Samson blewitt pub in Cannock Chase

Another lovely three generation family meal, all of us were well looked after by the wonderful Amy. Surf and turf and fish and chips both highly recommended. A lovely atmosphere

Never had bad service or a bad meal ,nice clean pub nice atmosphere good value for money.will return in this new year.

Food excellent, service excellent, just need to replace a few tables eg. The one by the wheel.

We went as a family of 6 and the staff were friendly and very welcoming. Had 6 different meals and starters, all came out in good timing and tasted nice. Main meals were lovely too. On the mixed grill I'd had 2 pieces of steak and cooked lovely. Will defo be going back. Also they accept blue light card which was nice.

Food was beautiful, service fabulous, company so so, just kidding 😂 I had the salt and chilli chicken kebab and I didn't want it to end. The sherry trifle cheesecake was a perfect ending and no one noticed me licking the plate and then stashing it in my bag. Would've preferred a tablecloth but I could always bring my own. Bravo Simon and staff, will be back for more asap.

We had breakfast with Santa. The staff always go above and beyond and the pub is decorated so nicely. The food was great and service always brilliant.

Great food, excellent service, nothing was too much trouble

So glad we found this gem of a pub. We used to always "meal out" at the same companies Chetwyn Arms. No complaints re that pub/restaurant just nowhere near as good as this one. Food is always piping hot, cooked really well. Prices are sensible but so much more affordable with the 30% off deals that come up. I've recommended to neighbours who have also had a good experience there. Staff quick to serve and I've heard bell ring in kitchen to advise food ready seconds later it's delivered to the table.

A hidden gem. Lovely, cheerful staff. So much hard work evident by the amazing Christmas decorations - the best I’ve seen anywhere. It’s a Marston’s pub so the menu is standard but the food’s beautifully cooked and presented, with ‘specials’ offered as well. Extremely popular (for good reason) so booking is advised. An excellent ‘find’

Wonderful food, friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere. Been before and will certainly continue to do so. Steak cooked perfectly as requested other dishes for family and friends also delicious. An enjoyable visit highly recommend will not be disappointed.

Online booking was easy. Staff were welcoming when we arrived and had taken note of a special request for a wheelchair accessible space. Everyone was very friendly and the food was nice and well priced.

Booking a table was easy and the staff were helpful when I made a mistake online. All of the staff we met in the pub were really friendly and helpful, as they were on our previous visits. The food was excellent - just the right amount, top quality and tasted great!! We will definitely be coming back again and have already recommended the place to several friends. We love this place!

The staff were really friendly and helpful our food was served quickly and accurately the Hunters chicken which I ordered was very tasty and well presented as were the other three meals we ordered. So we all said it had been a very good dining experience.

Came for a meal with my friend and we were so impressed. I had the Mixed Grill which was cooked to perfection and such a generous portion. My friend had a couple of starters and enjoyed them both. A special mention to Nicola who cleared our plates and let us order desserts from the table - most helpful with my full belly. Can’t wait to come back tomorrow to sample the Sunday dinners - if it’s anything similar to my experience this evening I will be most impressed.

Always great food and atmosphere. Wish I had more money to eat here even though it’s very affordable. Never had an issue here and love the staff and food. Highly recommend for a pub.

Me and my family use The Blewitt for all of our celebration meals as it never lets us down. Great food, always hot and hearty portions. The 30% off mains offer helps out too as it puts a big dent in our bill - every little helps. Thank you to all staff, you make our trips worth while and we look forward to visiting again soon.

There was 11 of us in total having a meal & a drink for my son's 50th Birthday. Even with so many of us, including 3 young children, the service was amazing. The food was excellent & we all had a brilliant time. Thank you so much Samson Blewitt staff!

Amazing food, staff were friendly and polite and service was great even though it was busy

I ordered a Sea Bass special, but when it arrived at the table, it consisted of a large amount of noodles, two tiny strips of what seemed like uncooked broccoli, and a few broken bits of what was supposed to be sea bass fillet, less than 25mm by 70mm. It was really poorly cooked, dreadfully presented and the sea bass practically non existent. Overall a really dreadful experience.

