The venue in Calderdale

Never been here before until Monday and went to a wedding and they do a nice job as well, I can’t say it’s wheelchair accessible as I didnt see a lift or anything but only stairs as the wedding was upstairs. Nice place though

Beautiful place for a wedding venue but it was quite cold inside the building, having been there from 12pm till 6.30pm didn't seam to be any heating, on otherwise a beautiful venue,

This is a fantastic venue. It is worth considering this no matter what the occasion. Put it on your list of " maybes".

My sister and I went to a wedding here. The venue was lovely and we had a brilliant time. The rooms were very clean and tidy and I had a good night's sleep. The only thing we were disappointed in was we thought it was a sit down breakfast. You have to get what you want then carry it back to the hotel room. It would be handy if there were trays to carry your food on. Just a thought.

Where to start, as soon as we stepped foot in The Venue to look around we knew it was the place for us. All throughout the planning process the staff were helpful, answered all our queries and were more than accommodating to our requests. Our day could not have gone any better and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. The venue was stunning, everything ran on time without any hitches and our guests said the food was some of the best wedding food they have had. The DJ who came with the venue played our specified genres and let us have a ‘power hour’ of requested songs from the guests. Couldn’t recommend the venue enough and if we could do it all over again we would. Our dog attended from some photos during the day which is another plus if you’re wanting your pets there on your special day. Special mention to our coordinator Lydia who couldn’t have been more helpful during the planning process and throughout the day. We cannot wait to come back for some ‘dine in’ events in the future and the day and the venue will also stay very close to our hearts. Thank you all for making our day so special.

Went to a wedding celebration with a great atmosphere in a historical building. The staff were polite and very friendly. The Outside area was picturesque with a decked area next to the river and a little footbridge to access it.

Absolutely fantastic location, price, management team and food! My husband and I got married here in May and we could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue. From the very beginning of our wedding journey we were blown away with the location and rustic feel to the building. We were prepared for a unrealistic quote for what we wanted on our day. This was absolutely not the case. If anything we were surprised at everything that was included in the package, with comparison to the copious wedding venues we had visited, where everything was an add on at a extra expense. We met various members of the team during the build up to the day and all staff were so passionate and invested in our day. Lucy who coordinated our day was amazing. A women definitely born for the job. The day from start to finish was stress free. So many of our wedding guests commented on how well organised the day was and how nicely it flowed from one part to the other. Lucy had thought of everything and was always one step ahead. The food was so delicious. My brother is a head chef in Wales and was so impressed with the food! We cannot thank The Venue enough for providing the best possible experience for our special day. We would highly recommend it to any future couple.

Had a lovely wedding day for our Nephew and his new wife. It is great place and everything seemed to go so well from start to finish. Brilliant.

The Venue Bowers Mill was the only wedding venue we actually went to see and we knew straight away that it was the right one for us and looking back we couldn't have made a better choice! All of our guests loved the space and we had so many compliments on both the staff and the food! The team made sure that our day was perfect, even managing to make a last minute change to the timings to accommodate a surprise singing waiter. If you get Lucy as your coordinator you have struck gold! She couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful, nothing was too much trouble and she helped to take all of the stress away from planning right through to the day itself.

The Venue was amazing from the start when we booked, throughout the wedding planning process & on the day itself. Our wedding coordinator Lucy was fab, Lucy & her team contributed to our special day. Communication was always exceptional & the food on the day was lovely. Would highly recommend The Venue!

We had our wedding at the venue recently and it was just the BEST day! Everything about the venue was amazing, the staff in particular were so helpful and friendly, and our guests keep going on about how good the food was! We had our wedding here at the end of June this year and we honestly couldn’t praise the venue or the staff enough. In the run up to the wedding they were so helpful, great at responding and answering every question we had (sometimes twice). They had some great vendor suggestions and things like outlines of timings for the day which made the Wedding so much easier to plan. The team were so friendly and when we wanted to change something about the package they were more than happy to accommodate. We had so many compliments on the Venue saying how beautiful it was. People raved about the food and even noted how good the none alcoholic drink selection was for those that drive. And the DJ that came in our package was absolutely brilliant – kept people on the dance floor all night long. The staff went above and beyond to make us and our guests happy and were always there with a smile and good humour adding more joy to the day. They checked in on us and made sure we knew what was going on and were happy with everything and they made sure we had food set aside as we were often so busy with guests we kept missing it. We couldn’t have picked a better place to get married. It was such a perfect day and I couldn’t fault a thing. If you are thinking about getting married here book a viewing – we couldn’t recommend it enough.

