Lovely place, wasn’t waiting long to be seated. (Saturday 7pm) Was asked if we wanted drinks within a few minutes of sitting down. Nice range of foods to choose from starters to mains to sides desserts. I ordered mixed starter for 1 (nice fresh and very tasty) chicken tikka masala mild for main with rice and some chips and a garlic nan. I totally underestimated the portion sizes. Lots of food but I hadn’t eaten all day so it was challenge accepted. Chicken tikka Masala was perfect not too spicy, very tasty and the chicken was lovely and tender. Rice was perfect not soggy and the chips nothing special to write about the garlic nan was fresh with a subtle hint of garlic very tasty. Service was second to none we had drinks, we wasn’t left waiting for more drinks, we wasn’t left surrounded by empty plates fantastic service all round. Atmosphere was lovely family vibes, romantic vibes. Decor was lovely all round I was very happy first time visiting will definitely be back again

OK Indian, there are better if you're prepared to travel to Sowerby Bridge.

Had a takeaway, main meal, a side, and rice between us with a nan each. It was absolutely fantastic, and portions were just right.

So disappointed with this place. Table booked, looking forward to it...got there, shown to our table .no worries. Ordered a drink..then it went down hill. 1 water 1 lager...slammed onto the table at the side of us ,no asking which is which. People who came in a while after us where then served 1st ..... eventually had our order taken. Onion bhajis..my fav..were so bloody dry ..they did not taste fresh at all, more like refried from yesterday..we both left those..they were never taken away ..they were left on the table and the main served around them and they were clearly pushed to one side by us...not once did anyone ask if the meal was okay at any point...the man serving was so miserable, no smile, no acknowledgement that we were even there ...the mains were okay but a mixture of tough chicken with lovely tender chicken. Why was that? Again no one came to say is everything okay with the food ..why not? That's the sign of a good business isn't it? They had no interest in us as customers at all!!!!. Paid our bill and left ...no tip, no recommendations to others...we will never go there again...which is sad... So much more went on but no room to say and no desire to say ...so very very disappointed 😞

First time I have been here but will be back again. Thought it was a small place but actually it is a lot bigger than it seems, a bit TARDIS like. I had the saagwala with mushroom pilau. Brilliant, a huge amount of spinach, big chunks of lamb and chicken. The chicken jalfrazi that my partner had was just as nice. Both had succulent pieces of meat.

Amazing food service and location !

Three of us dined in for a Xmas day dinner.. The poppadoms were a little bit stale. The chutneys were fine. The starters were beautiful, the two main dishes, we opted for traditional Xmas dinner., and they were very poor to say the least. It consisted of rock hard sprouts & carrots, mushy green beans, along with aunt Bessie type of stuffing ball with a very small yorkshire pudding, a few roast spuds ( also aunt Bessie type). The Turkey was obviously reconstituted Bernard Mathews type of thing, which was extremely overcooked and dry, topped of with watery brown liquid which they called gravy The other main was a traditional Indian lamb curry with rice and that was quite nice Followed by the deserts.. One was a battered thing dripping with fat, served frozen? A xmas pudding served lukewarm in a very cold dish And Profiteroles 5 of.. Which were edible 3 lagers & a bottle of cold red wine Not bad for £140 Sorry but we Won't be going back

OK over cooked some of my chicken was burnt.... service slow....curry came had to wait 10 more mins for the rice!

A brilliant restaurant for an evening meal or takeaway, families are welcome as are groups. The food is freshly made and piping hot. Very generous portions.

What a waste of £40.00!! Food was terrible after a long day of driving, we thought we would give this place a chance after driving past it many times. Picked up takeaway that included Seekh Kebabs, Garlic King prawn, Chicken madras, and lamb biryanis. Seekh kebab was RAW!!! Garlic King Prawns were frozen and flavourless Chicken madras was over cooke rubbery protein with the worst sauce I have ever tasted, it was watery chilli soup Lamb biryani was stewed lamb with a watery veg curry. The rice was ok but nothing special. Garlic Naan bread where flavourless and salty Sorry but this was the worst takeout we have had in a long time, not looking forward to tomorrow 🤮🤢🥴 🚽

Went here with a friend. Had a wonderful meal. I think I over faced myself with ordering a starter lol. Was really good though.

The food was bland and the service very slow. We visited on Friday 13/10/23, ordered starters and mains. The starters took circa 1 hour and our mixed platter was missing the Bhajis, which I pointed on when the dishes were collected and they brought out with the main course. The main courses all tasted very similar, my dish was Balti matar paneer ordered hot (cheese & peas) … what I got was too many onions, broccoli, very little paneer or peas and absolutely no flavour! The naan wasn’t too bad though! Over 2.5 hours in the restaurant with 1 round of drinks. It’s fair to say that the 4 of us were disappointed and won’t be calling back.

Enjoyed a take out from here last night. Went in and had a drink whilst it was prepared. Staff very friendly, reasonable prices and we really enjoyed our food. Would definitely return if we return to this area again.

Visited on a Friday evening just after 7pm. It took over 20 minutes for a drinks order to be taken and another 20 minutes for most of the drinks to arrive, the final drink was 10 mins later. The service was extremely slow throughout. When the mains arrived, one was wrong, one was missing. When the missing meal arrived it wasn’t what was ordered. Food was very average, service terrible

One of the best Indian(South Asian) foods around Halifax. Good selection for non-veg as well as veg, and a reasonably stocked bar. Some of my fav dishes here are: Tandoori Lamb Chops (best in Halifax) Chicken tikka starter Fish sukka starter Tandoori Lamb chops Curries: Bahar-e-Murg (chicken with minced lamb based curry) is my fav. Most curries and starters are good. Bread: Garlic coriander Naan Rice: Garlic coriander pulao is the best. Staff is attentive, couteous and ready with good suggestions.

