I don't very often feel compelled to leave a review but wanted to share with you this beautiful little restaurant which had been highly recommended by some friends. The food was cooked to perfection, the table service outstanding and front of house extremely welcoming. The portions are very generous and the lamb shank just melted in the mouth. Buttery mash a must! The treacle sponge and custard was just delightful. This is the only restaurant we have ever been to where you are presented with a complimentary cup and saucer containing home cooked soup - what a lovely little gesture. Whilst the restaurant may be slightly remote, it is definitely worth the visit as it is surrounded by beautiful countryside why not go for a ramble and finish with a beautiful meal 10 out of 10 - we'll definitely be back

Lovely little cafe with great food and great service. Can highly recommend the toasties! Will definitely return for lunch again.

Lovely little café selling hot drinks, cakes and breakfast/brunch. The staff were really nice and helpful! They also have good vegan options, which I really appreciate, especially for such a small town café :) The flapjack was good — not too sugar-y like many flapjacks are. Couldn’t resist also getting some handmade earrings from the range of art/crafts/food gifts on sale.

Got rushed through meal and asked to leave table a few minutes after finishing main course! No offer of coffee or dessert just got given the bill then asked to leave table. It appeared that a very large party of teenage boys had been booked in which took up most of the restaurant. They ( whilst being very polite and respectful) were waiting for several Members of staff their party and an hour after their booking time they had still not ordered. That meant the rest of us were rushed out to accommodate guests that were patiently waiting to be seated. The food was lovely and very knowledgeable staff but the whole evening was spoiled for us by being rushed through our meal and asked to leave the table one hour and two minutes after arriving and seven minutes after finishing our main course. Very very disappointed. We won’t be going back despite being very locals to us. Cinnamon spice it is next time!

It’s in a good location and it’s a great cafe but the food is lacking flavour and quality. Staff are lovely and the atmosphere and interior design is lovely. Plenty of seating options and good for the kids. Good toilets and outdoor space for eating. Food is lacking tho! If they get a good cook, they would be absolutely packed. I ordered Yorkshire pudding / toad in the hole and it was disappointing. I ordered burger and chips for my son and wife. Unfortunately the burger was cooked medium! It had pink bits throughout the burger! I was having a brilliant day so I didn’t want to complain and kick up a fuss. The brownie was delicious tho and the iced tea 😊

Bank holiday weekend will be busy. Which I appreciate you need extra staff. But you probably need a few older than 16- 18. And some with experience and capable of smiling... Went to order no smile, no greeting. When politely asked if someone could carry the heavy tray up the stairs for us. The look we got was like we'd asked her to carry it up mount Everest. It was busy I get it, but the attitude was not ok. Especially when we've just handed over about £100. Maybe better place for drinks. Won't be back.
