Dog & Partridge Country Inn in Barnsley

Not for ZOE members, unless you’ve been good enough to be allowed chips . They will Do a side of vegetables if you ask . Nice staff .

Called in on way home from Sheffield. Place was less than half full. Ordered starters and a main and got drinks. Starters came and was OK but looking forward to a main of steak and red wine pie as had no lunch.waited and waited and finally after over an hour we asked where food was to be told they had mislaid the ticket and what we had ordered was no longer available . To say we were disappointed would be an understatement and as we were now running late and did not want the alternative we decided to just leave. We were given a refund for the mains but no apology and not even a complimentary drink. Very disappointing and won't go back.

Great country pub with superb views outside, roaring fires inside and excellent food and drink. Our server, who greeted us warmly was called Phoebe. She was professional, efficient and very friendly. A credit to the Dog and Partridge. Our friends who were dining with us, also commented on this and how refreshing it was to visit such a nice venue.

We stayed for a few nights in December. Rooms are nice and very warm. Breakfast is good quality and food is also great. All staff seem to work hard. The place is dog friendly.

Fantastic helpful staff. Stayed 7th December and enjoyed the welcoming roaring fire ,a comfortable bed and great breakfast. We will definitely stay again. Would recommend to all.

Our second stay at the Dog & Partridge. Really pleased to find that everything was of a really high standard. The room was comfortable and the evening meal and breakfast absolutely gorgeous. The bar area is also warm, comfortable and cosy, and the owner and staff team helpful and friendly. Will definitely return here.
