Cinnamon at the Mill in Calderdale

What a great find when Huddersfield's restaurants appeared closed. Not too far from the motorway but use the main road rather than weave through the residential area of steep and bendy roads. Restaurant looks well furbished and we were surprised when they said they'd been open for 9 years. Great interior! Food was excellent and this will definitely be our choice for future meals out (or in!). Thanks to all the staff at Cinnamin at the Mill. Will check out your evening entertainment next time we're in the area.

We visit Cinnamon a few times a year and get take outs also. The food has always been good - much better than many other Indian restaurants we've visited and the staff are polite and friendly.

I ordered a vindaloo curry off of just eat, obviously expect it to be spicy. However, this was absolutely unedible after one by complete waste of money.

I found the pricing to be reasonable, considering the quality and presentation of the dishes. All in all, it was a delightful culinary adventure that left me thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. This establishment is definitely worth a visit for anyone seeking a delightful dining experience.

My partner and I went to Cinnamin for a post Christmas Indian, and it was fantastic! We both had a pickle tray and shared a mixed starter. We both had lamb curries and the lamb just fell off the fork it was that tender. We will be back when visiting the area!

Do NOT come here. Paid for Xmas dinner which was not fit for my dog. Clearly Pakistanis trying to be an Indian restaurant then trying to cash in on a microwave turkey dinner. DISGUSTING😡

We ordered poppadum with chutney and pickle tray to begin as well as lime pickle - very nice. We had as starters onion bhaji and spiced kebab. The main entree was Tandoori mixed grill - chicken tikka, lamb tikka, tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, and tandoori lamb chop. The tandoori chicken was different than that of the US, but I liked it better. We also had side dishes of fried rice and naan. All in all, the food was very good. If back in the area, I'd go again.

Visited for a friend’s 50th birthday get together. Poppadoms were very stale and chewy. One of our starters was missing and when it was brought to serving staff attention took a further 20 minutes to arrive and wasn’t at all what was ordered. Again brought to attention of waiting staff but they just shrugged and walked away Main course- cinnamon special balti was luke warm and had 4 pieces of chicken in, all the rest was huge pieces of onion that were inedible. Bill was well over £200 Definitely would not return. Save your money and go somewhere much better.

Whilst the service was adequate at best the food was bland and, worst of all, served lukewarm to cold. The main course was served in what could best be described as a cold soup dish.......... that had never seen heat. The food in it was subsequently bordering on cold. Unlike other restaurants it clearly does not use heated serving dishes. First and last visit - back to the Syhiba where at least you can burn your fingers with a touch!

1st takeaway from this place and will be the last I’m afraid , I wish I had read these reviews on here first before ordering a cold tasteless and expensive chicken tikka masala & chicken bhuna- Very disappointed , please read reviews before ordering. Since when do you have carrots in a tikka masala ? Poor poor poor

Myself and my wife went for an evening meal - the staff were polite and friendly, service was prompt and the food was very good and reasonably priced. The starters and mains were light and appetising - not like many similar restaurants who make the sauces too rich and overpowering. Recommended.

We ate here over the bank holiday weekend and were fortunate to get a table since I hadn’t booked. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was lovely and very tasty. Will definitely be returning soon.

Me and my partner tonight ordered a takeaway delivery and we order regularly, recently it’s not been the same but we didn’t think anything much of it as the food is always amazing Tonight bearing in mind we only live a few minutes up the road we order for delivery as usual and the rice, curry and naan bread all came clap cold, very poor service to say we waited over an hour for delivery and it’s a few minutes away in the car, my assumption is the company are cooking it way too early and waiting for a driver to deliver and leaving it to go cold, we won’t be spending our money here anymore and finding a new curry spot to eat with, it’s always been a Saturday night treat every few weeks, but it seems that the quality and the staffs want to make sure food goes our warm and fresh is out of the window

Cinnamon is a gorgeous restaurant, really modern and lovely decor. In December, the friendly staff at Cinnamon welcomed 14 of us for my Dad's 60th birthday. They were fab and welcomed me to decorate the table and to put a cake to one side prior. Upon arriving I was a bit disappointed in the choice of table as it looked like there would be 6 people to a table for 4, so I queried this and staff immediately accommodated us and moved us to a different table. Throughout the evening, staff were attentive and kept up with our never ending drinks orders! The food arrived in good time and was lovely. Big thanks in particular to the two younger lads at the bar who I had a laugh with while lighting the candles on my Dad's cake. They convinced me to let him have some music and chose 'It's my birthday' by Will.I.Am (I don't think Dad got the reference but nevermind!!), and also poured Dad a complimentary flaming sambuca - much to his delight...!!! Fantasitc food and very good service. Came to Cinnamon at the Mill for my anniversary meal with my partner. Right from the get go it was total shambles.

