The best restaurants in Ryburn Calderdale Yorkshire and The Humber

I just wanted to write a review to say how wonderful our wedding was on 14h March 2025. I instantly fell in love with the fleece at the wedding open day I attended in July 2024. I just knew it was where we would feel comfortable to get married. When we booked our date Carrie-Anne was great with providing us all the information we needed, recommended times for the day and everything after that. We attended the wedding taster menu evening and this was a lovely experience itself and the food was delicious. The day was just amazing! From stepping out of the car and feeling extremely nervous all of a sudden the lovely staff calmed me right down. They were so friendly. I had loads of compliments from the wedding guests about how brilliant and attentive all the staff were throughout the day and night. Also how tasty the food was, several guests came upto us saying it was the best food they had eaten at a wedding before. I was a little worried about the weather with it being March. On the day there was sunshine and we were able to have photos outside and the child guests loved running about in the private courtyard. The evening reception flowed and again lots of compliments about the food. We booked the in house DJ and he was great. He accepted requests and got everyone up dancing. I truly didn’t want the day to end. We stayed over and also some of our guests in 6 of the rooms and in the morning we all had breakfast together. We got married here on 20.04.2025 and wow, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Hannah and the team have been so kind and amazing from the lead up to the wedding with the 121 meetings, all the open days & the food tastings to the day itself. The day ran so smoothly & the venue itself has received so many compliments from many of our guests. The rooms have so much character. The main thing everyone did talk about though was the food. Everything was so yummy and they 100% feed you! Thanks to The Venue team for creating such a memorable day x

Regrettably this place has gone right downhill. The young serving staff were all absolutely lovely but there were times when they needed some leadership/guidance. Despite the place being half empty (on a Saturday night!) there was some disorganisation. I had to send a pint back because it tasted of vinegar. This is very, very worrying because it means the beer lines are dirty and infected with bacteria that produces acetic acid (vinegar). Again this points to a lack of leadership. Is there no line-cleaning routine in place? Is no-one making sure it gets done? Is no-one tasting what comes out of the pumps before serving it to paying customers? The vegan offer used to be really good here but it has shrunk. There was a "plant-based burger" but it came as a soggy mess. Cheap patties made from spuds and peas, rather than a textured meat substitute. It tasted like a Linda McCartney burger. When I go out for a meal, I want two things. A nice pint and a good vegan offer. This place used to have both those things, but I'm sorry to say it now it has neither. I'm afraid we won't be back.

So I read some good reviews of this place and figured we would give it ago Collected the food and at First yeah it was good but after a few bites you realise just how Salty the food is to the point where you just couldn't really eat any more Which is a shame because at first it was nice I probably wouldn't go back again unfortunately.

Love coming here when passing through. One of my faves places. You pay more. But worth every penny. Quality and quantity exceptional. My partner had the bacon muffin. Perfect. I had the crispy chicken. With bacon sweet chilli sauce mayo. Beautiful and ample. Chocolate and orange ganache buns scrummy. Staff also lovely.

What a great find when Huddersfield's restaurants appeared closed. Not too far from the motorway but use the main road rather than weave through the residential area of steep and bendy roads. Restaurant looks well furbished and we were surprised when they said they'd been open for 9 years. Great interior! Food was excellent and this will definitely be our choice for future meals out (or in!). Thanks to all the staff at Cinnamin at the Mill. Will check out your evening entertainment next time we're in the area.

What a lovely find this is! Beautiful building, absolutely lovely staff, and food was amazing - both dinner and breakfast. Great beers on tap too. We will be back 🥰
