The best restaurants in Ryburn Calderdale Yorkshire and The Humber

An excellent stop off as we cross the M62 in our motorhome. Ali and the staff made us feel very welcome at this motorhome stopover. The service was first class. A lot of work has clearly gone into reopening this magnificent old inn as an Indian restaurant. It is right up on the top of Pennines as you cross from Lancashire to Yorkshire, between Saddleworth and Rishworth Moor. The food was first class and quite unexpected in this very remote location.

Qué puedo decir, como siempre el servicio y la comida eran excelentes. Nada es demasiado, te sientes como en casa. Tuve Gambas Linguini y mi marido tenía el lento; perfecto. pecho El postre era para morirse, Assiette de chocolate, una chocoholic's dream.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea. Looked amazing, it was delicious particularly the carrot cake! Would highly recommend.

Very busy due to Christmas get togethers and people meeting up . The service was excellent and the choice was exceptional, from the Xmas menu , to the main and even included their notorious Retro Menu.

Lovely atmosphere as soon as we walked in. Food was delicious. Staff were friendly and smiley. Well worth a visit. We’ll be back.

Lovely café with good food and good service. Coffee, tea, milkshake and lunches including a toastie, prawn sandwich, and a tuna mayo jacket potato, followed by home baked cake. And all for less than £30. Nice relaxed atmosphere, friendly hosts. Lovely deli attached to it with a selection of cheeses, pies, cakes, etc.

Had Sunday lunch there....After waiting a while for it to arrive, when it did, it was lukewarm. The mash was actually cold in the centre. I told the waitress, to which she replied 'really?...Well, the plate is hot'. She promptly took it back to the kitchen ( fair enough) and after maybe 10 minutes, I was served a piping hot roast. I mean, it almost burned my mouth! Anyhow, it was a nice enough lunch, perhaps could have had a little more meat on the plate, and the sprouts were a bit dry, but it was fine apart from that.

Sites with the family, can’t fault the service all the staff were great,. The food however was average, no terrible just nothing special.

I should really go into detail about our experience in The Alma. However, I believe people will make their own judgment. Food was okay, could not fulfill my first order as they had run out of ingredients. Only brought back the specials menu to choose from. Had to think from memory what the other menu had on. Service was very slow. The waitress was very rude. Customer service was lacking in a lot of areas and I believe some retraining would do her the world of good. I genuinely hope our £20 tip did not go to her. It seemed extremely busy but 3 waitresses walked by in a group every time they passed our table.

A lovely pub/b&b, staff are very friendly, live music, very nice room and superb food, would recommend to anyone. Stayed here for a base to a local wedding, fit our needs perfectly.

Regrettably this place has gone right downhill. The young serving staff were all absolutely lovely but there were times when they needed some leadership/guidance. Despite the place being half empty (on a Saturday night!) there was some disorganisation. I had to send a pint back because it tasted of vinegar. This is very, very worrying because it means the beer lines are dirty and infected with bacteria that produces acetic acid (vinegar). Again this points to a lack of leadership. Is there no line-cleaning routine in place? Is no-one making sure it gets done? Is no-one tasting what comes out of the pumps before serving it to paying customers? The vegan offer used to be really good here but it has shrunk. There was a "plant-based burger" but it came as a soggy mess. Cheap patties made from spuds and peas, rather than a textured meat substitute. It tasted like a Linda McCartney burger. When I go out for a meal, I want two things. A nice pint and a good vegan offer. This place used to have both those things, but I'm sorry to say it now it has neither. I'm afraid we won't be back.

Love coming here when passing through. One of my faves places. You pay more. But worth every penny. Quality and quantity exceptional. My partner had the bacon muffin. Perfect. I had the crispy chicken. With bacon sweet chilli sauce mayo. Beautiful and ample. Chocolate and orange ganache buns scrummy. Staff also lovely.

Called in today with my partner and my daughters dog We got a warm welcome from Helen who gave the dog some treats We had a lovely sandwich and cake an very nice coffee Lovely place with lovely food and staff 5 star
