The New Barn Indian Restaurant in East Staffordshire

Used to be my go to Indian restaurant. We were told it's busy you will have to wait twenty minutes, about 30 -40 minutes later we were seated. there were only a table of 8 and maybe another table of 6. Hardly what I would call busy. The food was pretty average. Mine was ok but the other 2 curries we had barely tasted of much probably the blandest currys I've tasted. The samosas were tiny as well and 2 seemed a very small starter. It felt like the guy waiting on was doing almost everything and I wouldn't be surprised if he was helping cook in the kitchen. So disappointed because this used to be such a great curry house and I definitely wouldn't visit again

Lovely place and good service by the waiters.they even do one of the best kebabs....would recommend people to go and try the place out.

Worst Indian ever Family of 10. Where to begin. Mixed up veg and non veg samosas and my vegetarian wife ended up eating meat. Half hearted apologies, blaming each other - they didn’t really have a clue. We waited 1 hour for starters even through the restaurant was super quiet. Food was not great. Fish Amritsar slimy and bland. Chana Puri bland. Nan breads flat. Chilli paneer and paneer shashlik were identical. Tandoori chicken and aloo tiki were ok. No drinks menu. Left after starters. Place is a joke.

Quality food, clean well presented restaurant and excellent service..

Had a nice meal but we waited over 30 mins for the staff to offer us a dessert or a coffee but this never came.I had to go through to the bar where I found no one and then had to wait until someone came through for me to pay the bill. I won’t be going back.

After recently reopening after a change of management & refurbishment the quality of the food and service have skyrocketed. The staff are helpful and friendly and the food is delicious with good-sized portions.

Family member Ordered at 19.00 told delivery 20.15 it now 21.30 still no delivery. Ordered several times before today no problem . . Food excellent every time. No fault with the food , but his is the worse experience. Booked through just eat . . Tried ringing all you get is music. Not impressed at all still waiting. . Food on way ?????? Now 21.45 still waiting. . 22.00 still not here. .Just Eat appalling service

Always great to visit The Barn. Lovely, friendly service and always top quality food at reasonable prices. Plenty of car parking on site and spacious dining room ... or takeaways if you prefer.

Fantastic food promptly delivered

I’ve eaten at the new barn and food is amazing. 1st time for takeaway £54 the mushroom puri had a taste of raw spices the Tarka Dahl is water no lentils in it piss water been binned. Must have been left overs. Can’t comment on main not eaten. Eating toast now

Haven't had a take away in a while but the Barn didn't disappoint, fast service, tasty food with melt in the mouth chicken ... thank you, we'll be back soon x

Good food great service top night

Initially ordered mid afternoon via the online facility on the website. Initially expected delivery at 7.15pm. Tracked delivery which came up as “being prepared “. Followed up website at 7.20pm and reconfirmed order which then showed 45mins for delivery being 8pm. In short 5 calls later after a promise of delivery in 10 mins, advice that delivery had been completed the restaurant finally agreed they had neither cooked nor delivered the meal. It was now 9pm! I cancelled the order (which online is shown as “delivered “) and received no apology from the restaurant which at best offered indifference. Sad really as the food is good if they ever deliver it. PART 2 Restaurant refunded money, apologised and offered discount on my next order. One * becomes 4*

Extremely tasty, very courteous service

Once again brilliant night ,food was excellent as always. Service was great and they even gave me 2 free drinks because it was my birthday.Highly reccomend ,lovely relaxed atmosphere.

I've only used the delivery service, but on both occasions the food arrived on time and was of excellent quality. This is not the cheapest Indian food but as I say it was good and on the basis of my experience very reliable.

The worst Indian takeaway I have ever eaten. I’ll start by saying what was wrong… - The order arrived two hours after we ordered it ‘ASAP’ and they didn’t once call to say it would be delayed. - they sent lamb tikka instead of chicken korma. (When phoning and asking what if I was allergic to lamb, the manager said “well that would be you fault as you’d see it lamb coming out”) - the chips were cold and inedible (when phoning the restaurant I quote “they’ve been in the heater and they sweat a bit”). - naan bread was cold and somehow wet. - no apology offered by the restaurant when phoning. Only a 20% discount if ordering again. I wouldn’t let my dog eat this food… Not only terrible food but horrible customer service. Being card “matey” by the manager and telling me it was my fault I had lamb not chicken were the lowlights of this experience.

Well what can I say except excellent, my daughter threw me a surprise birthday meal with all my family, and everything was perfect, great food, great staff cant fault it all.

Sunday 5th Dec. @ 18.40. Had another delicious takeaway from here. Live nearby so decided to just pop round and order. Despite being very busy, our 4 person meal was ready 20 minutes after I ordered it. We had the Chicken Malayan, Veg Biriani, Aubergine Curry and a Veg Madras. Accompanied by Pilau and Fried rice, Garlic naan and onion Bahji. All of it was really nice, well cooked and well spiced. The Biriani was slightly hotter than expected but that was a personal taste thing. Can't remember the total bill but it was reasonable. Shaz and his team were really friendly and welcoming. Beautiful decor. Would definitely recommend.

This place is heaven mate, the food bought joy to my mouth and I'm absolutely devastated as I hear it may close down temporarily because of the virus, would recommend this restaurant to every single person i know , what a stupendous place.

Since eating here in autumn 2019 we have made this a regular place to visit. The food is excellent. A good variety and good portion sizes. The staff are brilliant and add to the experience of eating here. We intend to continue visiting and recommending. to visit6 we now make

Under the new management The Barn has made a dramatic turn around, and is once again a great place to eat. The food is delicious and the portions generous.

We came upon this restaurant by chance whilst visiting the area today. What a delightful place... Staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The building has been newly decorated, clean and comfortable. Food is very reasonably priced, piping hot, tasty, good portions and served by great staff that interacted well with their customers. This visit may well have been our first but we will definitely return when we are back in the area. Thank You to all at The Barn...

As been been reopened by the people that took the barn owl over when it was the first time taken over as Indian restaurant I can say food is good service is good nice location with ample parking all on one level very good service food to perfection x

The food and the service is good.

Nothing wrong with the service. It's just the food that's awful. Probably the worst Indian food I've had in all the places I've travelled to (including abroad). This isn't a cheap place so I expected better. We ordered a few things (measly portion sizes). The mixed platter was shocking. For mains we ordered a few and the worst was the desi staff balti; just like the staff eat apparently. Well maybe the do if they have no taste buds (we're of south Asian origins so we definitely know a thing or 2 about currys!) The sauce was basically a ketchup base that was then made spicy by adding chillies. It was horrid. Everything else we ordered tasted like it came out of a tin. The decor was gorgeous. Nice location, good parking. Shame about the food.

New chef . Probably won't be using again shame after 20 years of eating there.
