Very slow staff. Only appears the owner lady (I guess) was interacting and the chap was. Well. Uninterested and slow. I’m sorry but a couple of sandwiches and coffees seemed to cause carnage. He came to serve tables outside and returned inside leaving the tables with used and left plates and cups. Not the best experience. Food was near cold (hot sandwiches) and noticed folk getting either coffee first then ages later the food. One chap had cookies and actually went in for his long awaited coffees. Long wait on our sandwiches. I’d not bother again as loads of coffee shops about.

Unplanned visit before a show at the Albany. Tastefully decorated and staff were warm and welcoming. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it in my opinion. We went for the 2 courses for £26 option and both of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. Highly recommend the mushroom starter. Will return.

Back to the Old Gate at Heathton, after too long an absence. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and helpful staff. There’s usually six real ales on tap. The local Enville ale is worth a go. We ate Cajun Chicken, Lasagne, Steak and Kidney pie and Chicken and Ham pie. Our Granddaughter had a large “child’s Fish and Chips” which demolished. The food was well prepared and presented.

Wish we'd read ths recent reviews and saved our money. We were recommended this place and the photos on the website were impressive. Also, it's in the Michelin Guide. But that was all based on the previous restaurant, not the current one. Same name, but different management. They still charge 'fine dining' prices but the meal was very average. A rather strange and oily 'amuse bouche' consisted of a cheese and bacon doughnut. My starter was 3 teeny sardines awash in oil plus a teeny bit of focaccia. No discernible seasoning. Main was a slab of trout (which was nice, but no different from what we would cook at home) plus four little florets of cauliflower which had been 'charred', and two teaspoons of puree smeared on the plate. All very dry and very basic seasoning. I had asked for some green veg on the side, and although the waitress smiled and nodded I wasn't convinced she understood. (The green veg never came). She seemed confused about the wines so we had to point at the one we wanted on the menu. My husband's beef was overly salty and instead of the 'fondant potato' he got a blob of mash. Two courses for £45 was little short of a ripoff. Even the two pot plants were dead in that sad conservatory. And no, I didn't complain, to save my husband's embarrassment, and in an effort to salvage the evening we just laughed (and wrote) it off.

Me and 2 of my brothers, went there, on a Saturday afternoon, while the market was on. They had ran out of the pork loin, so me and one brother opted for the homemade beef pie, with carrots, peas,New potatoes and gravy,my other brother opted for the not so small breakfast. There was about 20 minutes wait,as it's cooked as ordered, but it was well worth it! The food came out, piping hot, the pie filling was in abundance, plenty of carrots, peas and lots of gravy. It's a good job that it was piping hot, because, by the time that I finished the meal, it was still warm. Highly recommended, plus the place is very clean, the staff are very friendly and there are toilet facilities, and also a ground floor cafe, aswel.

Este lugar ha estado cerrado desde hace unos años debido a que el propietario lamentablemente falleció inesperadamente. Era una dama encantadora y en el poco tiempo que fue dueña del lugar, lo transformó.
