The best restaurants in Penistone West Barnsley Yorkshire and The Humber

We called here for breakfast whilst camping nearby. It was an enormous breakfast with really nice quality produce. Will definitely be going back!

Great spot, allows hounds - even better! Try to get the table near the wood burner with the settee. But you’ll have to be early or Lucky!

Went in was 30min before closing time staff where more interested in closing than serving, waiting in line to be served staff made no effort to serve me ended up walking out.

Not for ZOE members, unless you’ve been good enough to be allowed chips . They will Do a side of vegetables if you ask . Nice staff .

Great pit stop between Liverpool and Scarborough if doing the EnglanDURO race. Staff were really accommodating and friendly. Food was deeeeelicious.

Cristello lounge is a lovely bar in Penistone its such a shame that they do not have a bar person that makes cocktails from scratch instead of the premade.

Saddened that the best pint and the heart beat of Cubley has been removed from sale! Yes their famous San Miguel which was sublime no longer exists. Staff just as perplexed are blaming the brewery? This has been replaced by a sub standard (but more expensive) Estrella Damm. A sales ploy no doubt and at £5.20 very over priced. Peroni is also £5.20 yes, and at 4.8%abv maybe worth it, but a flat average Estrella at 4.6% the same price, I’m not interested. It was a mile off the Miguel. A mile off. Same old annoyances still prevail, can never get served at the bar, food very ordinary, a claimed new menu not much different and the place is still manned by teenagers without a clue (rocketing min wage differences you bet)! A step backwards and maybe a death knell. What a shame.

A group of nine of us stayed here for one night after a day hiking in the area. Andrea and the rest of the team were friendly, attentive and helpful and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Our evening meal was delicious and came out hot - nine different plates! And breakfast was spot on too. We would stay again if we were in the area.

Travelled from Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Warm welcome & food was great! Recommend the fish & chips and the steak & kidney pie!

Walked around the reservoir and visited here afterwards. A lovely pint of Landlord plus delicious pies and fish & chips. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and real fire. Highly recommended.
