The Swan in Wychavon

Four of us, one with a severe garlic allergy, went for dinner. The waiting staff and chef went to great lengths to come up with garlic-free options. All four meals superb. Good ambience, friendly and helpful staff. Great place all round!

We dined at The Swan in the dining room. Service was excellent; nice Margarita pizza and very good fish and chips. It was noisy with two families with three young children screaming the whole time we were there though. A bit odd with the modern art work mixed with two nice old fireplaces, and a cut-out showing the stucco cut away to the wooden lathing below…interesting. As we departed, we said to ourselves that we should have eaten in the pub which was a lot quieter with a nicer ambiance. You could also dine outdoors. We would recommend the pub inside.

we went to swan one evening, first we went in and they told us they were full with no place and then we went back and they said it was available, but apart from that it took a long time to take our order, the waitress was super slow with the tables left dirty next to ours for more than 45 minutes, quite good food but horrible service and also it wasn't busy but she only thought about talking to her colleagues.

Popped in for a drink and decided to stay for lunch which was very nice and well priced for two courses, especially in the Cotswolds. Gammon, runny eggs and chips nicely done. Fishcakes very tasty followed by an excellent chocolate brownie.

Lovely evening meal, in a beautiful little Cotswolds village. Attentive staff and large quality potions. Check out the free starter or dessert for first time customers.

Last minute booking having walked away from the lygon tavern because of ignorant staff Swan was busy but staff attentive Food was lovely, squid starter tender and tasty. My wife had 2 starters , soup and goats cheese salad, both well presented and tasty I had a char grilled gammon which I really enjoyed Been here quite a few times, never disappointed

A busy restaurant with different dining areas, we requested a quiet table and were sat in a smaller section which was perfect. The different courses we ate were all really delicious and very enjoyable. Service was pleasant and good. All in all a delightful experience: we would definitely return.

Swan is an excellent pub , with good food , range of beers and the service was excellent. The food was presented very well the only thing stopping it getting 5 stars was the crab starter , although it was visually stunning it was completely tasteless . Everything else about this pub was brilliant, well worth a visit .

Visited for lunch, weather was beautiful so sat outside in the rear garden. Ordered drinks & food on the app. The speed our food was delivered was amazing, we waited less than 10 minutes, in fact our food arrived before our drinks! (Which the staff apologized for) The food was lovely & the lemon pudding was outstanding! Definitely recommend

Fantastic food, excellent service from Holly who looked after us all evening! She was fantastic. Cocktails were lovely and highly recommend the wine and dine menu.

Group of 6 visited for lunch, 2 with serious allergies. Were looked after by Vicky, who was wonderful and went through all the allergens in the food, and we ended up with a lovely roast (great idea to have twosome of beef, trio of meats and the usual single meets). Sun came out so a jug of Pimms was the icing on the cake. Will be back.

Went on a busy Saturday night but service spot on and food amazing. We all had ribeye steak, cooked to perfection and the side salad I had was superb and plenty of it. Espresso martini's were also outstanding. The young staff that were serving were like seasoned professionals, a great credit to them. Would recommend the Swan to anyone visiting Broadway.