The wedding breakfast was absolutely fabulous, and throughout the day the service was top class. The Venue certainly has our recommendations and we will pass on to family and friends. I am a wedding celebrant and often do weddings here, it’s a great venue with a private chapel space and a 3 reveal room! I wouldn’t hesitate to book here the team are fantastic and well organised. X

One of my favourite wedding venues, it is just stunning. The accommodation on site is beautiful, spacious and luxurious. It is drenched in light so it is a perfect space to get wedding parties ready.

We got married 24/05/24 at The Venue. All I can say to Lydia and the team is, thank you! From start to finish our day was the most magical & memorable experience. They are such a credit to the wedding industry! As soon as we walked in to the venue we knew this is where we would start our happily ever after. From the quality of the food (compliments to the chef’s) to the seamless running of the day, nothing was ever a hassle or fuss! It is truly a 5 star venue. We recently got married here and we couldn't have had a better day. The staff were brilliant throughout the whole journey and in particular on the day. The venue looked amazing, the food was incredible and all our guests were just as pleased as we were. I recently visited the venue for my son and new daughter in laws wedding on may 29th 2024. The venue is stunning and in beautiful countryside. It was very clean and very welcoming. The staff were amazing especially one young lady(sorry I don’t know her name). She was very attentive to my mum and dad who are in their 80’s. Mum also has Alzheimer’s. She took us around an easier route into the different rooms and also took us up and down in the lift. I cannot thank her enough. I’m sure she will remember us. 😂 The food was amazing and to be honest I couldn’t speak any higher about the place , staff and food. Thank you for an amazing memorable day xxx

We had our wedding at The Venue in early April this year. It was the first venue we viewed and we immediately fell in love with the rustic/industrial aesthetic. From the beginning we felt relaxed in the knowledge that the amazing team had everything at hand. We went with the Bower’s package and I think those extra meetings were needed. The communication with the team has always been excellent and they’re always on hand when you have questions via email or phone call. On the big day we had Chloe as our organiser and she was brilliant! We found out later that this was her first wedding but you wouldn’t be able to tell. She was on hand for any questions and assistance (I was very grateful for the help she gave to my grandparents using the lift so I didn’t have to stress) and would check in throughout the day to confirm details and timings. The whole team were excellent and so friendly. The attention to detail was incredible as at one point I’d gone to the bathroom and when I returned my pudding was waiting for me but I was offered another portion if I found it was cold - something I didn’t expect at all. I couldn’t recommend The Venue more as our wedding was a stress-free breeze, we felt relaxed throughout and enjoyed our day throughly! Thank you to all the team (especially Chloe) for all your hard work, you made our Wedding Day unforgettable.

I would definitely recommend The Venue Bowers Mill. We had the best day ever and it really is beautiful, the photos don’t do it justice. The whole team there is so friendly and has the best customer service. Throughout our entire planning process, how friendly staff have been has always been consistent and all of our guests have commented on how lovely everything about The Venue Bowers Mill is. Lydia coordinated our wedding and is excellent at her job. She is committed to making the day the best it can be and making sure everything goes accordingly. Everything was coordinated perfectly and even things that weren’t on the plan she handled so well. We can’t speak highly enough of The Venue Bowers Mill, it was better than what we could have wished for.

Me and my husband got married in early March and it was the most amazing day, we wanted a relaxed wedding and Lucy certainly made sure we were very relaxed and that the day ran smoothly, thank you! The venue is just perfect, the ceremony room gave us goosebumps the very first time we viewed it and we knew it was for us. The DJ and catering included in the package is fantastic, so there are two major vendors you don’t need to worry about organising when doing all the wedding planning! we had a lovely day and it showed by our smiles on our faces throughout the photos xx

Wow! We had our wedding at The Venue and it was such an amazing day! Everything ran smoothly, never had to worry about anything apart from enjoying our day. Everyone commented on what a gorgeous venue it was and how lovely all the staff were. Lydia was our co ordinator and she was amazing! Everything from going to view, booking, all our meetings to the actual day was so easy and stress free. If we ever had any queries as we were planning things and we emailed the venue, no matter how small or silly the question we always got a reply ASAP! All the staff were so lovely. Absolutely stunning venue with terrific staff. Best day ever.

