Drinks are nice, food is absolutely diabolical, the meat tacos are completely dry and they try cover it with cheap ketchup. Don’t even bother going for food it’s foul.

Lorry driver, went for a stroll to find some dinner that's not the norm crap from services... Welcomed me in as "table for one", adapted the menu to suit ( half charge for extra chicken on the side) good atmosphere. Food was genuinely very nice, especially the seasons fries!! Service was spot on.

Came here with my partner on Saturday as was blown away by how good the place was. As soon as we arrived we was greeted by a lad on the reception and soon sat down outside and then moved inside to eat, he was very friendly and helpful. The drinks were incredible and the food on par - best guacamole we’ve ever had. All the staff were friendly and helpful and gave us us recommendations. We can’t wait to come back.

Couldn't have asked for better service, food, or drinks. Wouldn't have asked for a better place in Hull to go to for atmosphere, experience, and vibe as a whole. Halloumi souvalaiki is to die for; Matt and Will were outstanding!

Come to Cuban Petes as a party of 4 people for Bottomless Brunch, which I have never done brunch before so was a bit skeptical. However, at Cuban Petes it was excellent value for money, the cocktails were excellent, they was tasty and wasnt drowned by juices and the food quality was very good and also very tasty. Will definitely plan to come to Cuban Petes again for bottomless brunch. The service from staff was good too as they worked swiftly, catered to needs and was very polite.

Loved our visit to Cuban Pete's. Service was excellent and the food and drinks were exceptional! So impressed at how fresh and tasty everything was! Can't wait to go back.

The best bottomless brunch I've had. I was really surprised by the menu choice of the bottomless brunch. The beef Birra tacos were absolutely amazing and the chicken wrap my friend got also looked really good and filling. Both waiters who saw to us were so lovely, bubbly and gave great service. I will definitely be returning. Cannot fault the place at all, especially for the price!

We spent a lovely afternoon, celebrating a couple of girls graduations here. We had the brunch option, for £37.50, including 90 minutes of drinks. The staff were all fantastic, couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely, and there was plenty of it, and cocktails were also very good, can't recommend this place enough. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Popped in here with my wife and daughter on a Friday evening. Stumbled across love music, cocktails and enchiladas. Great vibe.

I just love this place, the cocktails are amazing and definitely no holding back on the booze! We ordered some fries to share as a light snack and they were very moorish - the seasoning was delicious. The food on the next table looked good and we will definitely be coming back.

So... we've had food here before and loved it but we weren't able to eat this time. This may be a function of its popularity... although there were tables free we were told they were booked and so we could not eat. Unfortunate particularly as whilst we were at the bar the tables remained free - slightly irritating that there seemed to be no plan for walk-ins. Nevertheless! Whilst we sat at the bar in the hope of a table we were well looked after by Mattie who made us awesome cocktails - including impromptu caparinhas not on the menu but my favourites and which Mattie executed expertly with flair. New favourite drink at Cuban Pete's for me was the Jungle Bird and my wife loved Petey's Pear!

We went for the Brunch as a couple and Chloe served us. Chloe was exceptionally polite, overly attentive and really made our experience. The food was beautiful!!! Worth the money!

We ate at lunchtime midweek in March. The waiter did his job without any enthusiasm. The food was okay but felt expensive for what you got. The churros we ordered for dessert were raw inside. Not a place I would risk going back to.

They always have walk in tables which is great. Lots of food and drinks options, gluten and dairy free/vegan as well. Mojito was a bit disappointing, too much ice and no taste :(

It was quiet. We were only 2 tables in the restaurant. We ordered our food check backs were done. But after a while not seen if we needed more drinks. So I had to keep going to order from them at the bar.

I called in for a drink when I was in the Old Town for the Trinity music festival. Not a great choice of beers, no cask conditioned real ales, I checked out the food menu, and when I saw what people were getting, mainly small nibbles. It seems expensive for what you get. It was busy, but the service wasn't as good or friendly as in some of the other places along humber Street. The place is well done out to give it a Caribbean feel. It's a real marmite place, some people will love it. I won't be back.