The Swan, Broadway We nipped into the Swan for a spot of lunch, first impressions were very good, I queued up at the bar to get drinks and ask for menus, the young chap behind the bar, and I am being generous, was very slow, but very affable, I ordered a couple of drinks and then sat down to choose food. I chose the fish cakes with a poached egg, my girlfriend the celeriac steak, when the food arrived I noticed that my fish cakes had red flakes sprinkled on them, I asked the lady who brought the food if this was chilli? She said yes it was, I commented that there was no mention of chilli on the menu, she asked if I would like it remade, I said no I would give it a try. Like most people I immediately went to cut the poached egg to allow the yolk to flow luxuriously over the fish cakes, unfortunately they were hard boiled poached eggs, I asked the lady who had brought them if they could be changed, she said she would, picked up my plate and started to leave, I called her back and asked if she could redo my girlfriends meal as well, going out as a couple normally means eating as a couple, she grudgingly agreed, picked both plates up and left. We had waited a further 10 minutes, without food but looking at a portion of fries on the table slowly wilting and going cold, after about 15 minutes I as ked another waitress to take the fries away. Sitting with baited breath we waited for our lunches to be remade and delivered to our table, after about 25 minutes, the only reason I know the time so well is that I was monitoring the time left on our parking on the RingGo app, the lunches were returned, immediately my girlfriend noticed that all of the sauce and pesto on her dish had dried up suggesting that her dish had just been placed under a salamander whilst they made a new sauce without chilli for my fish cakes, and the chips were lukewarm at best. My girlfriend went to the bar and asked to speak to the manager, this turned out to be the surly lady who had taken our lunches away, she returned with excuse after excuse, I have to be honest, I may have been a bit brusk with my tone, but this could easily have been solved with better customer service skills on her part, she asked if we would like our lunches remade, but at that point we had run out of time and would have to leave, the manager went to the bar and returned to say that she had comped the entire meal including the drinks, I asked her to charge us for the drinks but she replied, “no it’s ok I have made that decision”, a derogatory reference to a comment I had made earlier. It is such a shame with the problems in hospitality at the moment and the lack of good staff that a person who describes herself as “part of the management team”, is such a perfect example of what is going wrong! As with all places that we have had a bad experience visiting, we will try The Swan next time we are in Broadway and I will hopefully post a review that totally reverses my view’s here!

We have visited The Swan a few times before while in Broadway. Today after looking around we decided to go back there for lunch. We hadn’t booked but they were happy to accommodate us. It was a good thing that we were there quite early as the restaurant soon filled up. Once again we enjoyed our food very much. The service was excellent. We had a lovely young waitress who looked after us perfectly. She was lovely. I am vegetarian and enjoyed the aubergine lasagne with chunky chips and a glass of wine and my husband had the dirty burger.

Chosen based on reviews and for once they were spot on. 4 of us visited for Sunday lunch. We did book but got hungry ahead of our booked table & fortunately they could accommodate us. All 4 of us were astounded by the portion size of the lunches (but all still managed a dessert) Well cooked and presented with attentive and engaging staff. Good value for money, especially based on how full we all felt leaving. Will return next time we are in the area.

Very nice pub and restaurant. The menu had a nice selection for lunch, my wife and I went for the steak focaccia and chicken & mozzarella sandwich. The beef dripping sauce was the best I’ve ever tasted. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Lovely location and reasonably priced.

Visiting Broadway one Monday morning, we had thought that we would have 'done' the shops and be on our way to have lunch in a nearby village. Thank you, Broadway, as we had a job to tear ourselves away! We also found the short-stay parking at the back of the 'arcade' very reasonable and handy. So we chanced upon The Swan, and were very happy with our lunch and experience. All the staff were lovely and welcoming, but Imogen saw to our every need and loved our young black Labrador Stanley; though, for hygiene reasons of course, didn't fuss him. There was a great vibe in the large bar, many with dogs, a mix of seating, one family playing cards at a table, many walkers, a mix of casual and smart attire and everyone feeling at ease. The sandwiches were a meal in themselves, and they lived up to their description. So thank you to everyone concerned. We are looking forward to returning, and would recommend unreservedly. Keep up the good work!

We visited today & ordered some drinks. The hot chocolate was meant to come with marshmallows & cream but was just given a hot chocolate which half was spilt in the saucer. We order some roast dinners which were a brilliant size & the meat was beautiful. Unfortunately the chicken was meant to come with bread sauce & stuffing which wasn’t on the plate. We were disappointed in the cauliflower cheese which was £4.50 for a small pot. We were more than happy to pay for that. When it arrived it was basically cauliflower with no taste of cheese and a thin sauce over the top which looked non existent. Overall the Sunday lunch was lovely & the staff were polite & helpful. Attention to detail goes a long way in places like Broadway.. especially as you’re paying above average.

The salmon special was excellent and my wife loved it. However my lamb shank was quite tough . I had asked for this to be well done but it was really difficult to cut and chew into. I wouldn’t recommend the lamb to anyone. However the flavour was amazing. This is why 4 stars not 3. The young lady serving us was excellent.

