We were unsure at first, but didn't regret it!

We were tipped to this restaurant by locals. It is quite small, so we were fortunate to arrive just before evening opening, and were seated promptly. There was a line when we left. The menu is relatively small (a good thing, in my opinion) and the dishes were not just the "same old Italian." There is a creative chef at work here. Even the pizzas are different. Also, the server was very courteous and helpful. It was worth the few minutes wait in the rain.

Admittedly it was an out of season visit but it was a cold and unwelcoming atmosphere. The salad was far from Italian, I've had better Italian salads at home. The pizza was a soggy thick crust one and very English not Italian. I suppose they are cooking what's likely to sell in Ingleton, not the most cosmopolitan of places! If you are expecting authentic Italian, which is what they advertise, don't bother, go to Kendal to Paulo Gianni's.

Lovely authentic Italian! Don't let the window put you off, it opens at 6pm & only seats 14 so you need to be there when they open to get a table as do not take bookings. There was a good choice of Pizzas & pasta on the menu with a children's option of anything on menu just smaller portion & a side & a pudding for £7. As everyone arrived at same time the waitress served table by table & did not rush us even though people were waiting for a table. Open till 9.30. The pizza was amazing & as they do takeout will be returning later in the week! My little boy had a 4 cheese pasta & his words "the best cheesy pasta ever!!!!"

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Ingleton and found this little Italian restaurant and thought we'd give it a try. The window menu display looked somewhat bizarre and not in keeping but the service and food and welcome certainly dispelled any further concerns once we were inside. Very small inside but very busy and always a good sign. The young waitress was friendly and efficient and the food was freshly prepared in sight of our table. They also operate a takeaway pizza service which also kept the staff busy and is obviously very popular with the locals. The chef is the owner and obviously very accomplished in his craft. One to recommend and probably the best place to eat in Ingleton.

Went with wife and daughters after long days walking. Arrived at 545 to be third group in the queue- important as only 14 seats in the place. One waitress deals with all tables as well as taking take away orders and plate clearing but she coped very well. Regular take away orders going out the door so clearly popular with locals too. Kids menus very well priced with no drop in pizza authenticity nor ingredients . Kids ice cream came in a cow shaped holder which they loved and took away with them. My diavola pizza was excellent- fresh ingredients and hand pulled base. Great value for money and real treat to support an independent family business

Tiny restaurant which doesn't take bookings so arrive early! It doesn't look much inside or out but don't let that put you off. Many pizza/pasta places serve little more than microwave food. La Tavernetta is much more authentic. Best Spag Bol I have ever had!

Went here for my partners birthday. We both had a starter and a main. Wouldn't recommend either of the chicken dishes, quite simple and quite expensive for what you get. Wouldn't go again.

A very small family run restaurant, but with a lovely intimate atmosphere. Lovely freshly made italian dishes - so it's not fast food, but well worth the wait.
