Best fish and chips I have had in a long time.

The food was lovely - haddock and chips for my partner, scampi and chips for me. I had mushy peas - very tasty - and my partner had gravy, which he told me was quite meaty. Definitely worth a visit, we've never had a bad portion from here. Enjoy!

I came to visit my sister and we fancy a chippy tea ... everytime we have visited this place our order is wrong when we get home ..... at the time of ordering the mistakes was made on the till but the young girl still seemed confused !!!!!also the portion size between 2 bags of chips was shocking !!!!!the chips were also so stuck to the paper I had to throw most of the chips away .... won't be visiting again...

I don't live local but was passing by in my truck, decided to have fish, chip, sausage and peas, can honestly, say, probably the best I have ever tasted, and there was alot too. Next Time I'm in the area, I'll be having more.

Great food with large portion sizes, the Chicken Kebab puts many other establishments to shame. Give it a try you will like it.

Stopping at Alton Towers Uttoxeter is the best place to pick up stuff you don't want to bring with you. Last time we were there before the plague we stumbled on this chippy, and it didn't disappoint this time, fed 13 of us and no complaints.

Used to be my go-to chippy when passing, so couldn't resist calling when in Uttoxeter. I wish I hadn't tbh. Chips weren't overly warm and a bit tough and chewy. Could have been reheated from the night before as it was only just midday, but I won't be rushing back here anytime soon. Used to be really lovely, well cooked food, but for the price it didn't represent value for money, given today's prices. Sad to have to leave this review, hope it goes back to the usual standard soon

Highly recommend. huge portions. Definitely only need 1 portion of chips for 3 people, we had so much waste. Really good tasting food.

Ordered 2 battered cod, when unwrapped at home a small amount of chips included with each fish, freebie. Fish was delicious.

We drive 12 miles for chips from Fishys....scrumptious as always.

We arrived a 8:45pm and I assumed that our choices would be limited. I was wrong! This place was great. The food was delicious, they cooked a whole new batch of chips and we were able to eat in. The perfectly prepared fish, chips, peas, spicy potatoes that we had were all hot and tasty. The batter of the haddock was bubbly and a perfect colour. It had a wonderful, satisfying crunch. Superb! The staff were capable and polite, and the service was fast. Top marks Fishy Business, I would love to visit again.

Food is ok, but I've had sunday lunches served quicker than they will knock out a bag of chips.

Always spot on. Have used several times now and always consistently very good. Hot, fresh fish and nice non greasy chips cooked perfectly. Chicken's very good too, not formed bits.

Some of the best fish and chips I've ever tasted

We had an excellent meal that we ate in as a family (with some disabilities) after a long day at Alton Towers; good value, friendly staff, great food. Would happily use again and happy to recommend. The only downside however was there are no toilets should you need them, and the Smithfield Hotel across the road went out of their way to make people feel unwelcome.

Our Friday night family treat. We’ve ordered via the website ever since last Summer and it’s very convenient. We usually arrive just after they have been wrapped up. The chips are the right balance of fluffy and crunchy and the fish is soft and moist without the batter being too oily.

Great fish and chips. Whenever I want fish and chips I visit here. Also has some nice snacks and service is quick. Prices are always low and whenever I'm in the area, I go here. Always delivers top quality grub time after time.

Excellent sized portions of chips. Friendly staff. Even had a couple of tables we sat at. Ordered online and was ready on time and exactly as ordered. Good vegetarian selection.

Splendid freshly cooked fish and chips. Warning: portions are vast. Don't come here if on a diet.

The staff were definitely rushed off their feet, the man that gave us our food did nothing but moan about being tired and wanting to be back in bed!!!

Chips went in bin and cod followed after first bit. Smell was not nice, change the oil more often hence the smell and taste, First and last time here. RUBBISH......

Not happy at being charged 10% extra for paying by card/phone as this has been illegal in the uk since 2018 On Saturday the 13th January 2018, the UK government made it illegal for businesses to add a surcharge to customers paying using their credit or debit card.

Best chippy in town in my opinion (we've tried others but been disappointed). Super generous chip portions - a small portion feeds 2 teens & me! Staff always helpful and we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Just go for the southern fried potatoes, they're amazing, imagine roast potato with a southern fried coating and only 60p.Oh and the chips were very nice too.

The food at Fishy Business is always fresh and delicious. My preferred chippy in town, the staff are always fast and polite. You can eat in for no extra cost- if you do then you are provided with plates, knives and forks... very good for the environment! The portions are very generous and the building itself is always very clean. Lots of variety on the menu (e.g. popcorn chicken/ chicken nuggets , scampi, wide range of pies etc). Kebab meat is to die for!

Hot debate whether this or Cod's Corner are best chippy in town. Personally I think FB has better Kebab meat and chicken. CC has better fish and chips

On a week away at Alton Towers we fancied eating somewhere other than the hotel so we took a drive into Uttoxeter. After a walk round the town we liked the look of Fishy Business. We were greated by smiling sales assistant that very polite and was was more than happy to help us with our our order. We had Cod and chips which was very reasonably priced. The food was cooked fresh and the wait wasn't very long. The chips were good but the fish was amazing, skinned, cooked well, batter was crisp and didn't have to much oil left on it. Would definitely recommend going here

Food can take long to make but is really tastey

Had a sit down meal in the shop. Generous portions of fish and chips which were of good quality, washed down with a good strong cup of tea, served by efficient and friendly staff.

Best chip shop in Uttoxerer in my opinion. I don't believe the comment about waiting 30 minutes, I would suggests the person who said that needs a new watch. As with most fish and Chip shops you might have to wait a few minutes if they are frying a fresh batch but they always ask if you are happy to wait. Pleasant and friendly staff, I would recommend Fishy Business.

Tonight was a bad experience 😢 I had a long wait and the fish was over cooked and there was a lot of grease on the batter. I use this fish shop all the time but a bad experience tonight. 👎👎👎

First time having fish and chips since moving here. AWFUL the food clearly was cooked in dirty oil as my fish batter was not golden, the chips had a funny taste and my haddock wasn’t even white! Do not waste your money or time we threw it in bin! I wouldn’t even give to my dog.

By far the best in town and the odd time they may got something wrong (which happens in my experience with all chip shops) they always put it more than right. They tick every box, good size portions, nice chicken meat, good Donner...

Went in for a hotdog and the young lady asked if I wanted any sauce so I said no then one of the men working there rudely said 'I bet she wants some of my sauce'. I am very discusted and shall not be going back there that's for sure!!!
