We visited yesterday - table of 5! We hadn’t pre booked but they were happy to accommodate us. We all had lovely food, 2 of our group had the chunky chips which would be our only complaint. They were so burnt that they were practically hallow, the inside of the chips were completely gone. Other than that, stunning food. I’d highly recommend the belly pork! Thanks!

Communication booking on fb message excellent and quick. I think maybe we picked the wrong Saturday evening, as a lot of the menu wasn’t available. Also it’s unusual, as the waitress takes food orders and you order and pay at the bar separately for drinks. 🍷 Food was nice. Busy pub and the river views are nice if it’s daytime. Toilets….. could do with sorting. Light bulb 💡 out in one, lock broke in another. I think I’d return for a nice drink by the river.

Lovely pub with a fabulous view overlooking the river Avon. Plenty of outdoor seating and inside seating is nicely presented. They have a good range of beers and ciders. The food is great - not the most extensive menu but a good range to choose from and best of all it’s very good quality and value for money

Staff and food was the problem. The waitress got the order totally wrong and what she actually brought was a disgusting cremated bun with unrecognisable substance with what looked like a tomato paste. This was supposed to be a bacon roll. I’m not a fussy eater I can assure you but this was the absolute pits. Very poor experience. Beware.

Excellent service, great quality food. Staff vigilant, courteous and brought drinks very quickly. Food took a while but no problem as was fresh and so tasty with good presentation on arrival. Couldn’t ask for more. Menu is a little different with twists so an adventure to try things. I had chorizo and butter bean cassoulet with harissa prawns. It was super delicious !! and the coffee hot and nice blend. Have previously come for breakfast and chose the rosti with spinach, again a fine feed, thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend this place but do book as very very busy!

First popped into the Cafe on the way to the m50 for a pitstop about 12 months ago.oOn that occassion ordered a jacket potato with cheese. Took 40 mins and then it had cream cheese covered with a birds dropping size of hard cheese. Disgusting. Called in again this weekend as driver was hungry and ordered 2 lots of salad sandwich, a sausage roll and a slice of cake. Cost, 24.00. Asked for mayo but didn't have any. Sandwich consisted of two slices of dried bread and the salad was a lettuce leaf, a chunk of tomatoe and a slice of cucumber. Barely covered the meat but meat was OK, 2 slices of ham. Put together by a 4 year old by the looks of it. Cake was good though. However in future I will be using the mobile snack bar in the nearby lay-by if he's there next time I'm passing.

We were there for Sunday lunch, our first visit. Service was very slow. Starter was ok, but my main of the roast beef was cold. Other members of the party said there vegetables were also cold but did not complain. My dinner was returned and you could tell it had been put in the microwave.Deserts were ok but nothing to shout about. It was decided we wouldn't be returning.

I am a regular at The Pillar of Salt and I have always enjoyed coming here. I think the world of the staff members, expecially 2 in particular. One being Claire, and the other being Ashley. As far as I am aware, Ashley is the youngest bar staff member however from my eyes, puts in the most amount of work ethic as I know she is still in education at the time being. I have recently heard from another customer that I am in contact with that she has now left. everytime I came into the pillar I was greeted by lovely Ashley who instantly put a smile onto my face. if not putting a smile on customers faces, she was running food, doing glasses helping customers feel welcome and etc. moving on, Claire is an absolute superstar and never fails to put a big smile on my face. Claires work is outstanding and in my eyes should be the one running the place completely. The manager is never around and never shows his face although the chef who has 2 teeth wants to leave the kitchen every second he can. I find this highly unprofessional and a slight bit uncomfortable as I think I speak for everyone when I say I do not want the person cooking my food, to be the one also runnning around touching dogs and collecting glasses. all the food is microwaved as Tyler gladly told me and I have only eaten 3 times here. the first time I ate here I had some sort of burger. this came out burnt and horrible. the second and third time I ate here was when I came with my family and Ashley was on the bar as well as serving us our food. as the chef decided to leave, this left Ashley to provide us with our deserts and I can honestly say that was the only good thing about those visits I had. since then I have only came in for drinking. Claire and Ashley are the only people who keep this place afloat so therefore I send the best of luck to Claire as it is now down to he by herself.

We went for a Wednesday lunchtime roast with friends. We all went for the roast beef (sirloin) which was absolutely delicious and came with roasted vegetables, pigs in blankets, stuffing, cauliflower cheese and lots of gravy. This was followed by a lovely pudding. The staff were very lovely and paced the serving of the meal nicely. Would definitely recommend. Excellent value at £18 for the two courses.
