The Crown and Sandys Restaurant in Wychavon

Experience was very mixed! The two meat eaters loved their whole meal and rated it very highly, extremely tasty and well presented. Sadly as a vegetarian it was very disappointing. I do eat fish but am allergic to shellfish. All fish dishes were out except fish and chips as everything had some sort of shellfish, the hake which I could have had without the sauce had meat in its scotch egg. There are vegetarian option, provided you like beetroot as everything seemed to have beetroot or shellfish and I hate beetroot!

Everything except the actual meal was lovely. I was really disappointed in the meal as it appeared to be a reheat rather than a freshly prepared meal, so it was a bit of an anti climax, as it wasn’t even piping hot. From looking around the restaurant the al la carte food options looked much more appealing . Based on today’s experience I would not choose to have another Xmas lunch .

Friendly staff lovely food very good value for money

My party required a late Sunday Lunch and we dined from the set Menu. All was good and well presented.

The meal was very good for the price, but we could have done without the background (?) music. I realise that you have to have music everywhere these days, but being older customers we would prefer not to have to compete with it when trying to have a conversation.

it is a very nice place to meet on a quiet Tuesday evening. there were enough people to not feel all alone and the service was very quick, almost too quick once the food was ordered it was rapidly dispatched which made you feel it was all a bit pre-prepared. the location is great and the place was clean and the staff were efficient. the food was good despite the rapidity of the service.

The food was as lovely as always. The steak was delicious and the ambience was very welcoming

The venue is good however quite noisy when busy due to lack of soft furnishings. The lunch set menu had a good choice. All starters good but butter unspreadable should have been taken out of the fridge in advance. Main courses, chicken good apart from dauphinoise potatoes which were black and inedible. They did give money back for that. Fish and chips good. Service was lacking in any smiling almost sullen, and she obviously couldn’t be bothered. Attention to detail in lots of areas needed. Experience not as good as the last time but it won’t prevent from visiting again.

Never disappointed! Food is excellent, prompt and efficient service and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Will return again and again!!

A traditional inn with plenty of character, good beer and food. What's not to like!

We had a lovely meal and great service as always.

Came for a birthday lunch for my Dad. Had the Sunday set menu which still had plenty of choice. Everyone enjoyed the various options chosen. Staff were friendly and attentive. Slight downside was we were seated in the main bar area and another table were being quite noisy - not generally a problem but with my Dad being partly deaf this meant he had difficulties hearing the conversation above the background noise. That said the food was lovely and very well priced and we’d recommend/come again.

My wife and I visit The Crown and Sandys every 6-8 weeks. The food is always excellent and the service is similarly excellent. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Always a great experience. All the staff are friendly and professional. The food is always of a good standard.

Food needed to be hotter, couldn’t catch waiter’s eye, it was very busy. Gave up as was getting colder so ate it anyway. It could have been so much more enjoyable especially when you’re paying near £23 for it. Leeks under cooked, could have done with another veg. My friend had sea bass, the smallest any of us had ever seen! Definitely a child’s portion & her potato was cold, she left it. The men must have made a better choice, theirs was hot enough. They all enjoyed their soup. The dessert for two of us tasted of nothing & the pastry was rock hard, even a knife didn’t help. Quite expensive considering the above. We’ve had better elsewhere for less. The staff were best thing there! Thank you to all of them! I think it’ll be awhile before we visit again.

Delicious food served quickly and piping hot. Great early evening menu and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit

We were very sad to find that the food was not up to the standard we have long been able to enjoy. In addition, the noise level was such that we were not able to have a conversation! We have been coming to the Crown and Sandys for many years and hope very much that these difficulties can be resolved!

Excellent as always that’s why we have booked for another 2 times.