Lydia is an absolute star and credit to The Venue's staff team. From the moment we first visited we knew this was the perfect place for our wedding. Lydia was amazing in the build up to our wedding and also during the day running around with a clip board and ensuring everyone was where they were supposed to be. Everyone commented how wonderful The Venue, the staff and the food was. We literally had the most amazing day and can't thank you enough for ensuring our day was amazing from letting our dog be part of the ceremony and allowing us all the extras with our mini golf and beer pong tables. We had the most amazing wedding day thanks to the fantastic staff at the venue- the whole planning process was a joy and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Loads of our guests said that it was the best wedding food they’d ever had! We can’t thank them enough, would definitely recommend!

We got married late December 2023 at The Venue and it was absolutely perfect! The staff were all really lovely and friendly, everyone we spoke to or dealt with made us feel special and they all seemed genuinely excited for us! They did an incredible job on the organisational side, too. We had regular contact in the lead up to our wedding day and every single detail was checked with us to make sure we were happy, even down to finer details like making sure they had our favourite whisky available behind the bar. The day itself went so smoothly and exactly as expected/ better than we could have hoped. The Venue itself was perfect for us, too; particularly given it was mid-winter and chucking it down outside, it was so lovely and cosy inside, just a perfect atmosphere! Lovely Xmas meal and entertainment

This is our yearly trip to eat here when they do the wonderful Dine @The Venue. It’s like a pop-up Michelin restaurant on our doorstep. Food is simply out of this world, great menu choices and value for money. The staff are always smart and attentive without interfering and it’s a lovely atmosphere. Please keep doing these as we love it and it’s kind of a best kept secret!

What a delightful experience! For a few years now we have resisted revealing our secret favourite place to all, but it would be an injustice tonight to not share this jewel in the valley with others .we have just had the most delicious Dine in @ The Venue, Barkisland. Trust me, I am fussy when it comes to food standards but could not fault the chosen courses we had tonight; perfect belly pork, braised beef, polished off with homemade cheesecake and an exceptional house red. Credit to the lovely staff, so courteous, discreet, smiling and professional; thank you so much to all the team, we had a perfect evening. 🥂💫 Xxxx

Staff Christmas party now I know it's hard over the festival period. But if you can't keep up with the covers then you should should scale down. Service was at 730 didn't get starters till 815pm then waited over an hour for main course and same again for desert. There wasn't enough staff to server and there were 3 people behind the bar servings drinks all round poor service toilets clearly not checked regularly ether has most were out of toilet paper all in all I won't be coming back hear again

My husband and I recently got married at the Venue and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. During the whole process, the team was fab. They were always super responsive and helpful with any concerns and queries we had. The day itself went so incredibly smoothly and it was just how we wanted it. There were not hiccups and we had so many compliments about how good the food and staff were. They were also super relaxed and helpful on the day - a big thanks to Lydia who so fab leading up to and on the day. It was so relaxed and fun and Lydia kept us to schedule and made sure the day went how it was planned. The Venue looked so beautiful on the day and we didn’t have to worry about anything, the staff handled everything. Also - the reveal for the wedding breakfast was very dramatic. The curtains in the space worked really well and keeps everyone together during the day. I have no bad words to say about it!

Attended a charity fashion show, the venue was perfect! Parking is an issue for a busy event but otherwise perfect

This place was amazing for my friends wedding at the start of November. Lucy was great at keeping the running of the day smoothly & the whole layout & split sections of the room between Food & evening were amazing. The food was fabulous and perfect portions. It was a shame it rained a few times, but this didn't stop us venturing onto the verander for photos and evening air by the stream.

We do not think there are the words to describe how amazing this venue is!! We visited this venue on a whim and fell in love instantly with it's relaxed vibe and beautiful surroundings. The food was amazing, so much so we visited many times on the run up to our big day. We think the true value of this venue however, is there amazing staff. Rebecca was our coordinator but even if she was not there, there was always someone there to answer our emails or pick up the phone. Rebecca went above and beyond for not only us but our guests, really going that extra mile to make sure everyone was having the best time. I could quite literally sing their praises all day long!! I will absolutely be holding the standard they displayed on our day to any future weddings we attend. We truly enjoyed every second of planning our day with them and miss them all already. The perfect team & venue for the perfect day. Our wedding co-ordinator Lucy was amazing from our first viewing, to our menu tasting to the day itself, she was genuinely happy to be on the journey with us & nothing was ever too much. The whole team are just the best from the waiters, bar staff, the DJ nick to the admin team. The venue is beautiful inside and out & the food was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t have wished for more so thank you to everyone who made it happen ♥️

We got married on the 7.8.23 and couldn't have imagined a better place to get married. From start to finish everything was perfect and better than I could have imagined. Fiona was amazing at getting back to emails, and knowing every detail. Food was perfect. Bar has a brilliant range of drinks and not extortionate pricing like other venues I've been too. Nothing was too much of an ask and it's in such a stunning setting. Thank you so much, to the whole team for making our day everything we could have imagined.

