Firstly lets say that the owners totally non flexible policies are unusual to say the least. My wife could not have a taste of the wine that was offered by the glass - that was a new one on us as every other pub we've been to for dinner has allowed to see if the wine was acceptable. The menu is limited - my wife had the chicken pie and chips. Clearly pre cooked and frozen. Not dissimilar to what we could get at Aldo but no match for an M&S pie. I had the chicken and ribs platter. As I find pub chicken breast to be generally very dry, I asked for that NOT to be served (no point in wasting it). I suggested that they might throw on a couple of extra onion rings but guess what. NO as the owner does not allow ANY substitutions. No worries. Anyway the meal was very disappointing and breached the trades description act. The menu clearly states a half rack of ribs. A Pig has 14 ribs each side so any mathematician would tell you that half of 14 is 7. There were 5. They were not particularly meaty. The wings were covered in a sauce which was different from the sauce on the ribs so a strange mix of flavours. Popcorn chicken was overcooked and dry. Beer was good, fries were good, service was pleasant but not good enough to makeup for the deficiencies so no, we wont we going back or recommending the place.

I thought it was a standard Marstons pub, so I was not going to go in there initially. However, I was glad that I changed my mind. It had a nice selection of ales on there that were kept well.

So, this is one of my most visited pubs in Droitwich over the last 12 months and I've grown so familiar with everyone, I've forgotten to review it! From the warm welcome, to the well kept ales all the way through to the food (the Sunday carvery is amazing!) it is well worth a visit. One of the oldest pubs in town too, it's steeped in history. It would be easy to single out members of staff, but I can't do that as they are all fabulous - friendly, attentive and professional, they are a credit to Claire who runs a great pub.

Went here tonight for food and absolutely can’t recommend it enough. Proper old fashioned pub that really values its history. Friendly polite and cheerful team working there. Food was fantastic. We had the mozzarella and croxton cheddar bites and breaded mushrooms for starters. Both were really tasty and exactly as the menu described. We then had the Cowboy burger and the Utimate Spicy burger and as we are both big burger fans we were delighted by just how good they were. We will be back again for food very soon indeed.

The quality of meat was very poor especially the pork it was a very cheap rolled roast pork joint full of fat and undercooked. I returned the plate back to the counter asking that they took the pork off. The plate was taken to the kitchen and returned to me. I asked if I could have a slice of turkey. The server wanted to take the plate back off me back to the kitchen to ask if that the turkey would be ok. I told her to forget it as the rest of my meal was now almost cold. Rubbish service. We complained to the management who blamed the brewery. A bad experience and we would not go back.

We have seen food on previous occasions and a good review from friends. Not good. Waited a long time for food. Looked lovely when it came out. Hunters chicken was dry not enough barbecue sauce. Surf and turf was lovely if you excluded the turf. Steak had a funny taste and smell. When asked if food was OK we pointed it out it wasnt good the staff seemed to know there was an issue as he said oh the funny aftertaste.ive already heard that. Shame was so looking forward to it

Only reason it is 4 stars and not 3 is because of atmosphere and friendly, cheerful staff! 🤭 We were looking for the best available pub experience in the area and were sold by great reviews and rating of 4.5 While the building and atmosphere is absolutely authentic, the food was average at most. Cowboy burger bun was very dry (taking in count, it was brioche is shouldn't have been cooked from the top at all) and coleslaw was served !warm (it was most unpleased coleslaw we tried). Salat leaves in the burger had hard bits (i guess leftovers), which isn't a big deal, but still, why? Cheddar potatoe leek pie - the dough part is so overcooked, almost rock hard, without gravy and salt it tasted plain, with potatoes in it still tender. I couldn't taste any cheddar at all. To be honest, if you can't cook pie properly, just remove it from the menu as such a simple dish ruins trust. Over cooked peas killed me too ( seriously, frozen peas just soak in boiling water for 3 min and serve! No magic needed!). Pepper and salt in opposite grinders too 🫣

Not from round these parts, very much a caravanning tourist from deepest darkest ale quaffing Holmfirth, in West Yorkshire. Ended up here twice today! We tend to navigate pubs by the good beer guide. Popped to the place across the road, then to the Old Cock. Turns out the beer and service was fantastic, I'm my opinion, far superior than some other establishments within the town. Decided to eat at another pub further down the road, but when we arrived they'd run out of ale, so that was no good! Returned to the Old Cock for more ale and some food. Shouldn't have left, good ale, good food, nice staff, nice atmosphere, nice locals. Acceptable prices. Dog friendly. Even got board games to keep folk amused on rainy days.

Stayed at Droitwich Spa Marina campsite and wandered into town. Had researched the best pubs before we left home (!) as you do, so knew we had to find The Old Cock Inn. We were not disappointed. Friendly barman and proper old quirky pub. Good choice of real ale and cider and cheaper than at home (Cornwall). Win, win! Stayed for 2 pints and as it was Friday night Pie Night we decided to eat here as well. £7.50 for pie (choice of 4), chips (also choice of potatoes) and peas and it was delicious. We had planned on returning the following weekend (on our way back home) but the weather was so good we had a BBQ on the campsite! Will definitely be staying locally again and visiting this great pub. Have already recommended to camping friends.

So sad I forgot to take pictures! It's the first time we've been here and we all really enjoyed it. We nearly all had carvery and let's start with the Carvery Chef. We visited Droitwich and the Old Cock Inn for the first time ever for a pre-Christmas family lunch. It's a proper ancient, unpretentious and un-gentrified town inn and we immediately felt at home. The staff were warm, friendly and very welcoming to we strangers, and the carvery food was excellent. Vegetables had been carefully cooked, and were excellent quality. We all had turkey, and it was also of a high quality. Portion sizes were also very good. We didn't have desserts as we were all too full after the main course. All of this was had at a very modest price - little over £40 for four adults! A great place indeed.

An older pub in Droitwich, which is a great place to go with a small group or just a social drink, one of the places to go to see the faces of the town. Narrow walkways throughout the pub, quite possibly too narrow for a wheelchair, but not tested that out. It was pretty busy when we went in with our group, but got served pretty quickly. Staff were friendly enough, I didn't have food, but they do serve it, so unfortunately I don't have a review for that. Parking is any place you can find to park on a public road or car park.

We regularly drink in the Old Cock, but tonight we had a meal. Described simply, it's proper pub food. But it feels like they put a personal touch to it. The food was very good, perfectly presented and was hot and oh so tasty. It is also worth noting that you won't have a bad pint in here. A very good range of Ale and Lager and a great selection of Gin it seems too. The service is always good, with a smile and good humour. It's friendly, welcoming and very good value. The gaffers Nick and Clare have this place sorted and then some more. It's a focal point in the town and also a place that welcomes new visitors. Despite these strange times, this place has it sorted. Thankyou.