My girlfriend & myself ate here one Tuesday evening around 6'ish.was surprised as to how busy it was,a good thing for so early on a midweek night. Food was excellent, lovely tender lamb in the lamb balti i had & the chicken tikka masala on the bone my girlfriend had was fantastic.. Will be going again,can thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

We have visited here many times over the last 12 years or so. It has never ceased to please. Some of the best food we've ever tasted, accompanied by the best service. Long may it continue.

We ordered some mouth watering curries for a family of 5 including the 'special' prawn, lamb and chicken bhuna + a chicken tikka masala for the kids with biryani rice, normal nan and garlic nan. Salad, and all sauces included. The food was amazing and portion sizes were very generous! The staff are incredibly friendly and professional including the boss and chef. We will be ordering again very soon. I highly recommend this place!

Our local Indian restaurant. Whether you dine in or have takeaway the food is lovely and always friendly, efficient service. The menu has a number of more unusual house specials which are great. Happy to recommend.

Well it was OK but not the best curry ever. The place looks a little dated, the car park unlit. So I can't agree with previous comments. ENGLISH DINERS are not the most discerning anyway.

Always friendly staff and good value tasty food. Update 30/12/22. Four of us went for 6pm meal. Warm atmosphere and all staffvhelpful and pleasant. I had lamb sashlick which was excellent. Probably the best Indian meal I've had. All the other meal were good too. Will certainly be going again.

As a family on holiday we didn't expect to experience such lovely food from a take away. Fish tikka was tasty and fresh. The motor paneer and mushroom baji were also among the best I have tasted for ages.

Definitely upscale for what I was expecting in that zipcode. Clean and well presented dining environment. Flavors were great. Hospitality by the employess was definitely the best they could offer. Best Indian restaurant amongst that zone for sure. A must visit if you are around in the area.

Ordered the lamb kahari. The worst curry I have ever had. We couldn't eat it. Basically a tomato and onion base with lamb. Not one hint of spice. Very disappointing.

Come here quite often with friends. Can’t fault it. Always quick service. Food is to a high quality and quite an extensive menu. The restaurant itself is nice and clean and well decorated. Would recommend!

We came as a treat from our son. We have been before for the curry menus, but this was different. Christmas day. We sat at around 3pm (the meal choice made several weeks ago). We were served poppadum's and a selection of chutneys, Our starters came to the table after about 15 minutes with all the correct choices. After another 15 minutes then the main Christmas dinner, and my, the portions of turkey was huge. Selection of vegetables (which was very slightly underdone, the dinner plates were cold (1 star knocked off for that). After 30 minutes the sweet was served, again the selection was correct. All in all great value for Christmas day - well worth it,

Been going to the Cinnamon Lounge in Ripponden for for many years, since they first opened and I can honestly say that it just gets better. They've retained the majority of their fantastic staff, which is an achievement in itself. The food has evolved and is also fantastic, but it's the whole package that make this restaurant in Ripponden a little gem.

Popped in here for a meal and very disappointed with the food. The poppadoms were about the best thing we ate. We had the onion bhaji starter each which were very dry and bland. I had a lamb Madras and the lamb was cooked nice but the Madras sauce was well below par. Not fresh and all I could taste was chilli powder, worst I've had in ages. The wife had the jalfrezi and again very poor not much flavour. To me it's down to the place using powder to create a dish unlike some decent places using fresh ingredients. Sorry but we won't be returning

Very friendly staff quick service and very authentic taste

UPDATED REVIEW: Disappointed to say that this place is going downhill fast. Still capable of serving-up a decent curry, but recently it has become very hit & miss, with poor curries not infrequent. Main issues are poor quality meat (chicken) and inconsistent dishes (i.e. same dish differing drastically week on week). Won't be going back here in the near future. ORIGINAL REVIEW:This is our local Indian restaurant and it's the best in the area, with good food, subdued and relaxed ambience and friendly, polite staff. We've tried others (The Village, Syhiba's, Kippling's and Hanif's, to name a few), but we always come back to Cinnamon Lounge.

We pass here a lot and decided to book a table. We are so glad we did. The restaurant is classy, roomy and spotless, service is efficient and professional. Our mixed starters were tasty and well presented. Curries, breads, and rice all really well prepared using quality ingredients. My husband commented about the well varied menu. We will certainly go back and very soon

Lovely little place an food is amazing. Staff are great an nothing is too much trouble for them. Portion sizes are genrous an theres lots to choose from. The onion bargies are beautiful as is the mango lassi my little ones love that drink.

Visited the cinnamon lounge with family just before Christmas, the restaurant was busy and everyone was in good spirits. The staff are great and can’t do enough for you ! My reason for dropping to a four is that I wasn’t overly satisfied with my meal the chicken tasted slightly burnt and put me off eating the rest, saying that all other 3 eaters I was with enjoyed their meals! The restaurant is beautiful on the inside and has been well done. I would go back again to try a different dish.

First visit to the Cinnamon Lounge.Very deceptive from the outside you are in for a treat when you go in and see how large it is inside.The staff very friendly,nothing too much trouble.The service was like the food excellent.If you like Indian food and have not been to the Cinnamon Lounge then go and enjoy very good food and service

Food was excellent service was poor. Had to wait at least an hour after our starter before we got our mains only after we had to prompt that we hadn't got our food.

We have eaten at the Cinnamon for many years but the last couple of takeaways have beem awful. Last nights was quite possibly the worst we have har. The chicken was either processed or not cooked. The onion Bhajis were burnt and rock hard and both dishes were cold. Very disappointed think we will be giving it a wide berth for a while. Always seems to be when we have a takeaway on a Thursday.
