The Vedas - Todmorden in Calderdale

Simply one of the very best Indian restaurants in the UK. Always fantastic quality and great value. Have never had a bad meal here. Great food and friendly service.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was so lovely and friendly. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful but service was a little bit slow. The cost of the meal was so reasonable - very much recommend!

A boujie little Indian restaurant right in the centre of Todmorden, which I had no idea existed until we visited! The restaurant was well-decorated and food was nicely presented. Garlic Naan’s were very moist & buttery which is always the sign of care and quality (in my opinion!). The Madras was a little too hot for my tastes, but as a party of 4 we all enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back again!

Party of 4, excellent quick service, food was first class and really good value. Would definitely recommend.

I have been living away for a few years so curious to see if Vedas was as good as I remember, it was better, fantastic service, food was delicious and not greasy. 100% would come here again.

Nice place and great food. But did ask for all food to come out together but onions bhaji was brought out as a starter and they forgot my lamb madras but came out only 6 odd mins later hence the 3 stars

Very welcoming hosts, generous servings of freshly spiced food at great value.; we were in Todmorden for an evening - we'll be certain to return to The Vedas.

Food was good. Service little sporadic. Had to ask more than once for things. Bit slow in taking order, but asked 4 times while eating if everything was okay.Saturday night but very quiet.

This restaurant is authentic food wise. The staff are absolutely 💯 👌 fantastic. The takeaways are amazing 👏 I mean, they are the best I have ever had.

First visit here and I have to say what an Excellent Restaurant, we had the 3 course `Table D Hote`at £14.95 which was fantastic value for money, the food was first class and plentiful and the service was second to none. We will certainly be returning and would highly recommend it..5 stars all day long.

Always wonderful here. Staff are so friendly and helpful, had an accident with step daughter dropping a bowl and getting upset and they couldn't have been nicer. Provide colouring stuff and a good value kids menu. Good portions and meat is well cooked. Tandoori mixed grill is a good choice. Really nice and easy experience for a group

Probably the best Indian I’ve ever been to. Staff all lovely and the food is great. Not overpriced ever, good value for money.

Food is always delicious and it's a great place to take someone who has serious food allergies. The staff are knowledgeable and the kitchen is prepared to use chickpea flour for certain dishes.

The food here is so good. South indian chicken garlic is so tasty. Chicken Tikka masala is delicious 😋 The Nam breads are so fresh. Good rice options, good vegetarian options and the service is always great.

Came in this evening with friends for a birthday, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were served by the friendly staff to our table, taken on a trolley. With the beautiful interior, atmosphere and service it all felt very posh! Even going to the loo was a pleasant experience. The only thing that's wasn't posh was the extremely reasonable price! Will definitely be returning!

The food was quite good and filling but the service was awful, we won't be going again because of this.

Ordered a takeaway. Greasy Poppadoms. Mixed chicken and meat starter for two contained salmon samosas - it was meant to be chicken and meat! Fish allergies be damned. Biriyani was tasteless with dry chicken and the naan bread was undercooked with almost raw dough round the edges. Biriyani also came with the wrong sauce - not the one ordered. Overall very disappointing. The only reason for the 2 stars is that one of our party enjoyed their Chicken Tikka Masala. Think we will try elsewhere from now on as this isn't the first time we've been disappointed with the food. Shame.

Called in for dinner booked online without any issues. Service was polite and attentive nothing too much trouble. Great choice of drinks both alcohol and alcohol free. Varied and interesting menu. Don’t even bother with this place . Used to go all the time but believe it’s changed hands. Ordered online paid, to pick up at the time stated. Turned up to be told we haven’t turned the machine on. Annoyed at not getting food I asked about the refund to be told go through the ap company. BUT ITS YOUR AP. If you don’t want online orders don’t use them and take peoples money.

Great food in very nice surroundings

Family meal, really good food. They know how to cook tasty Indian meals, plus good English steaks ! A good range of items, some interesting dishes and everything well cooked.

Unfortunately we was sat near a table of 20 which was quite loud, but the food and service was and always is excellent I would highly recommend if you want tasty food and not too badly priced either

Great food, really value for money. Hospitality was amazing, we felt very welcomed despite it being a late Sunday night. They even found my lost hat which was an added bonus! Would definitely revisit!

Even though the service was slow , the wait was definitely worth it, as the food is excellent. My go to place for the best curry. Can't wait to return.

Great service, great food and great value. The fish samosas, chicken tikka spring rolls and south Indian garlic chicken were all excellent. The table d'hote menu, in particular, is excellent value

A last-minute decision to go out for food on a Sunday was a good one! The staff were friendly and very attentive and the food didn't disappoint. It was fresh and tasty.

We came here for my Mum's 70th on a Friday night. The place is vast with plenty of seating and a lovely bar area. The staff are kind and courteous, are great at recommending dishes and the food, was 1st class. We had a great time and will look forward to visiting again soon.

Nice setting, pleasant staff and great food. They were a little understaffed (due to illness) which they did apologise for hence 4 stars but otherwise excellent. Certainly would go again.

Lovely restaurant with good decor & atmosphere. We arrived just after a party of 15 had ordered food so the kitchen struggled for a while & we had a longer wait than expected. However, when the food arrived it was lovely & reasonably priced

Been coming here over the years whenever I've been in Todmorden, and I'm pleased to say the standards remain excellent. Great decor, always friendly, reasonably priced and always great food. I've had many curries across the UK, and overall this remains one of my favourite curry houses.

Poor. Dry chicken, old rice, asked for madras spice, tasted like it had sugar added to it. Low quality curry, marginally better than a freezer curry from a supermarket.

We've had takeaway from Vedas a number of times and the food is always delicious. First time dining in and we really enjoyed it, super tidy venue with ambient lighting and really friendly service/staff.. and the food of course is even better straight from the kitchen. Thank you very much!

Very poor food, I ordered a chicken Jalfrezi and specifically said i wanted plain chicken and of course they turned up with tikka chicken! I didn't want to wait for them to change it so I put up with it! But the curry itself was terrible bright red sauce like you would get 20 years ago and totally tasteless and full of chilli powder ! I would definitely not recommend this place and will definitely never return! I can't believe all the good reviews for this restaurant maybe these people never had a proper curry!!

Very cheap but that’s sadly all. Curries are more or less the same blended sauce with no hint of subtle spices. The vegetable curry is mostly cabbage and the paneer curry had some unidentifiable thing in it. A disappointment given the promise of the menu descriptions.

I give 3 stars because the food is very tasty. We enjoyed paneer chaat and kebab starters. Service was extremely slow, even though it wasn't very busy. My main course was wrong, I ordered masala and got Indian Spice vegetables. As we'd waited so long, I took it anyway (and enjoyed it!). My partner's main course was barely warm so he left a lot of it The bill was wrong, they'd added 3 pints of beer from another table. It took them ages to remove the additional £12 but they were apologetic, and did sort it out. Overall, it was disappointing because we probably won't return

Very bad customer service. Staff dont know how to speak to you. Food is always served cold make u wait for along time before serving the food. Ordered a delivery and it had maggets in it. Need to open there eyes and sort themselves out.

I had a Lamb Naga, with keema pilau rice from Vedas last night I’ve traveled the world twice over and have had many a good curry, but this was by far the best. Thank you Vedas.