The food was really nice. All the staff were lovely too.

Popped here tonight with the kids and dogs just for one... we were made very very welcome. Landlord even gave the kids a game to take home with us. Really pleasant experience! Definitely going again.

We pre-booked a table online for seven adults here to celebrate a family birthday. During the daytime, I popped into the venue and asked if they could keep a birthday cake we had purchased in the kitchen until after our meal. The lady behind the bar was super friendly and helpful agreeing to my request. She doubled checked the booking name and made a note of which table the cake to be served to. When we arrived in the evening, we were again greeted with a warm welcome from staff. A trip to the bar to order drinks for our party saw yet more professionalism from the bar staff. The gentleman who served was chatty and efficient. We all had different meals from chicken, mixed grill, burgers, etc. Food service was quick and all food was piping hot. Everyone commented on the presentation and taste of the food - delicious! In a timely manner the lady hostess bought our the birthday cake with enthusiasm and made mum feel really special. She soughted a knife and napkins, offering to capture the moment by taking a photograph. A real comfortable, family atmosphere where great food at affordable prices can be enjoyed. Sincere thanks from our party, we cc will surely return.

Decided to visit at the last minute so booked on line for 6:30pm. Good job we booked it was almost full, when we got there it was very busy. Staff were polite and friendly despite having to work so hard. Our steaks came after 30 minutes or so, a short wait considering how busy the place was. The food was so good! Really good!! This place is a gem

We enjoy the samson blewitt for a meal as it is in walking distance, but just to add this time the meal wasn't as good I had the southern frier hunters chicken and it was tasteless sorry to complain but for the money I expected proper southern fried chicken not a southern fried chicken burger with cheese and bacon on top.

First time back at the Samson Blewitt for a meal and definitely will be returning back. Service was excellent and our meal was A maz ing. My wife had the steak pie with chips and peas, she was very impressed. I decided to go large with the Mega Mixed Grill, wow the rump steak was amazing, gammon fabulous, chicken breast fantastic. It fact, it was totally worth every penny, will be back very soon. The Chef great job 100%👍👍👍👍👍

I’ve dined here previously with my children and always have a wonderful meal. The meal we had yesterday was also of the same quality. Yesterday I was struggling with my tics and seeing I was struggling placing my order etc I was supported with the upmost respect, empathy and professionalism by the member of staff (apologies I don’t know his name) and I would like to thank him very much. We will of course be back soon!

Good prices good food which is hard to find best to pre book as popular

Been to this pub a few times now for food, and cant fault anything always lovely, very friendly staff, nice beer gardens too!

After a disappointing last-minute cancellation in dinner plans this Sunday, I hopped in the car and came to the Samson Blewitt for an evening meal hoping they could fit me in without a booking. I'd had a good experience at sister pub Newhall Farm a few weeks ago and hoped that the Samson would also deliver. I didn't see a welcome desk in this particular Marston's pub (or at least, not by the entrance I used), but a staff member at the bar said I could sit anywhere without a reservation card and took my drinks order. I had a Britvic orange juice and chose their chicken Sunday dinner for a main meal. As with other Marston's branches, all menus are online with prices so I didn't need to spend a long time making a selection. It was a very warm and sunny day so many customers were outside, but the atmosphere inside the pub was cool and pleasant with people of all ages in relaxed spirits. Dogs are welcome too. The restaurant is all ground floor with wide walkways and parking directly outside, so very good for accessibility. Unfortunately the guest WiFi didn't want to work; not a big deal for me as I ordered at the bar, but signal in the area isn't always great. My food arrived around twenty minutes after ordering, piping hot. The portions were decent and the scran itself was nice - I don't often have cranberry sauce on a roast but this one was lovely. I also stayed for dessert, the jam sponge with vanilla ice-cream: again, well-prepared and tasty. A great finish to a good pub meal. Service was good, the bar-staff were efficient and friendly. All in all, a lovely little place to go for casual food if you're in the area, and you'll get change from £20 even for a Sunday roast. What's not to like?

Always really happy with the food and the service of the staff. The today specials menu, was especially good on our visit recently.
