Albion in Cannock Chase

I just wanted to leave a review to show my immense appreciation for the hard work the Albion put into Remembrance Day this year. What a great pub that went above and beyond for all who served, serving and those who wanted to show their respect. The Albion had a wonderful poppy arch inside the pub, were stocked up with pin badges, poppies, lanyards etc. I extend my thanks for allowing me to stand outside with my trike and proudly wear my medals for folks to come and donate to the appeal. On the day there was food put on for everyone and a free drink for military personnel. The pub was warm and inviting, there was people from all walks of life celebrating and enjoying the hospitality shown. Well done to all involved in pulling off a spectacular day to remember. You really are doing a fantastic job with this once unloved pub. You all have brought such joy back to Rugeley. It’s wonderful to see the veterans using the pub and donating to the military wall for everyone to see.

Nice to see this once very popular pub making so much of an effort to be like that again. Gemma and Gaz have only been running the place for a few weeks but the difference is amazing. Absolutely spotless inside, lovely beer garden outside, something new every day, good selection of drinks and just a brilliant pub to visit. Really nice people, good luck to the Albion.

Great Locals pub in the town center. Lovely staff and a lovely pint (lines cleaned recently). Weekend entertainment coming

Day staff member was lovely, and we were left to enjoy our drinks, I'm not sure the lines have been cleaned for a while as my Moreti had yeast floating in it- which should not be happening. My partner used the men's toilets and has no idea how you are open as they are appalling. Wouldn't even let our dog in them! Went back in the evening, and a random customer was behind the bar washing his fist, which was scratched up (after a fight or hitting a mirror/window and he was so rude and looked quite intoxicated. The bar maid did not look comfortable or able to deal with this. I don't believe anyone has control of this pub, I'm afraid.

Lovely friendly pub, staff are brilliant. Great laugh and good bands/ singers.

Had a great New Year's Eve in here, lovely bar staff and friendly chatty customers. Like a proper good old pub from way back!!

Had one of the so called value deals. Chips no real taste, same with fish, mishy peas dried up in minutes to a stodge. Jolly Frier or George's much better but I was there and only wanted a bite. Good job it wasn't exactly a meal. Not again for me.

Like the Albion pub, friendly landlady, really can't complain about the cask prices even if the choice is limited. Bit of work needed in the gents toilets so loses a star.

This review wouldn’t let me do 0 stars so I had to select 1. Worst chips I’ve ever had the misfortune to purchase, 90% of them were dark brown. I took a photo of them but can’t upload it. Simply put, a joke, you have one job!

Food is always lovely and perfectly cooked with good portion sizes for a good price. The staff are friendly and there is plenty of parking near by unlike horsefair.

Great chips just done how I like them. Good sized portion as well. I ordered a kebab as well it was ok, that's why no five stars. Chilli sauce had a good kick to it. Staff were polite and apologised for the wait and thanked me for my custom. I would definitely use them again

This is by far the best traditional fish and chip shop. Great value for money. Staff very helpful , you can eat in or take-out.

Good atomasphere with loyal locals. Great amenities in WiFi, pool table and an extensive juke box as well as a sweet little beer garden especially for a location that backs onto a car park. Friendly and welcoming staff also add to a great experience.

One of the better pubs in town although not brilliant. Not too busy & serves the drinks I like.
