Lovely, friendly little coffee shop / tea rooms, best cup of coffee around.Had the breakfast, " small". Delicious, good quality produce perfectly cooked. Well worth a call.

Had breakfast here on Saturday. All delicious. Eggs could have done with a little more cooking for my personal preference.. and the Richmond veggie sausages are the best. Staff were super busy and there was seldom not a queue. Could really do with a bigger premises but I guess it would lose some of the cosy factor. Delicious homemade milkshake and cakes and brownies. ❤️❤️ Staff wonderful

Cute little coffee shop with an amazing cake selection and the coffee was excellent for a fair price. They aren't stingy on the portions either and we were able to have a bit of left over cake when we got home. We were very happy with the service and felt really valued and appreciated.

Had a stop off today at The Loft today for coffee and cake to break up our trans pennine bike rise. About 15 different Brownie flavours to choose from. Had great service. Lovely cake, great coffee. Thank you.

It's such a shame that this cafe is above a nail/beauty salon because the smell of acrylic nails travels upstairs and it's not something that you want to smell when you're trying to enjoy lunch. The cafe itself and service is fine but the smell is really off putting.

Just had a beautiful ham and mushroom omelette from the specials board yum yum absolutely delicious well done girls !!lookinforward to another

Full English breakfast isn't on the menu but if you ask a member of staff they will make one up for you, it is by far the best breakfast I have ever had, great food, friendly staff and a nice cozy atmosphere, lovely cafe definitely recommend visiting if you are in penistone.

Can’t fault the food here at all, all freshly made to order and the cakes are really wonderful. Will definitely return

We keep coming back here for the toasted teacakes with lovely soft butter! The staff are friendly and more like a family.

Lovely coffee spot, very relaxed and brilliant staff, menu is great for lunch times and a great location for shopping.

Went in at 4pm on Saturday. Found the service to be very flat. A smile would be nice when taking our order or coming to our table with the food.

Stopped here and found tucked away. Only downside was the small sitting area but on the upside coffee was lovely and hot! Scone and cakes were pretty good and staff friendly. A great place to have on our list when passing.

love to stop here for coffee and cake and love the milkshakes here too! The kids enjoy banana and chocolate flavours and i've tried pretty much all the flavours with caramel being one of my favourites!

A bit tucked away and compact and bijou, but the most fabulous cakes and coffee, great place for a catch up with friends or taking a break from shopping. Very steep flight of stairs leading up to a very small seating area

I have been here lots of times for a coffee and a breakfast and every time I have been Impressed by the food and service, great cafe.

The welcome here is always very friendly. Lots of choice of lovely home made food. Good value for money.

I have been here a couple of times for a coffee. Very small and quite basic but a nice menu and the coffee was good. Would not suit a big group as not many tables.

El mejor desayuno en Penistone por mucho. Suaves huevos revueltos y bacon sabroso cocinado perfecto. Puede estar muy concurrido y la gente tiende a mesas para 4 cuando sólo hog 2 sentados allí. Conexión deficiente. Espacio limitado. Café - no es bueno para arriba cochecitos o personas con problemas de pasos. Excelentes cafés. En general le daría 8. 5 de 10 bien merece una visita.

Always lovely coffee, and great food. The cakes are exceptional. Just watch out for the steep steps.

Vivimos en Penistone y llamar al desván la mayoría de los fines de semana. El café, pasteles y sándwiches son siempre fresco y sabroso. El personal es genial. Sí su pequeño - llama el desván para una razón! Gran tienda de café local. Bien merece una visita.

Este es el único lugar donde podría haber agradable bollos peluquería dentro genial para sentarse fuera en el verano

Would never go back... Never get anything to take out. Went for a toastie and panini. And received them in a bag. But paid full price... The person sat in, had a panini with salad and side of crisps... Felt ripped off! Very poor... Also its said sweet chilli chicken mozzarella Panini, when all I received was plain chicken with sweet chilli sauce on the panini. It's was horrible. Could eat it.

Called in for coffee and cake after shopping, the food and staff was good, only negative comment was that it was a bit small an felt cramped

Had a visit to The Loft as I had won a free coffee voucher. On entering I could not believe how hot it was! Too hot for my liking. I suspect a lot of the heat is travelling from the room below. There are around 5 tables so its not the biggest cafe I have been to, and as one reviewer has pointed out, I don't think its suitable for young children as there are steps you need to climb to get there.Not withstanding it was OK. The cafe mainly serves drinks and very light refreshments. So for example on the breakfast menu you have toast, crumpets and the like - no cooked breakfast. I had a latte which was OK. Staff were friendly. There is also a selection of newpapers you can read which I did find nice.

It is a small cafe with a relaxed atmosphere, good cakes and well made coffee. Excellent value for money. Easy parking in Tescos.

Visited The Loft for the first time on the strength of the reviews, and wasn't disappointed. There aren't many tables to sit at, although thankfully there was one available when we arrived. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, and my wife and I had coffee and a slice of cake each for under a tenner. She had a generous slice of delicious coffee and walnut cake. I had a heavenly gluten free Chocolate and Coconut Torte, which just melted in my mouth. Friendly staff, quick service and a great location to the back of Tesco car park. Will definitely be back.

Food OK, little expensive but quite nice. Access with babies is difficult and no high chairs that I could see. Not ideal place for mums to have coffee but only my opinion! Good for a cosy coffee with friends

Called in after setting off on a walk along the dove valley trail to dunford bridge (approx 20 miles). This was the half way point, ish. Stopped off for a drink (hot chocolate) and it was lovely.quaint little cafe in the centre of town. Was quite busy when I went, which was lunchtime. I was alone so had no difficulty in finding a seat but if you were with someone else you wouldn't have gotten a seat. I didn't eat so cannot comment upon the food though from what I saw it looked very nice

My three young children and I love it here for those days you need something hot for breakfast but can't be bothered to cook. So cozy, affordable and friendly. The coffees and cakes are pretty amazing too

Been a couple of times to this place. Being close to the large Tesco means parking is easy and it's a convenient stop after doing shopping or jobs in town. The drinks are good - twinning's tea is great to see instead of this "teapig's" trash which is all over the place and allows cafes to ramp up their prices. There's a wide selection of food and cakes however it's not clear how many of these cakes are made in house, although personally I couldn't care less, it still tastes good. The staff are pretty grumpy and don't really seem to be able to crack a smile some of the time. Although they get on with the job and everything is quick - not difficult in such a small place I have to say.Overall, it's alright and a perfectly acceptable place to stop for coffee

The Loft us a nice place to have a stop, tables outside are nice if its not blowing a gale or raining sideways (remember it is in Penistone!) they have a nice selection of cakes and the sandwiches are good too. It's a bit cramped but the name does give it way.

Good coffee and food but need the door at the top of the then stars fixing to a stop It rattling on a windy day and driving custmers crazy

Stopped in for a coffee with my husband and preschooler one midweek afternoon and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Large coffee is indeed very large! Great selection of cakes, they were fresh and nicely presented. Free wifi. Would definitely return.

Excellent snacks / sandwiches, light lunches. Great coffee, pleasant friendly staff. Well worth popping in.
