What a stunning pub in an idyllic spot by the river what a find! Took my fussy eating parents who said it was the best place they'd been in a long time! The staff very attentive the lunch was gorgeous and the chips best I've had in any pub! Dad enjoyed his bitter I enjoyed the wine we also took home millionaire shortbread thank you

We had a lovely family meal with good size portions. Quick service and very attentive Waitresses. Lovely friendly staff. Will certainly come back.

We visited The New Rushcart as part of a group of 48 people. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Thank you to John and Helen for catering and looking after us all and to barman Liam and all the staff for being polite and helpful. We Will definitely be back. X

Having dined here for lunch and thought about my experience, I thought I'd share my disappointment in the Alma Inn. We had the "Two for £20" lunch deal, and whilst it is a good deal based on the regular menu, the quality in some of the ingredients did not reflect the quality of the surroundings. The burger patty felt rather manufactured compared to the lovely toasted bun, fresh salad and cheese sauce that surrounded it. The margarita pizza had a lovely base, but the cheap cheese was a let down. The servings of pasta seemed small compared to the other dishes. I wouldn't go back based on the food alone.

I just wanted to write a review to say how wonderful our wedding was on 14h March 2025. I instantly fell in love with the fleece at the wedding open day I attended in July 2024. I just knew it was where we would feel comfortable to get married. When we booked our date Carrie-Anne was great with providing us all the information we needed, recommended times for the day and everything after that. We attended the wedding taster menu evening and this was a lovely experience itself and the food was delicious. The day was just amazing! From stepping out of the car and feeling extremely nervous all of a sudden the lovely staff calmed me right down. They were so friendly. I had loads of compliments from the wedding guests about how brilliant and attentive all the staff were throughout the day and night. Also how tasty the food was, several guests came upto us saying it was the best food they had eaten at a wedding before. I was a little worried about the weather with it being March. On the day there was sunshine and we were able to have photos outside and the child guests loved running about in the private courtyard. The evening reception flowed and again lots of compliments about the food. We booked the in house DJ and he was great. He accepted requests and got everyone up dancing. I truly didn’t want the day to end. We stayed over and also some of our guests in 6 of the rooms and in the morning we all had breakfast together. Thank you again to all the staff at The Fleece for making the day so stress free and magical. Mr and Mrs Briggs

I booked a room here to stay long term a new landlord had taken over and I paid nearly £2000 to stay here for a month. There was no breakfast which was supposed to be included, the pub was just getting up and running again, I had to leave early without a refund as the pub was raided. It was extremely unpleasant I wouldn't recommend staying here as I was conned. It's a shame the pub used to be fantastic 15 years ago.

What a lovely find this is! Beautiful building, absolutely lovely staff, and food was amazing - both dinner and breakfast. Great beers on tap too. We will be back 🥰