Lovely food in a old beautiful pub with caring staff

We have been to the Crown and Sandys on a number of times before and always no cause to complain. but on this occassion the waitress asked if everything was OK with the main course I said that that theRoast Potatoes were not the normal no colour in th skins and tasteless she offered to change them I said no as I was half way through my late of food, she then said she would inform the kitchen. perhaps that was a standard as nobody came back to me. Finally I ordered Apple and Berry crumble again not what I expected with very little crumble evident, not a good meal overall

We had 2 courses off the set menu. Fish and Chips and I had the Chicken Supreme, which was excellent quality, very tasty and good portion size. We both had the cheesecake, which was delicious

Absolutely lovely. We came here on a whim. I had an AMAZING chicken kiev dish which came with massaman curry and kimchi, rice, crispy seaweed and asian slaw and it was DIVINE. It is so unusual to find something so interesting and delicious on a hotel/pub menu. The chef who designed that dish is a genius. My husband had the Pork - also great. We will definitely be back.

We love coming to dine at the Crown and Sandys. Wonderful, friendly staff, lovely food choices and drinks. Never had a bad meal here. Been wedding guests, christening guests, Christmas meals and a Wake - food very tasty, lovely atmosphere and staff in Orangery and bar very welcoming. Thank you, keep up the good work.

We had a beautiful meal and an excellent service. Very friendly staff too. Couldn’t be more helpful. Will definitely go again. So will our friends that we took with us.

We visit The Crown & Sandys reasonably regularly. It is always excellent. The menu is varied with many great choices. The service is also excellent. We will be dining there again within a few weeks. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

We had the three course menu.Everything was delicious. Great service and atmosphere.

The stir-fry starter was a dollop of purple-brown "stuff" which did not look particularly appetising and tasted (if of anything) overcooked. The sea bass portion was notably smaller than previous evening meals here.

Food was great. Everything else was very good. Went as a party of 4. Its always good here. Consistent quality and service and very professional delivery of service.

A bit too noisy and WiFi not great but the rest of the experience was great - food, service

Excellent service, really delicious food very well priced. Thoroughly recommend.

First time visiting, and it was a really lovely meal, plates came out warm and all together, even though we were a big table, nothing but raving reviews for starters and mains. Desserts were okay, sticky toffee a little dry and the white chocolate set on the marquise a little hard, but apart from that a really good meal. Our servers were attentive and friendly and kept our waters topped up the whole afternoon!

The food is always lovely at The Crown and Sandy and the beef lunch didn't disappoint. It was a very busy time and we were originally situated in the large room but the noise levels in there were too much as there were large parties in there. We asked to be moved to a quieter spot which we were very much grateful for. The service was very good as always

Fantastic food, lovely attentive staff, good menu choices

The food is amazing and extremely well presented. Only negative aspect was the slow service - literally had to wave at staff to get them to come over (and that included trying to pay which took ages) Appreciate Sundays are busy but seeing staff chatting behind bar whilst we are waiting wasn’t the best! Food was superb however !

Wonderful service and delicious, beautifully cooked and presented food. We had the set lunch which had a good choice of dishes. I rang to say we would be a little late because of traffic and they were understanding and even told our friends that we were running late.

Here are some comments from the party Waited too long from ordering to getting first course over an hour Duck needed more sauce Pasta meal was very disappointing I wouldn't want to go back anytime soon,but the evening was good. Duck although good it needed more sauce and I thought the one glass of wine at £10.20 was expensive. My second glass of wine never turned up . Fish and chips was very good but service was slow . We commented that the two pasta dishes were supposed to be the same but one had lots of sauce and the other had none . All the ladies felt the service was very slow .

Two of us had three courses. Garlic bread for both of us to start, one beef wellington and one chicken Kiev. For afters (we couldn’t resist) coconut and pineapple baked Alaska. The food was delicious. Presentation of all plates was stunning. All food was piping hot and so tasty. Great value for money. Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was very relaxed and cosy. We will definitely be back.

We met friends for lunch that we hadn't seen for a while. It was a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant was full. The food was well presented and very good. There was plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was easy to make a reservation on line and was useful to receive a reminder the day before about your booking. We would visit the restaurant again.

Great food, well cooked and perfect portion sizes. The C&S catered well for our GF guest. Staff not overly obtrusive, but attentive and polite. Would recommend.