I visited here a couple of days ago as part of a large party. After we suggested ordering by table (as we were spread over multiple tables) the staff said the food would not come out all together so we were guided by them. Starters were delivered and the service wasn’t bad - however the portion sizes were small and the chicken chaat certainly didn’t taste of much more than grease. Following the disappointing starters my husbands lukewarm and small portioned main course arrived as one of the first mains to be delivered. The problem with that was that his bread was one of the last things to be delivered. So he ate his main course before it got even cooler - and then used his bread to dip into the sauce from my main course (which was also a tiny portion, lukewarm and one of the last to be delivered). My naan bread was delivered - and I was told it was the peshwari naan (which is what I ordered). However it wasn’t, it was garlic - and I was so hungry I just ate it. We should have stuck to our original plan of orders per table as this would have at least meant that that people on that table got their food in a reasonable time. The place itself is lovely and looked really clean - but for what we had I would definitely say it’s overpriced, the portions were very small and the service disappointing. I won’t be back.

Had a lovely pub crawl around West Vale (West Vegas as it is now), sampling a mix of craft beers at various new and old pubs. Then popped in here all six of us feeling hungry. Really fancy venue, tastefully done-out, so hopes high.But decidedly lacklustre food and indifferent service dashed those hopes quickly. The naan was good, but the rest just bland, greasy and tasteless. Well, not quite tasteless - both curries tasted of tomato. Nothing else at all. I don't know if some restaurants hold back on the spices in case they upset conservative palates, but if so they've gone too far! A curry the menu says has garlic chilli and ginger in it should taste of them, shouldn't it?FInal straw was the bottle of 'Flash' cleaner left on one of the tables - it was really like they couldn't be bothered and just wanted to clean up. I was feeling all festive and gave one of the waitresses a very large tip when we arrived just because she moved a table to seat us. Wish I hadn't bothered - it was the end of her shift anyway and never saw her again! That'll teach me. Anyway, we won't be back.

Very slow service. Food was Luke warm. Took 1 hour 40 minutes for us to get our mains. A member of staff came and took our pickle tray and put it on another table. We could have touched it. Luckily we didn't!Onion bhajis were greasy and the vegetable balti had hardly any ingredients in.Vegetarian option was lackluster. Well... Non existent, they just replaced the meat with potatoes...Didn't come round for drinks. Went to the bar and then ignored for a significant amount of time. Don't like leaving negative reviews but unfortunately honesty is key for improvement.

Went with the family for an evening meal. The food was well presented good temperature and delivered in good time. All the food was very tasty and nothing was left. The only complaint was the drinks £7.50 for a glass of prosecco Are We In London??If the drink prices come down we will be back.

Last minute decision to go out for tea, so glad we stayed local rather travel to Sowerby Bridge. Staff were really attentive, great atmosphere and super food. Felt unrushed throughout the meal and every dish was spot on.

It’s rather special to have an 80th birthday party, it’s even more so when the birthday ‘boys’(?) are twins!So it’s important for the Birthday Bash to be somewhere you can trust, especially when the whole family are coming together.The team at the Cinnamon at the Mill treated the whole party absolutely perfectly! Evening anniversary meal , nice decor , pretty quiet with not much vibe , staff ok , food not bad and quite tasty . I thought that £7.50For a small 200ml bottle of prosecco and £7.80 for a large glass of house Cab Sav were pretty high end for an Indian in Halifax. I was pretty Disappointed with these high drink prices and when I pointed this out to the waiter who asked if everything was ok when he brought the bill, it was evident his Demeanour changed , to quite negative . Would we go back ? The jury is out .....

A group of 10 of us were out on Thursday and I popped in to book a table for 10 at 9:30. They were very reluctant as they wanted to close at 11:00 but allowed us in provided we left on time. The seekh kebab starter was tiny and poor and we had to ask for rahita to complement it. Main course was tasty but not much chicken in it. It always seems more expensive than other Indian restaurants and they need to be much better to justify this.

Visited after the place was recommended, and we weren't disappointed.

Me and my partner came for a drink and takeaway this evening, we come regular and exactly a week ago today in which we had a bad experience for the first time, we thought this may be a one off and went again this evening and the same thing again!

Good menu with seafood (scalloops, sea bass, salmon) and vegetarian starters and mains alongside chicken and meat. We had prawn puri and crispy bhagis followed by prawn bhuna and a chunky cod curry. Service is quick and friendly. Nice decor..

