The best restaurants in West Midlands

My husband and I have visited the Balti Hut a couple of times recently and both times the food has been really delicious. We first visited on a Wednesday in August and dined at 7pm.We were the only diners in the restaurant. We thought it was maybe because it was midweek and we dined early so our next visit was in a Friday at 8pm. Again we were the only diners which results in a lack of atmosphere. Such a shame. They deserve to be busy. Perhaps they are at 10/11pm but that’s too late for us to eat. 😢

Fabulous find , lovely attentive staff, good atmosphere, excelkent value and food was delicious and really good portions. My chicken Tikka was delicious . Wish we lived closer

I have been here a few times but this afternoon I came with my daughter and my dog and had a fabulous meal. I am gluten free and vegetarian and had a huge range of choices. I had the Buddha bowl which was delicious! My daughter ate every scrap of the falafel burger too which she loved. My dog also had a sausage from the dog menu! All finished off with a delicious brownie and ice cream. Everyone is catered for here and welcomed. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. Really lovely Halloween decorations too which made it feel warm and cosy.

Another excellent meal at The Woodman. Can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal there. Delicious food, well presented and served. Much of the menu is sourced locally. Cask ales available too.

Great food, can’t complain but not the greatest service. You need to call a few times to get through and they only make your food when you are actually in the store.

**UPDATE - Sadly now closed!** Incredible experience! Wonderful service, absolutely amazing food, excellent quality drinks. We went for the bottomless summer menu, tried all the vegetarian dishes which were all outstanding and amazing value. The staff were really attentive and warm. Best Japanese food we’ve had outside of Japan! Made our wedding anniversary extremely special and we can’t wait to visit again with friends. Thank you Sushido!

What a delightful place to come for a Sunday roast dinner. Good ales on Lovely garden and surroundings. Very attentative polite staff nothing was to much for them... Food was amazing plenty of meat and veg. And proper roast potatoes and lots of delicious gravy.....and price was on point.. well done sweeney hall will be back..no complaints from me and the Mrs..

I’d like to thank Raj and his whole team for the service and fantastic food for my partners 60th the function room held 18 off us all hungry, plus a busy restaurant with lots off folks eating, we was all was served promptly with hot delicious food, my partner really enjoyed her evening and her family have all promised to visit on there own, thanks was a fantastic evening

Really good, nice and clean, very warm welcome and friendly service.

Room 18. Noisy as it's by the front door. Sinks in bathroom didn't drain. Plaster on wall damaged. For the money, UHT milk is poor when they could provide real milk in the fridges. Main issue we encountered was in the middle of the night a machine outside of the room malfunctioned, emitting a high pitched noise, resulting in a really poor night's sleep. No one is on site to resolve the issue. Rang the contact number in the morning but no one called back. Escalated via hotels.com for a refund but it was declined. Just poor service for the cost of the room.

Went on a Saturday night. If you like to party and like loud music, this is perfect!

Lovely location nice setting but not up to standard of other Indian restaurants I’ve visited. Service was poor as it took an hour for food to come out. Also nobody asked if we wanted anymore drinks even though they took empty glasses away. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend going. Unless you want to see the views.

More of a restaurant than a pub, however the beer and the food are wonderful!

Attended a wedding at this venue and the room was nice, but that was about. The food was okay, but the eye watering drinks prices really left a bad taste . A small 150ml bottle of coke for children £3.80!! G&T £12!! I could go on. Advice would be to take your own drinks and not play up to greedy owners cheating a captive audience out of their hard earned money. And the wedding excuse doesn't wash. Do you pay your staff more for a wedding..no. Do your suppliers charge you more when they know it's a wedding...no. Does your heating and gas suddenly cost more for a wedding....no! Literally robbing people and we for one won't be returning to stay or eat there.