Very fast service, food came out in minutes. There are a few gluten free options and the same for vegetarian, but not loads of choice. Food was nice and were decent portions. Coffees were small and mugs weren't filled. Good atmosphere and friendly service

I really appreciate the waiter’s and the chef’s approach to the client (me)! I said I have an allergy to pepper/chili and they made a huge effort to give me some examples of dishes without it. I loved it and really recommend it ❤️

We were recommended this place by friends....however.... found it a little underwhelming. The place looks fab and does give an authentic atmosphere. Good range of drinks available, especially if you like cocktails etc. Food was nice however, underwhelming. I went for the specialty steak tacos. Two tacos came, each initially looked stuffed. However, there were only 4 chunks of steak in each one by the time you stripped back the greenery. There was little flavour to them. A disappointing £13! We also went for the loaded nachos. The issue here is the bowl they come in. It is a deep bowl so getting the nachos out without getting messy is impossible. These were nice, but again, for £11, I would have expected a little more. They were essentially Doritos covered in sour cream, guacamole and pulled pork. Service was rapid and helpful. Food came out in 10-15 minutes which was fab. Would go again and give it another chance.

What a great place for a nice meal. Tacos or burritos for £10/£11 which were really good. Great kids menu's too.

It's more expensive than we were expecting, but we did enjoy it. When we arrived it was really busy, but the nice chap at the door managed to squeeze us in, which was fantastic. There were plenty of people enjoying themselves, maybe a bit too much 🤷‍♂️🤣 (which was all good 👍). The menu seemed more like light bites, so for a place to have a good few drinks and some food, it's fine. But the costs were steep. 4 prawns, rice and salad (plus extra bits) was £10, which just seems a bit much TBH. But a small 200ml (66% the size of a can) was around £2.50, that's crazy! We enjoyed it, but won't be rushing back for a meal. But give it a go if it floats your boat 👍

We were seated quickly when we arrived, and service was perfect. None intrusive but aware of people and their needs. Chicken strips children's meal was more than enough for me as I eat small portions, the chicken was scarily soft, but all freshly made. My daughter enjoyed her taco bowl with king prawns. All in all, pleasurable and I'm sure we'll be back at some point! There are plenty of alcoholic drinks and two mocktails, alongside standard soft drinks. It's not the cheapest, but not expensive. Sky the standard price for the area and tour of eatery.

Food was great but the service was very slow. Music was too loud to easily hold a conversation. Lacks atmosphere.

Myself, my partner and our friend usually go out together once a month as a treat, and this month we decided to try Cuban Pete’s. We were really excited, but that was soon cut short. Upon arrival our order was taken quickly and drinks were fine. The food is where it starts to go downhill. The steak tacos were nice according to my partner and friend however the portion sizes were not compatible to the price. £12 for 2 tiny tacos with about 2 slithers of steak is not what you’d expect. The nachos were okay, I don’t think you can screw up nachos. I ordered the enchiladas and was looking forward to it. It came out and it was a singular, small enchilada, again for £12, not what you’d want. I opted for the beef and I wish I hadn’t, but the only other option was vegan brisket. The beef itself was extremely dry and everything else within the enchilada was flavourless. I asked for some cheese sauce or salsa just to try and add some flavour and make it less dry, to which I was told yes but we will have to charge you for it. No apology for the enchilada being dry and flavourless. The service wasn’t the best either. One gent with glasses was on top of clearing our table and keeping us topped up with drinks, however he seemed to go on his break or was busy with something else towards the end of our meal, the other gent on the floor made no effort to clear our table or engage with us or check back on our food. We had to wait until the other gent came back off of his break to be sorted out. Overall would not recommend, really upset that we spent £80 here. We did raise our issues to the server but we were just told the kitchen had been informed and they would change stuff for the future.

Great bar, from the atmosphere to the decor love it! But, it is expensive.

Food was average at best, service was awful, we went to the bar to order only to be told that it's table service, the one waitress working had zero awareness, we were waiting for her to finish a conversation with her friends for about 10 minutes before making an order, we were close to walking straight back out.

This place was full of people and the atmosphere was amazing but the food was horrible.

Called in while shopping as an out of town visitor. At the time was with my Son, Daughter in law and my new born grandson. So as you can imagine, not part of a rowdy stag party. We were refused entry by the door staff and told to sit outside, probably because we had the pram with us. I then asked if I could go into the bar and see what the selection was and the member of doorstaff stood in front of me stopping me and said that she would bring me a menu out. Still not sure why we were been treated in such an I'll mannered, rude and passively aggressive manner we took seats outside and were ignored by staff for 20 minutes before eventually being asked if we wanted to order. The drinks were expensive and of low quality the overall environment is unwelcoming. The atmosphere of the bar is pretentious and the staff arrogant and rude. I will not be returning and I could not recommend this bar to anyone. Please consider where you would like to spend your time as there are so many good bars nearby where you would likely be treated much better.

Great place, best if you like rum..very good evening relaxing with friends and drinking the diplomatico reservo.. We didn't eat, so can't comment on food.