I have visited here a couple of times now and have been wowed on both occasions, the atmosphere, the décor and the staff are all lovely and the food is delicious. I really would recommend this gem in Halifax and I am looking forward to returning very soon! Enjoy!

Our first visit to this restaurant, a group of four of us came here for my boyfriend's birthday. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had starters and mains, portion sizes were quite big. I was able to take my leftovers home for lunch the next day. We were glad we had booked a table as it was a Saturday night and was full. Would visit again.

We visited again at the end of March for Mother’s Day. We were really impressed again by our experience. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The food that we order was high quality and full of flavour. The staff made every effort to do everything they could for us. I would really recommend here if you get chance to go!

We've been to the sister restaurant (Cinnamin Lounge) in Rishworth many times, and love it there. First time we've been here. Food is just as good and atmosphere really nice.

Huge choice on the menu with friendly waiters whom are more than happy to help with choices from their extended specials menu. Bangla beer sold which is always a plus in my eyes!

My wife and I went here instead of Cinnamon in Ripponden as this one is nearer to where we live. We wished we had travelled the extra 15 minutes because there they go the extra mile. The Elland branch is well turned out and the staff very pleasant and give good service. Although the starters were both good the mains let it down. I had a Cinnamon special balti and the sauce didn’t taste like it was freshly made and was rather like something out of a jar. If you removed all the onion and peppers there would have only been about 6 or 7 small pieces of chicken. My wife’s Dushanbe prawn balti was also not as nice. All rather average, sadly. It was our second visit, the first being 2-3 years ago, and we weren’t impressed then so will stick to Ripponden in future which is much superior.

We booked a table for a family meal, we have been here on a number of occasions and always the food and service has been amazing, who ever we have taken have said the same. Portions are spot on, if you want a curry that blows your head off then nip into one of the dives in Halifax after a gallon of beer, this is a restaurant. Brilliant and highly recommended.

Having been regular visitors to the sister restaurant, we were hopeful of the same high quality food and service in West Vale. Sadly that wasn't to be. On our first visit, I had tried to book online, but ended up having to ring them as they as they didn't confirm my booking. When we arrived with our friends, we were given a nice table where we able to chat happily over our meal. The meal was excellent except for the fact that one of us had to wait so long for their chapatis their curry was going cold. We assumed the service had had a blip and returned within 2 weeks for a friend's birthday treat. Unfortunately the service was dreadful this time. It took ages for anyone to take our order, then we waited a long time before our starters arrived. We then waited, and waited for our mains. In the end we had to ask where our meals had got to. It wouldn't have been so bad if they had been really busy, but staff were seen standing around chatting and there were only a few tables taken. As we had recommend the restaurant to our friends, it was embarrassing to be let down. We also found the lighting so low it was difficult to see our meals properly. All of which are surprising as the reviews from others were good and we always enjoy their other establishment.

I've enjoyed loads of curries all over Halifax but this has to be the best. The place is beautiful clean and has a really warm feel. The staff are so polite and attentive. The choice is great and fantastic quality.

There were 20 people in our party and we were welcomed very warmly. The staff are extremely attentive and the food was amazing. Everyone is welcome, so please do visit if you are in the area. I would recommend booking at the weekends, but not always necessary :)

We decided to try this restaurant as the pictures of the place looked nice, which the place itself is but the food is the worst we have ever had. The onion bhajis were small and very greasy and the shami kebabs weren't even cooked properly. My husband ordered chicken masala which was more like a tin of tomato soup with 6 pieces of chicken in it. I ordered the lamb Balti of which the sauce was disgusting, I couldn't even eat it, it was nothing like a Balti at all. This has got to be the worst curry's we have ever eaten and we've been eating them for many years. We definitely wont be going back, its that bad we wouldn't even eat free here.

Being a bank holiday i decided to treat myself to a takeaway from the Cinnamon at the mill,i ordered chicken tikka masala as i have had this many times,once i arrived home i opened said dish,the first thing i noticed was the bright red colour however this didnt deter me so i dished it up to find it was basicaly a tomato sauce with what i can only discribe as stale tasting chicken and nothing like the masala i have eaten previously,so i rang the resturant to enquire what it was they had given me,to be met by a waiter whom showed zero concern,i shall not visit the resturant again and said meal has been placed in the dustbin very dissapointed not only in the food but the total lack of concern from the resturant

as it was my birthday on 9th may, my 76yo disabled mother took me to the cinnamon at the mill for my birthday treat, this restaurant is well worth a visit for a good meal and the atmosphere is very relaxing and you can hear yourself think haha. i had the mixed special biryani with perothas, mum had the prawn biryani, and the caramel crumble coated cheesecake with ice cream in the middle is delicious mmm. this place deserves tripadvisor excellence award

Went for a curry with the family. Thought we would try the Cinnamon as a change from our usual restaurant.

