From my dining experience in the UK, I can confirm that this is a restaurant that is highly restored to the standard of Hong Kong restaurants, where you can try the flavours that are closest to those of Hong Kong. Just like restaurants in different countries, they choose the recipes that best suit British tastes from a large menu of Hong Kong food and drink, so I suggest that non-Hong Kongers can also dine at this restaurant. Just as you wouldn't see a pizza with pineapple in an authentic Italian restaurant, it's the closest you'll get to the flavours of Hong Kong as a city.

I came here on the weekend with my husband and son and had a fantastic experience. As others have said, the owner is so friendly and clearly really passionate about sharing authentic food, explaining each dish to us as it came out. The food itself was absolutely delicious - I couldn't get enough of the Nonya Laksa broth in particular. Much to my surprise even my 3 year old son loved the food and enjoyed trying lots of new things! We will definitely be back and would highly recommend what was a laid-back, delicious dining experience.

I've been here twice, both times on a weekend. The first time, my husband and I decided to give it a try whilst shopping on Kings Heath High Street and we were so glad we did. The hospitality of the staff, especially the manager, was top notch. The food was wonderful - this is not your usual Chinese takeaway style food, this is a whole other level. I know people use the word 'authentic' a lot, but in this case it is true. The food was hot, served in a metal bowl on top of a table top stove. I was impressed so much the first time that I knew my teenage son would love it. We bought him back this lunchtime and, in his words, the food was "incredible"; he even went as far as to say it was his new favourite restaurant. Please give this hidden gem a try if you are in the area - the manager is from Hong Kong and the food is true to that region. You won't be disappointed. Will definitely be back!

Very fast service, the gentleman who served us was an excellent and warm host, really nice and welcoming. The food was delicious and authentic, and true to Hong Kong flavours. The curry Laksa was perfect. They do not serve alcohol but they are happy for you to bring your own bottle. I would recommend this restaurant for authentic Hong Kongese food experience. Food tasted really nice and staffs were friendly. We especially liked the laksa, kaya toast and milo. The portions were large, well enough for sharing. The area was overall clean and hygienic. Recommend this place for dining.

Just had a take-away from Bagus Bagus. Amazingly delicious food - we ordered mapo tofu, roti canai, beef rendang, fried chicken and mushroom/silken tofu and it was all lovely. Highly recommended, especially if you want to try something a bit different.

We actually went for lunch at early bird over the road, but after queuing for a table and then being ignored for 15 minutes after we were sat down we gave up and left and I'm sooooo glad we did. This was so so much a better experience, so welcoming and the food is very good. Will definitely be going back, we had a fantastic meal. The silky noodles in clay pot were my highlight, very big portion.

Hints of Malaysian flavours in the food, although wouldn't say it tasted exactly like what we would actually get from home (Malaysia), probably because of the Hong Kong twist that the recipes contain. Ambience is that of a 1990s cafe, with console games like Street Fighter and King of Fighter (brings back memories for me personally) being played by a small operator-related entourage situated on the inner left portion of the main seating area

My husband took the car for a few hours and went to eat for the first time. After I got on the bus, I will order 1-2 more dishes next time. 🫶🏻

We had authentic Hong Kong Style noodles with the flavours that are authentic. The owners are very helpful. We will go back soon for Malaysian options like Nasi Lemak, for breakfast.

Food was great but service was bad. Only one staff in the restaurant, took long time to serve our orders (over 45 mins) , took order wrongly, tables not cleaning up, staff’s attitude was bad Suggest stop taking Deliveroo’s order when not able to handle restaurant

Great food, no MSG, worth to try!

The overall experience was terrible. We arrived at the restaurant around 4:45pm and we were rushed to go at 5:45pm when we haven't even finished our food yet. Nobody ever told us that there was time limit for taking our meal until then. The attitude of the manger was rude. He rushed us for a few times even when we were trying to finish our food as quickly as possible. Besides, the pot noodles we ordered was not hot enough and the fire stove that was supposed to help heating the noodles was out of fire 10 seconds after lighting up. The manager was not willing to relight it up for us and claimed that the noodles would be hot enough with the lid on for 3 mins. However after 5 mins, the noodles was still not being warmed up. Then he lighted the stove up and 5 seconds later the fire was gone. We don't like sweet drinks so we asked for some water during the meal, the manager was treating us like some beggars begging for something we don't have the right to ask for. I never met any waitor or restaurant manager more rude than this one. We will never go back.

I went to Birmingham this holiday and a friend recommended me to try Ba Ge, which is a popular restaurant in Hong Kong. Ba Ge is a Malaysian dish. I was originally planning to try the famous prawn noodles, but unfortunately they were sold out early in the morning, so I ordered a bowl of curry laksa. - The soup base tastes extremely fragrant. It is made from Malay curry and coconut milk, added with dried onions, garlic, galangal and other ingredients. In addition, the ingredients include tiger prawns, belly meat, potatoes, tofu puffs, bell rolls and bean sprouts. It is extremely rare in the UK to be able to taste the authentic Malay flavor. In addition, the dry-fried silver needle powder is not likely to be found in the UK. It is rich and full of wok flavor, and my daughter loves it. The most satisfying meal in Birmingham this time😆

Not deserve a star except for the milk tea. Had tried the curry laksa and nasi lemak, never inspired our Malaysian taste bud, not spicy, not authentic. I would prefer the Malaysian restaurant that near the city centre. Also, I don't feel warm when entering the restaurant, the heating probably is off 😅

We went as a group of 4 during half term for late lunch. It was really quiet so we got some very attentive service. Food was great. My first time, friends had been a few and can see why they keep going back. Great for authentic Singaporean cuisine

The chicken leg at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! Tender and flavorful, it's a must-try dish for any poultry lover. The perfect blend of seasoning makes every bite a delight. The meat soup here comes in a generous portion, with ample servings of delicious meat. It's sure to satisfy any appetite. Highly recommended for meat lovers.