Waiter knew nothing about anything on the drinks menu, couldn't tell us what drinks they served. He had to keep consulting the menu which we had already done and was reason we weren't sure. I got a bottled cider which at the price of £4.50 I thought would be the size of a rekordelig/koppaburg etc..no, it is a half pint version, this works out at 9 quid a pint, sorry too expensive for me, wont be back.

The staff are friendly helpful and quite efficient but this is when everything goes downhill, the place is called Cuban Pete's but everything is Mexican which makes no sense? I had the sandwich which was really poor and very over priced £9 for a flimsy panini on its own and why are fish fingers and chips on the kids menu. The beef brisket had bones in and the food was all heat and no flavour, dessert menu is poor only 2 items on it but only 1 item was available the churros which are way too expensive £5.50 for 5 tiny churros. This place needs to rethink everything and start again I gave 2 stars purely for you the staff otherwise -5 would be appropriate. I won't be going there under current ownership ever again.

Located on the pedestrian area of Humber Street. There are plenty of tables and a good food menu plus cocktails and a good range of other drinks. We had cocktails and they were well made and reasonable sizes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Next time we may try the food

Said on the website that it was open on a Wednesday but when we got there it was closed. We had selected this place for our anniversary drinks and meal, needless to say if it had been good, we may well have been frequent customers as what is served here is right up our street. Needless to say that won't be happening now!

Our city break was made complete by this wonderful restaurant in a beautiful location. This must be the next best thing to being in Pete's Cuba and the vibe, decor, food and drink certainly made us feel that. The welcome was warm, the service second to none and the food fantastic. As were the cocktails. We felt the prices were very good and the portions were large. A lovely, vibrant part of Hull is made more so by a restaurant that nails every aspect of putting a smile on your face. A feather in Hull's cap and a credit to everyone involved. We'd return like a shot.

My wife and I went for lunch at about 14.30 the young lady who served us was amazing and a credit to Cuban pete’s she said she’s fairly new there brilliant service will be recommending to friends and family really enjoyed it

They've got an amazing selection of bevargages and a great range of cocktails. The new Mexican and Cuban street food menu is pretty good as well. Fast and polite service. Can't fault it. They're now using resdiary for booking tables for both good and drink as well!

Some of the worst food I’ve eaten in Hull. Really bland, king prawn tacos just covered in salsa and sour cream but no flavour added to the prawns. Worst padron peppers I’ve ever eaten and cubes of boiled potato in fajita seasoning trying to pass as Mexican “patatas bravas”. I had a margarita which was full of ice and had a weird flavour too. I wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Fabulous Food, good atmosphere, Lovely staff!

I was really looking forward to coming here but the service is terrible. Took forever to get anyones attention to order food and drinks as theyd all rather stand talk to each other by the bar. The food was good, but after waiting over 15 mins for our last round of drinks we left.

1st time coming here and I'll be visiting again! Really nice place to hang out! Not tried the food yet but will as it looks amazing! Drinks are really nice, friendly staff too!

Terrible food. Came out within 5 minutes of ordering. Pulled pork burrito had more water in it than the Thames. Certainly won’t be going back.

Margarita was watered down and full of ice (there shouldn’t be any ice cubes in the margarita, only little bits if none) shame… it felt a little bit like a tourist trap…. Mix of South American, RnB, Spanish music :/

2 stars for the place set up, 0 stars for cocktails and service. The tall waitress with glasses and acne face should learn some maners and get a better knowledge of cocktails. I am going alcohol free, but on a special occasions will allow myself one Margarita 🍹. I was served something in a whiskey glass full of ice, which is not a margarita, but the waitress insisted that it was. It was exchanged, but the taste was horrible. Shocking! They cannot even get right the simplest cocktail on earth. Other cocktails were the same.

Great cocktail bar... Misses asked for a cocktail not on the menu, Pete obliged without complaint... Really enjoyed it..

Found this place on our latest visit to Hull. It's in a popular location and has lots of kerb appeal. The interior is stylish with plenty of seating but the outside area is perfect for people-watching and passing a warm evening by. Nice addition to the street. With this place, Dexter's and Hearth, nice to see Hull continues to give us something new each time we visit.

Fui a este restaurante a la hora del almuerzo y yo el sándwich de carne y estaba delicioso. Me encantó la forma en que fue presentado y todo fue como quería. Me encantan las paredes de madera y cómo tienen algunas de las cosas antiguas de cine en la exposición (porque el edificio fue un antiguo cine) nos lo pasamos de maravilla y se lo recomendaría a cualquiera

I've been wanting a place like this in Halifax for ages and the wait was worth it! Beautiful place, tasty food and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