Having seen the large portions for fish & chips after ordering, I had high expectations for the steak & malbec pie, which "came with chive mash, French beans and purple sprouting broccoli". Whilst the pie was a proper pie with shortcrust pastry whoever had made the pie was somewhat heavy handed with the malbec. You could smell it and the taste overpowered the small quantity of meat in the pie. There was a small ice cream scoop of chive mash, with a miniscule amount of veg underneath it. It was not very filling. All three of us found that. During the meal, noone came to ask how it was. When someone did come and clear the plates, she asked them and I told her the above. She was short and abrupt with me rudely saying why didn't i order some extra mash. A) First visit to the pub so didn't realise that you had to order extras as it stated it was included in the meal (& generally you don't need extra mash with Pie & Mash) B) There was noone around to ask once the food had come C) Had to wait an hour for the food and a long time for drinks (jugs of water & glasses for the table would have been OK while we waited but we didn't even have that) - it was busy so had allowed for that - but I didn't want the rest of my meal to be cold when the chive mash arrived. The same woman was short and abrupt with us on arrival; once is understandable as she was probably stressed with it being so busy, but twice to a paying customer isn't the best customer service. Unfortunately most of the family were disappointed with their portions, so not good value for money. However, I would recommend trying the desserts. I had three scoops of ice cream (double chocolate, honeycomb and crystallised ginger) with two chocolate cookies. That was lovely and I really enjoyed that. I've read previous reviews and I'm not sure whether they were having a bad day because they were so busy and perhaps understaffed, but I certainly would not be going back - except perhaps for dessert!

We live locally to Broadway and come to The Swan a couple of times a year. It is always reliably great service and huge choice of food. Love the decor. Funky and modern. Plenty of seating outside as well as inside.

It would have been a good review but unfortunately due to a lack of service I've marked it down. The bar service was exemplary and the gentleman who served us was polite, friendly and a perfect host. After that it went downhill. Our food arrived missing the billionaire fries and chunky chips. After a 10 minute wait we asked our young male server where our sides were. 10 minutes later still nothing so I asked the lovely gentleman behind where our food was. After about another 7 minutes wait they turned up but by then our mains were cold. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and finishing touches. Maybe a little more attention to detail is required and a little less headless chicken behaviour by some of staff.

Had the best service! Visiting Broadway with friends, and our waiter Ben made the trip. So friendly, couldn't do more for us. Will be highlight we talk about for many years to come.

Food and drinks were amazing! Service from Ben was great. A really relaxed and great atmosphere. I had the Sticky Chipotle Chicken starter, Pork Belly main and Brownie dessert with many a Cosmopolitan. Everything was absolutely incredible and would highly recommend!!

Comments re. bar......If you have a dog, and need a drink in Broadway, then the Swan is the place. The staff were brilliant, a huge selection of real beer and fake ( joking.. but you know what I mean).. but then we noticed a cute dog, then another and another. Seemed like you needed a dog to get in... excellent pub.

The staff were very helpful , we had walking in and asked for a table. There was places to choose at 6 pm . Unfortunately the knife was dirty , it happens . The plant burger was over cooked and hard. The pizza was good , well cooked and a crispy base , the cheese a bit strong , goats cheese , for my liking.

Great pub, nice decor and very friendly service.To be honest the food is more 3 star (sorry!) but the service and atmosphere deserve more stars.If you have food allergies you will be ok here although there could be more choice, especially for dessert . If you have both gluten and dairy allergies you will be a lot more restricted.Having said this, I can see why this would be a lovely place to drop in for a drink, even if you are not having food or are perhaps ordering just a snack.A very special thank you to the amazing Anne-Marie. It has been a very, very long time since we last received such impeccable service from a really nice, efficient and genuine person.

We went for a meal there last night, it looked so nice when we walked in, we were anticipating a lovely meal. `huh! As vegetarians 4 of our party of 6 chose from a very liked vegetarian menu, the plant-based burger and fries. The burger was a big mass of solid, bland, untasteful, heavy blob with one teaspoon of mayonnaise and three lettuce leaves and a dull soggy bun with the smallest fries I have ever had and four mini gerkins that you get out of a supermarket jar. IT WAS AWFUL.

Really high quality food and did not expect this as we were sat in the bar area with the dog but was top restaurant quality. Staff really pleasant. Only downside wine is very expensive.