The food is amazing- if you go, try the curry laksa, it is superb. I had mapo tofu but it was awful. Not spicy at all with no flavour just tasted like ground beef and bisto. Very limited vegetarian options too

I had the only vegetarian option on the menu, tofu with brocoli & mushrooms, the sauce had a strange gloop texture & didn't taste really of anything. The coconut rice had a nice flavour but was dyed bright green! My boyfriend had a mapu tofu which looked like it had the same sauce as mine but wasn't spicy at all. He really didn't enjoy his either. We left over half of our food & only finish the chips! Very disappointed Really disappointed as we were excited to try here.

The restaurant is pretty spacious, we tried the Nonya laksa and needle udon noodles. The food was very good and the portions are very generous. I believe the people running the restaurant see Cantonese but must have some speciality in malay food.

If you want to try some Malaysian food, this is a must-go restaurant. The Egg noodles in Bak Kut Teh Soup with Pork Slices and Malaysian Milk Tea is wonderful!

Authentic restaurant serving cantonese and Malaysian food. We have been here 3 times (many more to come) The food here is amazing I must say, very authentic you can tell they take pride in their food. My wife had the prawn laksa which she says is the best one she’s ever had, aromatic spices, big prawns and a huge portion. I had the Nasi lemak with Malaysian fried boneless leg - this is served with rice, boiled egg, sambal sauce, peanuts and a potato curry. This is my favourite thing to order, ever so lovely and filling and both dishes give you that home cook meal feeling. Last but not least if you’ve got the space, I’d order a starter to share called ‘Roti canai with curry dips’ I can’t fault this place.

Delicious, authentic Cantonese/Malaysian food, with friendly service. This is a very down-to-earth place which has only recently opened. The decor is basic and it's not a swanky night out, but if you want the real deal, this is it. Come for the flavours and a warm welcome. It's great value for money too - we spent £70 for four with drinks and mains with extras. Right now they don't have a licence, so you'll need to bring your own booze. Note that when I say authentic, some of the dishes may challenge you if you're not used to this way of eating - for example our son loved the one-man combo, but chicken's feet and tripe won't be to everyone's liking. You'll be able to find something on the extensive menu to suit, and the waiter was very helpful with suggestions.

Previously in Chinatown’s Asia Asia. Moved in to the local ‘Rainbow’ in Kings Heath. Been a few times since and am pleased their food is consistent. They do their ‘original’ menu well. The special soup is delish with noodles. The rice with fried chicken is my fave. Decor is very basic and a little cold (heat costs!). Every time having to ask for serviettes (-1*). Watch this space: seen a draft menu of mostly Chinese dishes. Perhaps to earn the support from the local community 🤞

Got such a warm welcome, went with my brother and sister for my birthday . The owner came over and explained the menu, i.e., the two different types . When asked about a vegetable we had never heard of,he went to the kitchen and bought out the fresh veg to show us . Food is fresh ,hot ,waiting time very good, atmosphere good. Hosting skills are excellent. Bring your own alcohol at the moment ,waiting for a licence. We had 3 starters 3 mains with rice and noodles ,under £70. Had a lovely night left full.will be back . The owner is a top man ,and I wish him happy success. Had a lovely pre birthday dinner. Thank you.

Had great meal here - was recommended to come and not disappointed. The Bak Duh Teh was superb (probably the best I have had outside Malaysia) and the vegan/vegetarian food was fab. We ate so quickly, I didn't take before pictures but the one photo I took was of the tofu and mushroom dish. Clean tables, plates and cutlery, parking is easy and easy to find. Well worth a trip and we are definitely coming back. Oh, and by the way, the Malaysian Tea (hot) is superb. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent service. I received a friendly smile the minute I walked in the restaurant. Food is tasty with a very generous portion. Price is reasonable with the size of the food. Amazing! Couldn’t fault a thing. Me and my husband popped by for dinner, and had ordered the Nasi Lemak and the Curry Laksa which were delicious. Staff were super welcoming and accommodating to dietary requirements. We were told all chicken on the menu is halal however weren’t aware that the Curry Laksa contained pork, but the staff were quick to fix the issue and kindly served me a new meal. So if you have any dietary requirements do let them know beforehand! Lovely little restaurant and we can’t wait to be back.

Unfortunately this is a pass. The restaurant is run by what seems to be a family from HK given by the Hong Kong decor throughout the restaurant. Portion sizes were inconsistent the protein to rice ratio was 85:15 and the rice portion was far too much. Some food came out at a luke warm temperature. I know some reviews suggest authentic but I'd have to differ after eating the same cuisine daily (Malay Chinese) for a year during a year abroad.