Lovely venue, stunning scenery and great place for a wedding. Unfortunately let down by the bar staff, many didn’t know what basic drinks were and service was slow. One bar lady looked ready to fight with customers because a person hadn’t paid as she got chatting to some other guests. I’d have expected service with a smile and helping people that have no doubt paid a fortune to enjoy their special day.

Without doubt a 5-star venue for weddings from our experience. We cannot thank all of the staff at The Venue enough, everything at our wedding in August was just how we hoped it would be and more. A special thanks to our coordinator Lydia. Everything about the whole process was wonderful; booking, liaison during planning, every bit of extra detail and effort on the day. Nothing was too much to ask and the place is just stunning. And the food… the food is amazing! We had so many comments on the venue, our guests loved it and could see why we fell in love with it. Came for a wedding. The food was excellent. The place was great. However, only one beer available, lots of largers/European beer all pretty much undrinkable. Shame it could have been so much better with a few licak beers.

We got married in August 2023 after booking early 22. The venue have been absolutely incredible throughout. Excellent communication and kept everything on track. We were so impressed by the venue , the food and location but the staff make the whole expression 10x better. We cannot express how excellent our day was and we felt relaxed all the way through. We know it's a high demand venue and constantly busy with events but we never felt like a number, made to feel so special and they had time for all my questions and awkward requests ! Lucky to have found this space that met our budget. We are really into our food and they did an amazing job with our feasting menu for the day. Wish we could do it all again. Shout out to Lucy our coordinator who was on our journey since day one - best in the biz 🥰

We recently celebrate our wedding at The Venue, and we are so glad we chose this as our venue. Many of our guests commented on the stunning Venue. We enjoyed our wedding breakfast in the Spinning Room, which was a lovely setting for a gorgeous meal that was enjoyed by all. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly, and helped us with any questions that we had prior to, and during, the wedding. We would recommend the venue to anyone!

Fun place to have a prom, food was better than I thought it would be, and a good mix of drinks! Bartenders had a good knowledge of drinks that aren’t well known.

As soon as we looked round The Venue we knew it was where we wanted to get married. The stunning location, the amazing staff and the beautiful rooms inside were all perfect. We cannot thank Lucy enough who organised everything with us. Everything ran smoothly and perfectly, Lucy and all the staff made us feel calm and happy for the whole day. All our guests loved it as well and kept asking how we found such a fantastic venue. The outdoor area was perfect for drinks in the sun, the bar was very reasonable for a wedding venue and the food was much better than any wedding food was delicious and praised by everyone. From originally booking the venue all the way through to our wedding day the service and attention we received was amazing, no job or request was too much for them and the day of the wedding ran perfectly and we couldn't be happier with it, a big thank you to Fiona for the planning and organisation we are are really grateful and would definitely recommend this place for a wedding day!

We had the best wedding on 6th May 2023. Rebecca our wedding coordinator and the rest of the team were fantastic, nothing too much trouble. The food was piping hot and delicious, the pizzas for the evening food kept on coming until everybody was full. The venue itself provides so much flexibility to have the wedding you want. We came here for a wedding the Venue is great and really big so ideal for large wedding parties there’s also a nice area outside for pictures with a stream running around it. The alcohol is reasonably priced as well for a wedding venue.

I can't say how pleased I was to find this venue! We needed to seat 300+ people and wanted something different. This location is amazing, the stream, pergoda, the greenery is just stunning and a great backdrop for pics. From start to finish the staff could not help us enough, especially Rebecca, she ran around like it was her daughters wedding and made all our wishes come true. Thankyou so much!

Was there for my nices wedding a great venue, the staff were very friendly polite and helpful, the only downside was probably the bar as they had problems with the cast beers and they could sort the problem out, but other than that a great time.