On a short break in Broadway, we discovered the Swan and dined there on the evening of 7 February. Nothing could be faulted - service first class (Ann-Marie), food excellent, wine perfect. Well attended by other diners, not too crowded. Great value for money.So good we dined there again on the 8th. Our waitress was Liz, the maitre d' Dan. Both happy to engage in conversation whilst keeping an eye on their other customers. Cannot wait to go back!

Really glad I booked on the 17/02/22 as otherwise it would have hard to get a table. The food was fantastic with plenty of choice for each course, we had the king prawns and sticky chilli chicken to start, really tasty, main course we both had the pork belly with scallops, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the crackling was crunchy. Desert we had the eton mess and the sticky toffee pudding, my wife said it was the best one she has had in ages. For 3 courses, bottle of wine, 4 pints and coffee all for £119 in a fantastic setting. Will mention the staff from Victoria who seated us to Tyrer who was the waitress, the service was first rate, friendly and thankyou Tyrer for the recommendation on the eton mess.

V busy for Wed night. Food OK, nothing notable! Bar staff good. Suited our vegan and GF requirements well. Only issue had to wait an hour for dessert but they didn't charge us for it, so was OK.

We visited The Swan on recommendation whilst we were staying locally, and were not disappointed. Great selection of drinks available, and the food was delicious - nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were all very friendly. We ate a couple of times and enjoyed every mouthful!

Excellent food and atmosphere. Our waiter ‘Ben’ was top drawer and so efficient and polite. Was very busy but service was quick but didn’t feel rushed at all. Food very tasty and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

Visited for the first time on Saturday evening for a birthday meal. Food was delicious and excellent value. We had the fishcakes, rack of lamb and the fish and chips. Food and service were excellent, last visited in June last year when it was appealing, gave it another go as had heard it was much better under different management, really glad we did as the difference was like night and day, well worth a visit!

Just come back from a birthday meal at The Swan . One of our party has already put a review on but was such a poor meal that feel I need to reiterate this. The bar area where we were seated was cold. I ordered drinks including a coffee to warm myself up. The waitress came over after a while to check if we were ready to order our meal and drinks. we said we were still waiting for our drinks. They had clearly been forgotten, When they arrived the coffee was luke warm. My daughter ordered the flat bread and the waitress asked if she had any dietry requirments as it was the vegan option, She asked if she could have beetroot instead of avocado. Beetroot was on other dishes so was clearly available and the waitress said no problem. When the meal came there was no beetroot, we questioned it and waitress said there was none and it had been a communication problem, the billionaire chips were cold - sent them back and they came back with mayonnaise on them, My husbands chicken pie was tasty but had been standing around for a while as skin on gravy . The prawn and chorizo starter was actually hot but the prawns were almost raw inside. The whole place needs a good clean - upstairs is very grubby. There is an extensive menu which is clearly too much for the staff to manage , it would be better to operate on a limited menu which could be cooked to a higher standard. I am sure the response will be that if we had alerted staff to these issues they could have done something about it but there was so much wrong that it was embarassing especially as it was a birthday occasion, I used to recommend The Swan to holiday guests who came to our cottages but I am afraid I wont be doing this in future, Staff were friendly.

The restaurant was so cold. Seated next to a window with a draft. Ordered a coffee to warm up and it came cold as was sitting on the side for a long time before served. Ordered food and asked for special requirements which were not fulfilled. Chips were cold. Flatbread was soggy and tasted of nothing. When chips were sent back , they came back with mayo on which was not as ordered. Prawns were raw so couldn't eat. Toilets were dirty. We did complain about the chips but didn't want to complain anymore as we felt embarrassed. Staff were polite and welcoming however very understaffed. A very disappointing birthday meal , will not be returning. But thanks for helping me with my January diet as the food was so awful!

What a place! Could not get a table through the online booking or automated phone service so I decided to ring and speak to a real person. They advised that the system does not always work well and we’re able to make a booking for me.A very warm welcome, the most beautiful decor, lighting etc as well as a full menu with something to please everyone. Each dish chosen was well presented and delicious.There was an issue with one dish which was solved quickly,professionally and in an exemplary fashion by the staff - absolutely top marks for that and so I cannot recommend the Swan highly enough.