Quite impressed with the decor. Good service although it was a Monday evening & the restaurant was quiet. The food was the usual bog standard Indian, probably Pakistani, nothing special.

We don't go enough but when we do we always really enjoy our food here. Meat is cooked perfectly and the specials are delicious. I fully recommend the Shashlik. Prices are good, service is great!

Popped out to the nearest place we were for a meal and wasn’t disappointed. Some of the reviews we read Seem strange after our visit. The setting is great. If we had a complaint it would be little too dark to read the menu! Had to put my phone light on! Food was superb with a great selection of menu dishes never seen before. All cooked great and service guys were superb. Tbh couldn’t fault it with decent normal prices. Would visit again and that’s the big decider for me. Great place

This is a terrible place to eat, I’ve had food poisoning here on 2 occasions, The manager is rude and not able to deal with complaints, Never Never again shall I go there again. Be Warned,

Food ok waiter served wrong food to wrong person. Average prices the food we did get was nice. Nice decorated but the lighting is dim so you have trouble reading the brown menus. Very quite for a Friday night. Was delivered fruit and wipes to clean with before our meal even arrived!

We were going to head off to Manchester but couldn't be bothered to drive so thought we'd take a risk on this place. So glad we did, been several times since. Lovely decor and comfy seats. Staff are friendly and efficient. The poppodums and pickle tray are fabulous, very tasty. Starter sizes are large so i've stopped ordering these, but veggie samosas and bhajis really delicious. I've had a variety of veggie curries and all have been brilliant. Looking forward to our next visit.

4 of us visited for the first time. Nice building and nice interior though dark inside. Very young and inexperienced waiters with no clue about customer service. My food , tandoori butter chicken , was bland and tasteless and swimming in oil. As a result of my complaint they knocked £2 off the bill. Couldn’t be bothered to stay to justify reduction

Excellent quality take away, a short wait time - the bhuna tasted delicious, we had pilau rice and keema naan as side and they were just as tasty. Great to know we have such a good restaurant locally.

Visitamos un jueves, temprano en la noche - fue tranquilo y como un grupo más grande de 10 nos sentaron enseguida y pedimos bebidas en 5 minutos.

Pensamos que le daría una oportunidad a este sitio hace unos meses habíamos transfirieron a ir cuando nos apetecía un Syhiba curry. Desde entonces hemos visitado el molino varias veces y también he disfrutado de una comida para llevar.

Orden regularmente nos curries de nuestra comida para llevar local, pero este fue el mejor curry que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo.

this was the first time we had been, it was my 55th birthday, both me and my 75yo disabled booked here for my birthday meal, we was pleasantly surprised at the interior the had kept the old mill workings in with the décor, the only downside was the chairs were a bit low for us disabled people. the waiters were very friendly from the welcoming to taking us to our table, we was waited on with very friendly and pleasant staff, and the meals were very delicious, the mixed platter for 2 was well worth it, but everything was fantastic. highly recommended.

En ambas ocasiones hemos tenido al menos "bueno" platos junto con al menos una que ha sido excelente. Parece que tienen toques de sabroso en el menú de opciones de la casa de curry normal que apreciamos mucho. El menú es más temprano, pero la comida aún restringida muy bueno. Poppadoms (nos extra gratis) y luego empezar fueron rápidamente entregados pero había una espera para los platos principales. Sin embargo, la espera fue apreciado realmente porque después de los aperitivos que necesitábamos un pequeño descanso.

Plato principal pollo Jalfrezi - peor esfuerzo que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Rara vez poner informes negativas aquí porque sé que puede ser dañino, pero este lugar necesita seriamente en sí! El personal necesita capacitación en atención al cliente y más importante que necesitas para conseguir un buen chef! !

Visitamos una celebración familiar y esperaba una buena comida. Tal vez mi marido y yo nos equivocamos. Yo tenía pollo Rogan Josh, pero desafortunadamente era muy soso y acuoso sin profundidad. Sabía más como un estofado de pollo y tomate de un curry. El balti pollo era un poco sosa, pero el mismo picante. El servicio era s un poco inconsistente, pero para ser sincero, estaba muy ocupado. Hemos estado aquí en varias ocasiones, pero creo que no voy de nuevo.