Visited for a family meal for mums 90th birthday as it’s her favourite place for a meal and as it’s always been perfect food and customer service.due to mums mobility we always have to ask for a chair with arms and they always accommodate

Come here many many times. Staff are always pleasant the pub it’s self is superb in my eyes a typical country but on high standards. Food excellent

May be slightly more expensive than other local restaurants but well worth paying extra. Absolutely delicious food and dessert. The pork tenderloin wrapped in parma ham was so tasty as were potato dauphinois.

A quiet night (Tuesday) but as always the food was lovely and service attentive without being pushy. We had the 3 course table d'hote menu and all dishes were very good.

Lovely setting and delicious food. The service was friendly and we were served very quickly. The plum frangipani was especially good. Highly recommend a visit.

Another great evening at crown and sandys. With our friends celebrating birthday, we asked for a quiet table and we sat in bistro area which was great. As we ate quite late, think staff forgot us when waiting to order dessert, apart from that, fantastic as always

Lovely location. The set menu (£20 for 2 courses) is great value for money. Would recommend the Biscoff cheesecake!

The Crown and Sandys is a lovely friendly place the service is excellent and the food top notch in fact I’d go as far as saying the cod and chips presented was without doubt the best cod and chips I’ve ever eaten delicious doesn’t come close!

Dry, overcooked Ox cheek bonbon with barely any jus. Seabass with a langoustine bisque…. Again dry as approximately a teaspoon of bisque. Admittedly management took one meal off the bill but reluctantly and argumentatively. I would not recommend.

Excellent service and helpful staff. Food is always good whenever we eat here. It was Father’s Day on this occasion, so lots of families with screaming, crying children (which is no fault of the restaurant’s obviously) but it did ruin the experience for me somewhat.

We were seated as soon as we arrived, drinks orders were taken promptly, then food orders. It was very busy as it was Fathers Day, however we didn't have to wait long for drinks, starters or main. The food tasted absolutely amazing and staff were polite at a reasonable price

Nice pub and staff. A bit disappointing food wise. Me and my mate tried the beef wellington but the fillet was a bit tough and chewy. 6/10 only I base my score purely on this.

The beef wellington was spectacular. The cod was very tasty, crispy batter and huge chunks of white juicy cod.

Very satisfied with the quality of the service and the food was excellent. Look forward to our next visit

The two soups that we ordered were sent back as they were cold. The staff responded apologetically and after a few minutes brought us two piping hot soups. My starter was served on a plank of wood and I would, for several reasons, prefer to eat my food off a plate. The bill as presented was incorrect and I pointed out the error and a replacement bill was produced. As ever the food was exceptional and the staff were all very friendly and efficient.

We had,yet again, another beautiful meal Saturday evening. Despite two weddings going on, the service was second to non. The staff despite busy are so lovely and The food was amazing as always and nothing is ever too much. This is exactly why we always return and recommend you to anyone who asks. Many thanks as always

I booked the beautiful Orangery for a birthday celebration lunch for the family. I couldn’t fault anything. The service, food, environment completely exceeded all expectations. The room I booked even came with a garden area exclusively for our use which the children in the family loved. A lovely family day. Many thanks to all at the Crown & Sandys.

Great food and they're exceptional with allergies. I have a gluten and dairy allergy, and they could adjust more a less most of the menu to my allergies. We will definitely be going again.

You have a wide choice in Ombersley, but this pub delivers quality food and service all the time and the reason why we keep returning.

As ever the food was excellent and I commend them for changing the menus regularly and using imagination in the dishes. As I always comment, the starter was served on a plank of wood whereas I would prefer it on a plate. Overall a very enjoyable evening. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Lovely atmosphere with a table next to the fire, usual excellent and unobtrusive service, and the food was tasty and perfectly proportioned. Good value and a varied a la carte and set menu to choose from. The Creme Brûlée was perfection.

Sadly large piece of cod was not cooked in the middle.

What a difference ! We had a poor meal a few months ago and have not returned. But yesterday we decided to try again and what a difference! Our meal was exceptional and we will certainly be returning very soon. The staff were also very attentive Five stars!