Attended a wedding at The Venue and what an amazing place. Location was really nice and tucked away. We had a wedding coordinator (Fiona) who was absolutely amazing. The fact that Fiona had to manage the wedding celebrations but also had the issue of parked vehicles blocking gym users from downstairs in and the way Fiona handled the entire situation was brilliant. Not once did I notice her loose her composure or her calm collected personality which added to the whole experience of a great wedding. I can't write enough good words about Fiona and her help on the day. Great work and Thank you. 😊

As soon as we visited The Venue, we knew we needed to get married here. From start to finish, the whole team made our day exactly what we wanted and completely bespoke. The venue itself is a beautiful old mill and was such a romantic backdrop for our day. Rebecca and the whole team looked after us so well, the day went by without a hitch. We loved it here so much!

What can I say. Words truly can't express how amazing our experience of having our wedding here was. The venue is 10/10 beautiful- so incredibly stunning and interesting for photos. Our food was insane, our photos are beautiful, and the crowning glory- the staff. Everyone was so incredibly helpful and beautiful to work with from beginning to end. We planned a last minute wedding due to family illness, and Lucy our wedding coordinator was a shining ray of lovliness and did everything in her power to make our day as incredible as possible. I booked this venue before I even looked round because i just knew. It is one of a kind and truly magical, and the attention to detail, support and service is second to none. The interior and exterior are both just stunning. There is nothing more you could ask for than have your wedding here, it is beyond anything you could hope for.

We had our wedding here last week (22nd Dec 22), and it was truly the most magical day. From start to finish, the team was simply amazing, and nothing was too much trouble. The venue itself was superb, the food was fantastic, and all of the guests thoroughly enjoyed the great variety of drinks (& shots!) Thank you so much 💓 xx

I attended a late summer wedding here and it was good fun. Nice spacious hall with a pub - perfect for the day's festivities. Everyone had a great time.

We had our wedding at The Venue. From day one of planning our wedding organiser Rebecca made it such a pleasurable experience. She helped us feel so at ease and I can honestly say by the time our wedding day came around we felt that our special days events were truly being looked after. Our reception was amazing. From the beautiful food we received to the fantastic waiting staff who delivered everything timely and professionally. We moved seamlessly onto our evening party. Theres a great selection of drinks at The Venue particularly if you are partial to a good real ale like me. Again everything ran like clockwork and our night guests couldn't compliment The Venue enough. The grounds of The Venue also provide a beautiful back drop for some amazing photos. From the waterfalls to the romantically lit pagoda. Sometimes its the personal touches that make a special occasion just that extra special. We were certainly provided with those. I would like to give a special mention to Adam, Nicola, Rebecca, and Lucy and not forgetting Nick the DJ for making our dreams come true.

We had our wedding here in September and it was perfect from start to finish. The venue itself is so beautiful and the different spaces work seamlessely together. So many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had and it really was! The DJ is also excellent - so much so our friends wanted to hire him for their wedding. In the run up to the day the team were on hand for any questions, on top of all the little details and were just so lovely to work with! Could not recommend it more!

I was here recently for a wedding and everything was spot on. Food was great, choice of beers and spirits was excellent and surprisingly for a captive audience the prices were reasonable, even the cocktails were good. If you are contemplating a wedding here, it appears everything will be well catered for and I don't think you will be unhappy with your choice.

We had our wedding here in October 2022 and the whole day was fantastic from start to finish. When planning the wedding the Venue helped us organise it all so we didn't forget anything! On the day it ran so smoothly and the food is amazing. Would definitely recommend viewing it in person as it's beautiful inside and out.

We got married here in august and we can’t recommend it enough. It’s a stunning location. We had our wedding ceremony outside and the weather was perfect, the set up was beautiful. The whole team were amazing, they went above and beyond for us and were so helpful the entire way through. We couldn’t have asked for it to go any better we had an absolutely perfect day! Along with us our guests were very happy with the location and food. We can’t wait to come back for more events!

We stayed at the Bowers Mill Aparthotel it was excellent. Great value for money comfortable and convenient for us visiting family and friends in the area. Would highly recommend.

My daughter had her wedding here. The venue was a great choice. The wedding ceremony itself was indoors due to weather but I think it was better than being outdoors. The wedding room was intimate and beautifully decorated. The dinner and evening location were in the same place but, they managed to make the dinner intimate by using curtains, which then opened out to crest a great party room. The only real negatives for me are they rushed my daughter out of the room she hired to get ready so they could clean it, despite her being the bride and stipulating when she would need to go. It lacked a real setting for photographs outside but the photographer maximised the pagoda area. Had that been decorated for photos it would have been perfect. There appears to be no attempt to control the wasp population making a lot of people outside uncomfortable. The burger stand at night had great burgers and sausages but they were in dry buns without being buttered and had no condiments! However, I’m sure these can be overcome with some effort.
