Hosted my daughter’s baby shower here and couldn’t have been happier. Beautiful room so easy to decorate prettier.. stone floor, beams, exposed brick and so many hooks around to hang decor from. The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend!

What a snazzy little pub to stumble across! Great beer, chilled Ibiza style vibes & lovely lovely pies. Main man Tony & his lieutenants ‘Lil’ Chris’ & Gabby are a dynamic leadership team who run a tight & entertaining ship; combined these three legends are like a publican version of Charlie’s Angels. Great Guinness & great vibes are the order of the day at this hidden gem of a boozer. Live sport too for sporty folk. “Go Sports”. Overall, The Last Post has the same component parts as the best Venga Boys’ songs; 1) Fun 2) Memorable 3) Unforgettably Good. “Woah we’re not going to Ibiza; Woah we’re going to The Last Post instead”. Highly recommended. x

I run a local ladies group and we usually rotate around the local village pubs when we meet each month. The Last Post has been recently refurbished and there is a really lovely room called The Victory Lounge where our girls group meets. It has its own private bar and is decorated beautifully. The staff are exceptional and really can't do enough for you. If you are looking for a venue for a birthday, christening or meeting even then you should try this place, it really is fantastic and I really cannot recommend this place enough. Great for drinks, great beer garden, great event/meeting room and super, super staff!

Love love love this place, great booze, great venue! Very strict covid rules in place at the minute which is fantastic, with great staff that really make you feel like your part of the ‘ Last Post Family ‘ even if it’s your first time there. Various rooms within the venue, multiple screens showing multiple sporting events, huge outdoor seating area and impeccably clean toilets! Can’t recommend this place enough. Reet Do 🍻👍

Great pub, Well run and friendly with a nice team of people. The social distancing works really well, felt good in there with my family. Table service was efficient and quick. Great to see when a pub gets it right. Cheers

Pop in here for a drink and you're part of something else. Barmen Tony and Chris make you feel like you've always known them and the locals are great to boot. I make it there two or three times a year but every time I visit I get a very warm welcome like I've never been away. They show every sport you need and show bands too. The heart of Ripponden.

This pub goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Following strict covid rules you are shown to a table. Immediately you are offered drinks and food by friendly lovely staff. They feel more like friends now. My dog got equal attention and constant treats and water. It has been hard with all the restrictions but your stress disappears when you go in this pub. It is very clean which instantly stops any worries. The locals are great and give plenty of advise on taxi and places to visit. If you are lucky enough to visit this pub you will not be disappointed. I arrived hungry thirsty and tired. Within 5minutes i was given a pint and a sausage roll. Thank you chris it had been a long day. I then spent the afternoon chatting to locals sat in the sun.

Can’t rate this pub highly enough, it’s significantly improved over the last 12 months since Tony the landlord has taken over. There’s a lovely new beer garden and gorgeous function room downstairs. The staff can’t do enough for you, and they have gone over and above to implement the social distancing measures. Well done Last Post team, love your pub and I could get used to this table service much better than queuing at the bar!

First visit to a pub since lockdown so was apprehensive about atmosphere, sitting at tables etc. Had my son and his girlfriend over so wanted them to have a good time. Shouldn’t have worried, from the minute we entered we couldn’t have been made more welcome. From the bar staff to Tony the landlord they couldn’t do more to make you feel at home. Real pleasure and proper service with a smile!

I'd been for fasting bloods at my GPs and walked into town perished in this awful bitter weather and had had no breakfast 🥣 So called in as it was the first place with hot food that I saw. WOW !!! Did they write the book about how to look after their customers in here ???Amazed, stunned & delighted to put it mildly. I'm veggie so asked for a non menu item which arrived with a steaming hot brew within about 7 minutes of me walking through the door but was it good or what ?? How anybody can make such a basic food item taste as good is beyond me but it was excellent and yes, I was tempted and added 2 pieces of parkin to the order which I shared with a friend later and that also was extremely tasty. Overall, reasonably priced, spotlessly clean, excellent customer service and yes I'll head there now any time I need a quick butty and know it'll be worth every penny. Thanks guys keep up the very good work 👷 ☆☆☆☆☆

What an absolute gem of a place. Ticks all the boxes...dog friendly, beautiful decor, welcoming and homely feel, amazing cake and friendly staff. The fact this place is open until 8pm is also great. So many other cafes were closed......thank goodness really as we wouldn't have found this gorgeous place otherwise. Coffee is gorgeous and the cakes were not only proper cakes but absolutely gorgeous. Fresh and delicious. The staff were super friendly and loved the fact we had our dogs. As someone with Autism the whole place just felt so lovely and I can't wait to return. We weren't overly hungry which was slightly annoying as the menu looked fab. I'm not vegan but the options sounded amazing and there was plenty of choice. Can't wait to return. Thank you!

This is a little gem of a cafe in the Piece Hall in Halifax. I came with a coach party from around the Blackpool area and we were dropped off at the Piece Hall first. It used to be a cloth merchants place many years ago and I worked just around the corner from here in an office in the 90’s and could not believe how much it had changed. It is full of little independent shops well worth venturing inside to look around. The stone work has been cleaned and the walkways/ floor redesigned. It’s beautiful now. A lot of money has been spent doing it up. They were just preparing to hold a Eurovision Song Contest party and I believe they held a Coronation party also for King Charles on May 6th. I ventured upstairs, there are lifts as well as stairs and came across G’s cakes. I love a nice latte and cake. Already members of my coach party were inside and I was served by a really lovely lady called Helen. She said she loved her job and you could tell. Nothing was too much trouble. I had a latte which was just perfect and a large slice of Victoria sponge. It was delicious. There were so many cakes to choose from. I was told they also had another outdoors eatery downstairs. It was so nice in G’s cakes, I went back before the coach headed onto Shibden Hall.