Habíamos reservado una mesa para 6. 30:00 un viernes por la noche y el restaurante estaba muy concurrido, aunque el pedido inicial bebidas fue tomada rápidamente y pedimos nuestra comida poco después. Nuestras entradas llegaron rápidamente, pero luego nos quedamos a esperar casi una hora para nuestra principal que parecía un largo tiempo, especialmente para la persona que no habíamos pedido un entrante! Aunque había un par de grandes grupos en el restaurante. El único otro punto decepcionante fue el servicio, tuvimos que wave un camarero a nuestra mesa en la esquina cada vez que queríamos otra bebida y nos fuimos al bar para solicitar la factura después de haber comido, así que, aunque la comida estaba bien, el servicio en este lugar en este particular la noche del viernes, lo cual fue una pena.

El personal es atento, la comida excelente, el buen ambiente.

A su llegada son recibidos por un impresionante entorno de mill paredes desnudas de piedra y decorada con buen gusto y se siente muy acogedor. El atento personal está allí para conocer y saludar a la llegada a salir. El menú es bueno con un montón de opciones para todos los gustos y lo mismo con las bebidas. . . Y mi favorito en proyecto. corbra La comida era muy buena y bien presentada en los platos. No es tan caro para la experiencia global de la visita. Muy recomendado y se aconseja la reserva.

El personal era encontrarse con trabajos como entramos, pero nos hicieron sentir más que bienvenido vivimos cerca de un montón de restaurantes asiáticos, pero este era el mejor de la comida fue muy buena, el servicio excelente y la decoración impresionante nos volveremos allí.

Esta fue también una celebración familiar y nos encantó la comida, el servicio y la decoración (pétalos de rosas y globos rojos y blancos), pero los precios eran diarias y no subimos por la calle. El día de San Valentín. Mi pescado bacalao, con jengibre y mostaza fue simplemente deliciosa.

Hemos estado viniendo aquí desde que se abrió. También utilizamos la comida para llevar con bastante regularidad. Después de un par de problemas que realmente está empezando a convertirse en un gran restaurante.

Bien, esta en mi segunda visita a la canela y no me impresionó.

Fuimos la semana pasada por primera vez y no puedo esperar a volver. Nos recibieron en la puerta por un chico muy amable y con menús y nuestras bebidas pedir inmediatamente. El personal era muy agradable y servicial y la comida era deliciosa. Es el primer lugar donde he estado hemos tenido que pagar por poppadoms, siempre hemos tenido las dieron gratis junto con los pepinillos. El lugar en sí es precioso por dentro, muy cálido y acogedor. Tuvimos una gran noche y sin duda volveremos pronto.

How Cinnamon at the Mill is not number 1 is beyond me !! I'm in Halifax on Business for several months and this was my first visit !! Rest assured it won't be my last !!!!

Como local de west vale decidí visitar este lugar necesitaba una y no me decepcionó. Toda la comida estaba caliente y recién hecha, ya ordenados. Los camareros fueron muy atentos y el ambiente era bueno. La ficha bebidas fastidiase un poco pero resuelto, el personal del bar codificación cosas a la mesa equivocada, nada importante. Hay curries mejor si va más lejos, pero para decir Bradford west tranquila vale es un lugar decente.

Great five course meal in a lovely restaurant in a lovely spot. Easy parking. Almost full choice from the menu only duck and prawns extra.

Decided to try this place after recommendations from friends, place is easy to find with good parking, set in a lovely mill, I was really impressed with the decor.

Todos estamos de acuerdo en que la comida era buena relación calidad-precio en £11 95 por bandeja pickle head, entrantes, plato principal, artículos diversos, té o café, podría decir que puede ser sólo 4 campos, pero hay un montón de opciones. Los camareros eran muy atentos no nos sentimos presionados una buena disfrutadas por todos.

Visited the restaurant a few weeks ago & found the food good a good Punjabi taste but poor service. Went last night the food was completely different. Very sweet main course, cold starter & very very poor service

Bonito restaurante pero el servicio sigue siendo el mismo que cuando se abrió. Música, servicio lento. No puedes hablar sin tener que gritar al otro lado de la mesa en cada uno. Esperamos alrededor de 50 minutos para 4 platos principales, mientras que otras mesas vinieron y la izquierda en ese momento. También tuvimos que pedir a la orden como nadie venía a ver, pero son ganas de preguntar sobre bebidas cada 2 minutos. El precio de los platos no se reflejan en la comida. Platos con carne promedio ni autenticidad. No iremos de nuevo.
